Listen, I know the Smurfs were BIG, I respect their history, but I feel like there's an ongoing psyop trying to convince me that everyone's always still talking about and thinking about the smurfs.

The capitulation of liberals to the debate about abortion being concerned with the amorphous christian concept of when "life" begins was such a huge mistake and made the conversation about something it seriously fucking isn't. Legal precedent should have always been based on the concepts of bodily autonomy, because that argument is CORRECT and if established then it would be unassailable. You cannot impel a person to sustain another "life" via their body. It is a human right and has been since the concept of medical personhood has been understood. Instead of that conversation, they allowed it to become about whether or not a fetus is a person (it's not). The legal status of the soul of a fertilized egg has always been a concession to the injection of christian philosophy being used as a debate in legal definitions. It NEVER should have been the question. The question is whether or not a pregnant person has to allow their body to be used to sustain fetal development against their will. And the answer is fucking no. That is illegal and a violation of human rights.
