That’s crazy work fr. The only thing I’ve seen that was anywhere close to that was a Lee fic where his kids convince him to divorce his wife and then he becomes gay and hooks up with Longstreet and Jackson before setting on either an oc or the reader. Btw longstreet is a dick in that fic and breaks up with Lee over text lol
There’s an incest fic of Jefferson Davis on Ao3 I’m gonna… cry

Is it just me or does Jackson give uncanny valley vibes. I picked up this biography Rebel Yell from the library yesterday and these were some of the pictures of him.

Another thing that freaks me out is how different his front and side profiles are

Like that mf is not real because why does his front profile look like his face got flattened by a stream roller and his side profile look so pronounced and sharp

I can’t believe that Longstreet ruined his friendship with Davis over a joke. That is such a typical Longstreet moment. He just says whatever he wants and it always gets him in trouble. But tbh Civil war drama is so stupid. Like why is Davis so sensitive. If Davis existed today, he would be on the toxic gossip train fr.

This is the best edit I’ve ever seen
This was supposed to be a joke edit but I don’t think the Lincoln x Stephens doomed by the narrative yaoi is a joke anymore…

What a duo. Sherman is totally bad cop while Lincoln is good cop and together they kick ass whether that be Confederate or otherwise. Also, I love how Lincoln is completely not shocked by Sherman threatening to shoot a guy; he’s just like “oh, it’s another Tuesday”

I have seen a lot of about Grant and Lincoln but I want some Sherman and Lincoln love. Low key without Sherman and his capture of Atlanta Lincoln may not have been reelected. He came in clutch ngl.

It’s so funny to me the idea that Grant would be like “just kill me fr” when people talked too much

Grant was so funny when he was a teenager back in West Point. I mean look at this snippet of a letter he sent his cousin.

I interpret him as saying “Ugh I miss seeing girls as a boy in puberty who’s feeling horny but fuck the girls anyway here’s some great men I’ve seen”. I know our pookie would never but that’s all I can hear when I read it.
Oh here’s the rest of the letter btw

Plz Grant is so smart with that even though it’s kinda stupid ngl. I mean it sounds good, but it’s clear that he cannotttt public speak. He’s literally an npc.

Sherman edit time!
Actually I started this like a few months ago but didn’t finish until now tbh. It was based on the idea that often critics of Sherman will call him a “war criminal” and I still like him so I guess I’m in love with a criminal.

My Lee book is doing it to me again. First, it was Lee is like Lincoln and Alexander Stephens. Now I can’t tell if the author is saying Lee has clear orders or not like look at this.

Sounds like his orders are clear right? SIKE

Oh so he must’ve meant that Lee’s orders were unclear. WRONG AGAIN!

Ok that other situation must’ve been a one off thing, right? NOPE apparently that was his style all along

Please author man have mercy on my poor soul. I can’t stand this flip flopping and these are only a few examples of many. Everytime I run into it RUINS my reading experience plzzz.

Um Longstreet what about your other wife

Also this is from the essays done by Helen Dortch Longstreet, Longstreet’s 2nd wife. I wish their relationship was talked about more because it is very interesting though when I first saw the 42 year age gap I was taken aback (for reference, that means Longstreet was commanding the 1st corps at Gettysburg when Helen was just a few months old). However, from her writing it seems like Helen actually loved him and I may post some of the stuff she wrote because it is a banger.
Still, I want to know what Longstreet’s relationship with his first wife was like. It’s unfortunate that a lot of his papers got burned. I mean from him saying, at least according to Helen Longstreet, that Helen was the only person who understood him makes me think they may not have been as close. At that time, he was in the U.S. military then the Confederate army, so they might not have had a lot of time together. But apparently they had enough time and love to create 10 kids together so idk 🤷♂️.
