Happy Belated BFSN! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years since the premiere. It feels like only yesterday I was sitting on my couch rage crying over the ending. There are still episodes I haven’t seen which is probably for the best. But I’m not here to talk about the negativity surrounding that final season because I know that there are some people who absolutely adored that season. I am here to talk about the friendships that I have made over the last 10 years and the people in this community that are so beautiful. I was lucky enough to meet some of you in person and it’s one of my fondest core memories. I am one of the many you attended Conageddon 4 over the weekend. It was amazing to see new and old fans enjoying the show all over again. The fan videos before the panels were so beautifully done. I definitely wore my Bellamy Blake Deserved Better T-shirt because my boy definitely did. I wish that Richard had attended because clearly Murphy is my favorite. But I got to meet these angels in person. I have to say that Marie is chaos and I love her even more. Everyone was sweet and kind. Who knows if there will be another one. No one believed there would be a 4. Yet there was one. So here is hoping! Thank you everyone for the memories and a community with unconditional love! Sorry for not continuing the tags…my memory sucks and names have changed. But I love you all!

Happy Valentine's Day! I wrote this for @johnmurphysass for the Bellarke Valentine's Exchange 2023. It was a lot of fun and quite a challenge to write, and it turned out much longer than I initially planned. Anywho... Enjoy!

Meet Me at Midnight

Present Day

“Do you think Bellamy will propose tonight?”

Of all the things Clarke expected to come out of Roan Frost’s mouth at 9:17 on a Tuesday morning—before she’s even two sips into her much-needed coffee—that wouldn’t have even cracked her top fifty. She glared over the top of her laptop at her cubical mate. Roan smirked knowingly; he had a knack for pushing her buttons and took a distinct pleasure in doing so. The less caffeine in her system, the more potent the blow.

She took another gulp of her coffee and said, “What if I was planning to ask him?”

Roan shrugged, unbothered. “Okay, were you planning to ask him?”

Clarke frowned. She had kicked the idea around for the last few months but had not formed any concrete plans. A lot of her ideas were time-sensitive. Others were too cheesy, and she immediately discarded them like an ill-formed sketch. So, as of February 14, 2023, she had yet to make a definitive plan to propose to Bellamy Blake.

“I’ll take your silence as a ‘no,’” Roan said, turning back to his computer screen.

“It’s not that I don’t want to,” she found herself explaining. She wanted to take that next step with Bellamy, truly. “It’s just all my ideas for how I would do it are so cliched or difficult to pull off. I’m totally stumped.”

“Can’t it just be a mature conversation between two disgustingly cute people about their future together?”

Clarke rolled her eyes. “It’s a major milestone. When it does happen, I want it to be special.”

“You’d be getting engaged; that’s inherently special.”

Clarke sighed. Roan was probably right, but she couldn’t shake the desire for some sort of sweeping romantic gesture to mark the occasion.

She glanced back up at her coworker and found him watching her with more sympathy than she was used to receiving from him. He smiled. “I don’t care who does it, but one of you needs to make the leap. Soon. Because if you don’t, I will; Bellamy is way too handsome to remain untethered like this.”

“This coming from the guy who spent all of New Year’s Eve mooning over Raven?” Clarke laughed.

“It is not unheard of to be attracted to multiple people at the same time; I contain multitudes. But speaking of overblown events attended by beautiful people,” Roan said, lounging back in his chair, “are you two still planning to come to my mother’s Valentine’s charity soiree tonight?”

Nia Frost never needed an excuse to gather Polis’s society members under her roof and ply them with the best alcohol money could buy. Most major holidays ended up being ghastly, opulent affairs, stretching long into the night, designed to raise awareness for some cause or other, giving Nia the optics of a benevolent socialite to the rest of the city. The reality was rich people rubbed elbows and cut deals to benefit themselves. Clarke had been to several of these events over the years due to her mother’s and stepfather’s prominence in Polis. Their attendance was largely a combination of a feeling of obligation and the need to mitigate the damage of their less-than-altruistic peers.

Clarke narrowed her eyes. This was the second time someone had brought up the party to her that morning; Bellamy had confirmed with her about it before he rushed off to work. “Will it be totally ridiculous?”

“Positively garish, but it could be fun. Supposedly, there will be a few surprises throughout the night,” Roan shrugged casually.

“Bell seemed eager to go this morning. But I reserve the right to bow out if it’s anything like last time.”

Roan’s grin was strangely mischievous. “Fair enough, but for some reason, I doubt it will be.”

Clarke knew it was only a matter of time before her past came back to find her. She was just waiting for the time that he found her to bring her home. She recognizes his voice the moment he starts bidding the dread settling into her stomach as her wins. Bellamy found himself at the auction by chance, but can't believe his luck as he stares at the angel on the stage. He knows that he has to win her at all cost.
