It’s a story of a crime through the eyes of a victim who managed to survive. Mariupol journalist Nadiya Sukhorukova saw hundreds of deaths in less than a month. She wrote down everything she had experienced. Nadiya’s chronicles of the blockade in social media became an opportunity to see and feel close up what saw and felt thousands of people. This is the story of a city where everything but hope has been destroyed.  “What impresses me most in this,” sais director of the film Maxim Litvynov. “Nadiya is a very kind and fair person, and my aim was to show her as such — against the darkness surrounding her from this brutal war.”

For Ingrid, the lifestyle is more than just paying homage to her ancestors—it’s a way to appreciate life and live fully in the moment.

oh, those mountains. mountains that deserve your utmost attention to drink in their offerings of ancient stories and bird's secrets. when you look at them long enough, they start to subtly dance, as if waving to you down below, reminding you of their aliveness and the wisdom in being still and patient. houses built from the same matter that nourishes the food that keeps bodies alive. deep red clay dirt, holding us safe in homes as the elements pass through the valley, entering us through the food that grows in its fertile tracts, staying under our nails so that we don't forget where we came from. they say that a huge arrow was thrown in the air at the beginning, and it would land in the most fertile soil and mark the place where the incas should settle and would thrive. and it fell in the umbligo del universo, the belly button of the world, where condors soar and mountains speak and people walk sometimes with their heads down and sometimes with their eyes to the sky, but always to the beat of the land.

Cicadas live underground as nymphs for approximately 17 years. The nymphs feed on root juice and have strong front legs for digging. In the final nymphal stages, they construct an exit tunnel to the surface and emerge. They then molt (shed their skins) on a nearby plant for the last time and emerge as adults. We were lucky enough to witness this event and wanted to share it.
