Phew, with the posting of chapter 3, I finished all that I wanted to accomplish for the spiritshipping week time. Now, I will keep updating this till the fanfic is completed.

A young prince dreams of going out to the village to be free like the others. But he’s restricted by his duties as crowned prince to never venture out of the castle. His bodyguard and trusted friend, Jehu wishes to help him. So he took out the prince to the village where the spirits festival was held and the lights that glowed awhile were no longer out of reach. Things were going great until the prince got too excited.

The teal haired boy paused and turned to look at him. His face turned pink when he recalled the prince, dancing with the girls. It irked him for some reason… and the duel being more fun than anything they’ve done at the castle, pissed him off. The auburn boy was annoyed.

Jehu: “Do you have any idea how stupid that was? Your behavior could put you back in isolation while I might lose my job! Is that what you wanted, you spoiled brat?!” He raised his voice at his best friend.

He paused and his face dropped when he heard the auburn boy whimpering and beginning to cry.

Haou: “No! This isn’t what I wanted at all. All I wanted was just a day to be free. I’m sorry… I’m sorry that I ruined everything, Jehu.” He pulled his arm away and ran away into the passing crowd as his tears fell.

Spiritshipping Week Day 7

Prompt: Lights

Jaden rang the doorbell, adjusting his yukata.

Tonight is the Festival of the Sakura Deity and Jaden wants Jesse to experience it.

It would be his first festival, not to mention their first date so Jaden wants to make this special.

The door opens and there Jesse stood, wearing a teal yukata and tan settas.

Jaden blushes at the sight, “You look amazing Jes.”

Jesse blushes back, “So do you Jay. That red really suits you.”

“Thanks. Let’s get going. You’re going to love it.”

Jesse smiles and follows Jaden to the nearby park where the festival was being held.

So many stands with games to play, things to buy and food to eat. The lanterns hanging all around provided not only light but protection from the bugs. There were cherry blossom trees in full bloom, the gentle wind decorated the ground with petals.

The boys stood at the entrance in awe, wondering what to do first. They decided to play some games and then sat by the storyteller to hear the tale of the Sakura Deity Becky Lynch. He told about how her and her guardians saved the world with the power of the Crystal Beasts and the Rainbow Dragon. After her journey, the dragon was sealed back behind the Rainbow Door and the seven gems scattered, believing such power should not fall into the wrong hands.

After the story, they browsed the shops before getting some food and sitting in the grass.

“How are you liking it Jes?” Jaden questions, mouth full of fried shrimp.

Jesse laughs, “It’s amazing!”

“Wait until you see the fireworks.”

Some moments later, the fireworks started. The lights forming shapes in the sky.

Jaden looks at Jesse, watching tenderly as the lights shine in his eyes.

“Look! A heart!” Jesse exclaims, pointing at the sky. When he looks at Jaden, he’s shocked that he’s kissing him. Slowly, he kisses back, eyes closing as he melts into it. They slowly part, the lights reflecting in their eyes.

“Beautiful.” Jaden whispers, placing a hand on Jesse’s cheek.

Jesse blushes, leaning into the touch.

He never wants this night to end.

FINALLY, I got to the chapter I wanted to reach so badly for the spiritshipping week. Now, I feel satisfied, and that my duty for this week's Day 2: DATE theme is fulfilled haha.

Of course, this is only the start for the journey. BUT, it will be fun from here, trust me XD

SSW Day 6: Healing @johanxjudaiweek

Welcome to day 6 of spiritshipping week. Sorry I didn’t post day 5. It’s not finished yet so have day 6 for now. What inspired me for this prompt was something I wish happened between Judai and Johan in season four. I wished they had an earlier reunion episode, instead of the one we get later in the season when they meet in Domino City. Spoilers if you haven’t seen that episode yet.

I thought to myself: What if Johan stayed at Duel Academy instead going back to North Academy and found Judai when he landed back on Earth? They would have had so much to say to each other and a lot to unpack. For example, the dark world events and how the hell Johan gets his deck back from Judai in the first place which I don’t think was touched on in season four if I’m remembering correctly.

If this episode existed, it would explain a lot of things and maybe show how they would struggle at first to adjust to the new year. Judai being quieter and fused with Yubel but also being depresso espresso while Johan’s still recovering from what happened to him and the Crystal Beasts thanks to Yubel…

Thus this drawing was born!

This was lovely and stressful to draw at the same time just like how the episode would be if it ever happened.

I feel like this episode for season 4 would be called “Judai and Johan’s Lament” or just “Judai’s Unfinished Business”. And their talk would go something like this… here’s the dialogue:

Jaden: “I’m… I’m fused with Yubel.”

Jesse: “How did it feel, Jaden?”

Jaden: “It hurt like hell but it was either them or the world ending…”

Jesse: You did only what you could do. I can’t imagine that being an easy choice to make.”

Jaden: “No… but at least you’re here with me.”

And they totally make out afterwards. See ya tomorrow with Day 7: Lights on a03. 😊

Spiritshipping Week Day 6

Prompt: Healing

Jaden returned home from work to see Jesse on the couch, eyes closed as if in deep concentration.

“Jes?”

“Oh! Hey Jay!” Jesse stammers as he shoots up. “Sorry, was just talking to the Crystal Beasts.”

“About what?” Jaden asks as the pair head for the kitchen.

“How to wake Jim.”

Him and Axel are currently investigating a circus that’s using music to capture children. Unfortunately the masked villain played a song that put Jim in a sleep-like death and Axel can’t figure out how to wake him.

“What did they tell you?”

“They’re not sure if he’ll wake up, but they want to try. Although, they did decline something else I asked them.”

Jaden studies him, “What was the other thing?”

“…If they could erase the memory of the..you know..”

Jaden frowns, “Jesse..”

“I…I just want to be rid of the memory so I can go back to how I was.”

Jaden walks over and takes Jesse’s hands in his. “You don’t have to get rid of it to heal.”

“It would be easier.”

“I know, but don’t you see? You ARE healing from it. Slowly but surely.”

“You think so?”

Jaden nods, “Absolutely. Before you wouldn’t leave the house and would want me within eyesight. Now you’re going back to work and are okay with being alone while I’m out. It’ll take more time, but you’re getting there Jes. One day at a time.”

“I’m just worried of losing your love.”

“Oh Jesse.” Jaden leans up for a kiss, which Jesse quickly melts into. “You’ll never lose me. I love you so much. I’m with you forever.”

“Forever?”

“Yes.”
