āThat keeps on coming back to me, that sentiment and that idea and how strangely hard it is to be oneself. It feels like it is a lifelong pursuit to dig down and bring whatever is the true selfāthat mysterious thing of the true selfāup to the surface, offering it and giving it because it wants to be given. There are so many opportunities to run away from it. Itās so easy to say: āNo, not safe, not safe, not safeāIām going to be rejected or Iām going to fail or Iām going to be disliked or someone wonāt understand.ā What Iāve discovered is that if people are not understanding you or you are failing, that often tends to be a good sign.ā

Taylor Swift Songs as The Hunger Games Series Pt. 2: The Archer
Finally, Iām at it again! Only took me like a year to get around to posting part 2 (lmao). Hereās the run-down for those who havenāt seen my first post: I was obsessed with The Hunger Games series as a preteen and I also love Taylor Swift, so (naturally) my brain often mixes the two together. Today, Iāve chosen to explore the song āThe Archerā and how itāunintentionallyārelates to our main girl, Katniss Everdeen, specifically regarding her mental/emotional battle with the rebellion and her fellow victor, Peeta Mellark. So, without further Ado, hereās my unnecessarily thorough analysis :)
Lucas Sinclair +Ā āmirrorballā by Taylor Swift
Hush, I know they said the end is near
But Iām still on my tallest tiptoes
Spinning in my highest heels, love
Shining just for you
And they called off the circus, burned the disco down
When they sent home the horses and the rodeo clowns
Iām still on that tightrope
Iām still trying everything to get you laughing at me
A tale that becomes folklore is one that is passed down and whispered around. Sometimes even sung about. The lines between fantasy and reality blur and the boundaries between truth and diction become almost indiscernible. Speculation, over time, becomes fact. Myths, ghost stories, and fables. Fairytales and parables. Gossip and legend. Someoneās secrets written in the sky for all to behold.
