Just over here doing a reply as procrastination for studying. Nice to know nothing's changed in the decade since I graduated college. Anyway, I've got a certification exam on the 10th that I should have started studying for months ago and am currently in cram mode. Hoping to be back to a reasonable activity level after that.

You're not gonna find anything good in there. As if there was ever something good in there in the first place? If there was anything good in there, he might have put a dent in her defenses. Any of their defenses. Might have, for the first time in years, felt like all of this was worth something.

wires   are   fisted   in   her   palm   ,   a   collection   of   elements   and   metals   she   knows   are   hard   to   find.   she's   wandered   the   robotic   corpse   a   few   times   since   the   fight   ,   gathering   the   rare   components.   she   feels   like   a   vulture   ,   savaging.   she   doesn't   know   why   she's   doing   it.   just   that   jojo   worked   hard   on   this   one.   his   attacks   are   getting   fewer   and   longer   between   ,and   she's   starting   to   wonder   if   maybe   they   should   start   pretending   its   harder   to   kick   his   ass   than   it   is.   which   is   a   WILD   thought    —    knowing   they   pulled   their   punches   would   just   drag   jojo   down   farther. 

what   else   can   she   do   ? 

he's   going   to   leave.   the   idea   settles   into   her   chest   like   lead   ,   like   being   shot.   he's   going   to   leave.   there's   nothing   here   for   him.   nothing   GOOD   anyway.   fights   he   can't   win   and   a   significant   other   that   revels   in   his   pain.   he's   going   to   leave.   maybe   it's   not   a   thought   he's   had   yet.   maybe   he   doesn't   know   that's   where   he's   headed.   but   she   recognizes   the   distant   look   in   his   eye.   after   a   fight   ,   he   used   to   be   rejuvenated    —    almost   eager   for   the   next   one.   briefly   put   out   that   this   plan   didn't   work   ,   but   excited   for   the   next   one.   full   of   ideas   and   willing   to   try   them   all.   he   hasn't   looked   like   that   in   a   while.   he   just   looks   . . .   sad.   overwhelmed.   like   he's   given   all   he   had   and   he's   scraping   the   bottom   of   the   barrel. 

they've   been   at   this   for   twenty   years   now. 

“   bubbles   is   on   pickle   duty   tonight   ,   ”   she   says.   she's   not   sure   if   that's   a   joke   or   not.   it   IS   bubbles'   turn   on   patrol.   buttercup   nods   at   the   rubble.   “   you're   not   gonna   find   anything   good   in   there.   ”   she   put   it   in   his   lab   ,   but   he   probably   hasn't   checked.

Came home to a massive leak in my apartment last week. So how's ya'll's 2025 going so far? Also work is hell. Currently staying at my parents and I wanted to rp but my muse icons are only on my pc while my mun icons are in my onedrive. No idea why I haven't fixed this problem before now. So yeah. But still, somehow, the charred remains of his latest failure haven't been touched by the city clean up crew. Probably budget cuts. Again. But there might be something useful buried in this pile of scrap, so he won't complain about the fiscal malfeasance for now.
