More Popular Betting terms explained – Part 2
Round Robin
A bet consisting of 10 bets (3 pairs of “single stake” bets plus 3 doubles and 1 treble) involving three selections in different events.
Sacked Manager
This one has become popular in recent years, with the regularity that managers are now sacked from their jobs in the top league, especially the Premier League. Most betting sites have this market, where you can bet on which manager will be sacked next from their job in the league.
 Score Cast/Win Cast
This is when you stake on who will be the first player to score as well as on the exact final result.
 Shoo In
A supposed cinch bet or guaranteed victor. Also, a fixed outcome. (US)
 Single
A “straight” bet on one selection to win. The simplest bet to place and the most common.
 Specials
Specials are all the weird and wonderful types of bets offered by the bookmaker. They are considered as separate to the normal types of bets you often find, and normally include markets such as the time of the first goal by time interval, the time of the last goal, anytime own goals, clean sheets or penalties. You’ll find that different operators will have their own selection of specials bet types so it’s well worth having a good look around to see what’s on offer. Either way they allow you to bet on some of the more obscure variables that football matches can often produce and add an extra element of excitement to your stakes.
 Sure Thing
Any bet that has very little chance of losing.
 Punter
UK term for someone who has a bet (US =”bettor”).
 Push
When neither side wins the game. A tie. All money will be returned to the bettors.
 Red Card Y/N
Here is where you’re able to stake on how many red cards you think a game will produce. This can be a particularly useful option in fierce derby games.
 Roundabout
A stake consisting of 3 bets involving 3 selections in different events (i.e. 1 single and to come and double stake double on remaining two selections, 3 times).
  System
A method of betting, usually mathematically based, used by a punter to try for an advantage.
 Top Scorer
This is one of the very popular betting terms being used these days. Here, you simply choose which player you think will be the top scorer of the season and win the coveted golden boot. This can be done at the start of the season or during it, but of course, the odds for the likely winner will shrink throughout the season if they are near the top scorer list.
 Teaser
A pointspread based bet where the punter can move the line in his favour (in return for reduced odds).
 Tips
The selections recommended by an expert to bet on (also known as “picks”).
 Tipster
A person who makes a recommendation on the outcome of matches to punters.
 Totals
Sports bet on whether the total score will be over/under a given mark.
 Treble
A bet consisting of 3 selections, all of which must win for the stake to be successful.
 Trixie
A multiple bet consisting of 4 bets (3 doubles and 1 treble) with 3 selections in different events.
 Team to Score Yes/No
Here is when you bet on whether you think a team will score a goal or not.
 Tournament Winner
This is the most straightforward and most common outright bet type there is. A tournament winner bet type is where you stake on a team to win a tournament or competition.
 Transfers
This is another one that has grown in popularity. It’s straightforward; you simply bet on what transfers you think are going to happen.
 Value
Getting the best odds on a stake.
1X2 refers to the practice of picking a home win (1), away win (2) or a draw (X).

More Popular Betting terms explained
Outright Betting
Outright betting is one of the most straight-forward bet types there are. Here, you now have the option to stake on alternative markets such as which players will get transferred at the end of the season, which managers will get the boot, and which sides you think will be relegated or promoted. Outright bets are normally placed before the season or competition starts, but they can also be placed while it’s already underway.
Over/Under
One of the very popular betting terms known to seasoned bettors. There are lots of different kind of stats that fall into this category, especially when it comes to online football betting. An over/under bet type could apply to the number of goals, the number of cards, corners or even the number of fouls. What you’re doing here is staking on whether or not you think a statistic will be over or under a given figure.
Parlay
A term for an accumulator bet in the US. Also, a stake on two or more teams in which both must win or “cover” for the bet to be lucrative.
Patent
A multiple bet consisting of 7 bets involving 3 selections in different events. A single on each selection, plus 3 doubles and 1 treble.
Penalties
Depending on the bookmaker, special penalties markets can differ. Whereas some may allow you bet on whether or not the game will produce a penalty, others will allow you to bet on which team you think it will be to and whether or not it will be converted.
Long Odds
Odds (e.g. 100 to 1) offered against a team or play unlikely to win or occur.
Longshot
The outsider or unfancied team, usually against which “long odds” have been offered.
 Minute Markets
Minute Markets allow you to stake on events such as the number goals, the number of corners, fouls or sometimes even shots that will take place within a given time period. These time periods vary from bookmaker to bookmaker. However, they will normally be set at either 10 or 15-minute intervals.
 Odds
The bookmaker’s view of the chance of a team winning or event happening (adjusted to include a profit).
Odds-against
Where the odds are greater than evens (eg “5 to 2”).
 Odds-on
Where the odds are shorter than evens (eg “4 to 6”). If the selection wins, the amount won is less than the amount staked (don’t forget, you get your stake
back as well!).Odd/Even
This is simply when you stake on whether the total number of goals produced in a game will be an on or an even number.
 Permutations
It is possible to “perm” bets or selections (e.g. on 4 selections all the possible doubles could be “permed” making 6 bets).
Picks
Also known as “tips”, picks are the recommended bets from an “expert”.
Promotion and Relegation
This is where you simply bet on which team(s) you think will be promoted or relegated at the end of the season. You can bet on a single or combine different teams that you think will be promoted or relegated as an accumulator.

Man City out
“We are still in the Champions League,” Guardiola asserted. This was last Friday, after just the first episode of City’s horror trilogy. “So, next Tuesday night, I invite you to see a magnificent game here at the Etihad Stadium. Afterwards, you can ask me the question and I am going to analyse about the Champions League if it’s good enough or not enough.”
So, after the nightmare defeat to Manchester United and the frantic but ultimately failed turnaround against Liverpool, where exactly is Guardiola’s Manchester City project right now?
Guardiola was not exactly open with his answers when the inquest came on Tuesday night, but his position was clear.
Castles did not take up his invite but there were plenty of searching questions from other members of the press. Guardiola batted away the first, and all that followed.
“We make 10 months, my friend, amazingly,” he argued. “I would say the exceptional thing is, in 10 months, just losing one game. Winning and winning and winning. That is exceptional.”
Guardiola was clearly saving his criticisms for the confines of the dressing room, if he had any at all.
He did not admit to any concerns that his players were tired, either physically or emotionally, and he did not entertain the idea that their reaction to adversity in these past three games has been poor.
Instead, he repeatedly referred back to City’s fine season overall. With plenty focusing on their recent struggles, he was probably right to do so. After all, only a remarkable collapse – a failure to actually clinch the Premier League title – could seriously tarnish this season.

Popular Betting terms explained
Heinz
A multiple bet consisting of 57 bets (15 doubles, 20 trebles, 15 4-folds, 6 5-folds and 1 6-fold) involving 6 teams in different matches.
Futures
Odds offered on winners of sporting events in advance of the event itself (see Ante Post).
Goals Markets(GG)
Goals betting markets allow you to stake on variables such as who will score, who will score first, and whether or not both teams will manage to score.
Goals
With over and under goals bet types you’re staking on how many goals you think there will be in a game. These are normally broken down into 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5, 4.3, and 5.5 margins. You can bet on whether you think the game will produce over or under 0.5 goals, over or under 2.5, 3.5, and so on and so on.
For each goal margin, you choose to stake for, add a 0.5 margin to that stake. If the final goals outcome in the football game matches or exceeds your stake type plus the added 0.5 margin, then you are a winner.
Goliath
A multiple consisting of 247 bets (28 doubles, 56 trebles, 70 4-folds, 56 5-folds, 28 6-folds, 8 7-folds and 1 8-fold) involving 8 selections in different events.
Halftime bet
A bet made after the first half ended and before the second half begins (football and basketball primarily). The oddsmaker generally starts with half of the game side/total and adjusts based on what happened in the first half.
Handicap Betting
A handicap bet involves one team starting the game with more or fewer points as to try to even out the advantage that one team has over the other. There are different forms of handicap bets as shown below.
 Handicap (HH)
This where you give a stronger team lesser points against a lesser team. You can give -1 to -10 if you think your team will beat their opponent with a 2 – 11 goals margin to win the football match in 90 minutes play.
Handicapper
A person trying to predict the winners of an event.
Juice
The commission paid to the bookmaker (also known as over round).
Lock
Sure or easy winner.
Long Odds
If the selection wins, the amount won is less than the amount staked (don’t forget, you get your stake
back as well!).
First Goal Scorer
A first “goal scorer” bet is when you guess which player will hit the back of the net first. If any other player beats your selection to the task, then your bet is a failure.
Fold
A fold indicates the number of selections in an accumulator (e.g. 5-Fold = 5 selections).
Form
Past performances used to give an indication of the team’s chances.
Form Player
A punter who makes selections from past performance (often via a computer-based system).

2018 World Cup Preview and Team Analysis: Group E
Yesterday, we analysed the teams in groups C and D. Today in our 2018 World Cup Preview, we will be focusing on teams in group E
  GROUP E BRAZIL
The Selecao are the most successful team in the World Cup history, having won it on 5 occasion. They are also the only team to appear in every edition since its inception in 1930.
They were the first country to qualify for Russia. Their talisman Neymar, who has been out for three months though back injury in training will definitely be influential when they kick off their campaign. The question is, will he be fully fit? Remember Germany spanked them by Seven goals to One in the semi finals of the last World Cup when he was injured in the quarter finals.
Dani Alves will be missed after he was injured in a league match for PSG. They still have a good back up in Danilo. The surprise omission in the squad has to be David Luiz. This is not unconnected to the fact that he didn’t get enough playing minutes during the EPL season.
Managed by Tite, the Brazillian national team have really shown in a short period the reason why they are being considered favorites to win the world cup
The star studded team includes the likes of Casemiro, Gabriel Jesus, Marcelo, Paulinho etc.
They should easily top their group an even make it as far as the finals
  COSTA RICA
The Los Ticos finished second to Mexico in the Concafa region to qualify for Russia. Last time in Brazil, they surprised all odds to finish top in the group of death that had Italy, England and Uruguay and made it as far to the quarter finals.
Not much is known about the team, but they have Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas to rely on, Bryan Luiz who is on the verge of having the most caps for the National team and Joel Campbell of Arsenal who was shipped on loan to Real Betis to get the goals for them.
We don’t fancy their chances to progress pass the group stage
 SWITZERLAND
The Swiss set a record in Germany 2006 where they didn’t concede a goal till they were eliminated by Ukraine via penalty shoot out in the round of 16.
Their best appearance in the World Cup is reaching the quarter finals and it was last achieved in 1954.
They missed out on automatic qualification to Portugal via goal difference, they defeated Northern Ireland by a lone goal in the two legged play offs through a controversial penalty converted by Ricardo Rodriguez.
Their squad include Murphy Akanji who is a defender alongside Johan Djourou, Stephan Lichtsteiner, Granit Xhaka distributing in the middle though he had an injury scare few days ago. There is also Vahlon Behrami shielding the back four and the diminutive Shaqiri causing havoc down the wings. They will be relying heavily on Josep Drmic and Breel Embolo for goals.
They are not expected to make it pass the round of 16
  SERBIA
The Eagles were formerly known as Yugoslavia, later changed to Serbia and Montenegro till the 2006 independent referendum that split them to two countries.
Their last appearance in the Mundial was in 2010 and couldn’t make it past the group stage.
They qualified for Russia after topping their group that had the likes of Austria, Wales and Ireland.
They have an in form Aleksander Mitrovic, Nemanja Matic, Branislav Ivanovic, Aleksander Kolarov, Dusan Tadic, Luka Milivojevic that hardly misses a penalty kick and other fine players.
The 2nd position in this group should be between them and Switzerland.

2018 World Cup Preview and Team Analysis: Group F
As we continue with our 2018 world cup preview series, we will be focusing on the teams in group F today. Don’t forget to check out our 2018 World Cup preview yesterday that was teams in group E
GROUP F GERMANY
How can a country send a B team to a tournament with players that have less than 20 caps individually and still win that tournament? Germany simply answers the question.
They are the only country to win both Male and Female World Cup.
This is a team that qualified for the World Cup with a perfect 10 wins out of 10 while scoring a joint European-record 43 goals.
The Die Mannschaft is the most complete team heading to Russia, they are blessed with fantastic players and don’t rely on any individual to make the difference. They include Jérôme Boateng, Mats Hummels, Manuel Neuer, Toni Kroos, Mesut Özil, Thomas Müller, Mario Götze, Ilkay Gündogan, Marco Reus and Sami Khedira
The defending champions are expected to make it all the way to the finals and even the tournament again.
But one of our experts at Jolloftips pointed a worrying pattern with the last 4 defending champions. They all have had poor showings during their title defence. Will this present German team break this bad luck? We will have to wait and see
  SWEDEN
Their best performance was finishing as runners-up in the 1958 World Cup they hosted.
They are basically the reason the Azzurri of Italy failed to make it to Russia after beating them by a lone goal in the Playoffs.
Though the poster boy Zlatan Ibrahimovic retired two years ago, the coach refused to recall him for the Mundial. They still boast of players like Lindelof, Emil Forsberg, John Guidetti and Ola Toivonen.
Despite winning against Italy in the playoffs, much is not expected from them to be honest. The group stage exit is what we are predicting.
 SOUTH KOREA
The Taegeuk Tigers are a major force in the Asian continent, their best finish came in 2002 when they co-hosted the World Cup with Japan where they finished 4th, the best ever by an Asian side.
Though it was littered with controversial decisions by the referees like the round of 16 match against Italy where Totti was sent off and the quarter-final where Spain had three goals chalked off.
They qualified second in a group that had Iran and Uzbekistan.
Will rely on the experience of Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-Yeung and goals from Tottenham Hotspur Son Heung-Min.
We don’t fancy their chances of making it past the group stage.
  MEXICO
The Tri-Color has been consistent in qualifying for the Mundial since 1994 and has made it past the group stage in the 6 outings, they have hosted the World Cup twice in 1970 and 1986.
The Mexican team should be underestimated at one’s peril. They are a compact team with a blend of experience and youth.
The ever-agile Guillermo Ochoa of Standard Liege is a good goalkeeper on a good day. Miguel Layun of Seville is a prowling defender with an eye for goals, Hector Moreno of Real Sociedad is as rugged as needed. Jonathan dos Santos is a reliable defensive midfielder who keeps it tight, tidy and simple at the back.
His brother, Giovanni who incidentally plays in the same team with him at LA galaxy was tipped for great things but is gradually rediscovering his form. He can create havoc with his menacing runs from the heart of the park. Andres Guardado of Real Betis and Rafael Marquez of Club Atlas are the veteran’s of the team and bring a certain balance when needed.
In attack, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez of West Ham is a fox in the box and can guarantee goals when it matters. Raul Jimenez of Benfica is prolific in the air and Irving Lozano of PSV Eindhoven is a predatory striker who can bang in the goals when called upon.
This team have gelled over time, they have bonded and they understand themselves as evident in the Confederations Cup.
We hope to see them in the round of 16.

Using cutting edge algorithm that’s closely monitored round the clock by a team of well dedicated staff, we are able to provide you with accurate predictions of matches from over 30 leagues around the world. This will be achieved through proper research and analysis of teams, leagues, player forms, injury status, team history, coach history / success rate, player availability and a lot of data relating to the sports. Our goal is to enable our customers tap into the ever growing world of sports betting and get optimal returns from investing in their passion.
Punters are being ripped off by top bookies who advertise bets at unfair odds which guarantee massive profits for them, but massive losses for the punters.
Sportsmail discovered a number of dirty tricks and unfair practise used by online betting companies to restrict the bets of successful gamblers, including closing their accounts. These unethical practices have made over £14.5billion in the UK last year for these gambling companies at the expense of avid bettors.
The practices are not limited to rogue operators but widespread in the industry. Our investigators found evidence of astonishingly high-margin football markets offered this month by the UK’s top five high street firms — Ladbrokes, Coral, William Hill, Paddy Power and Betfred.
The Betting and Gaming Council admitted that some companies limit customers betting online, but claimed this mainly targets professional gamblers.
It was observed that;
·         Bookmakers are engineering markets to give them staggering profit margins of more than 100 per cent on the most popular football bets. In contrast, a casino’s margin on a roulette table is 2.7 per cent.
·         The same bookies spend millions marketing specially created bets — usually accumulators — which maximise profits by denying punters fair odds if they win.
·         Online gambling firms rank customers using sophisticated software, allowing them to limit amounts bet by successful gamblers, even closing accounts.
·         Losing customers can be given VIP status and offered special privileges such as hospitality at sporting events, holidays and free bets to encourage them to continue gambling.
·         Gambling firms use stalling tactics to stop customers withdrawing money, demanding financial details such as employment history and National Insurance numbers, with the result that the winnings can be lost during the delay.
The number of complaints to the Gambling Commission about bookies’ behaviour has doubled in the last three years.

Tottenham Players turn on Jose Mourinho
Seems like the “love story” between Jose Mourinho and his Spurs players have finally come to an end. This recent development can mostly be attributed to a run of poor results which is a far cry from the initial run of good results that the team experienced when Jose Mourinho was newly appointed.
Spurs have not won any of their last four Premier League games and are currently nine points off the Champions League spot as they go into their midweek match against Norwich
They have lost to both Liverpool and Southampton recently and were held by Norwich and Watford, and this poor form has made the dressing room quite uncomfortable for both the players and the coach

The players have become disgruntled with is tactics and constant criticism of Tanguy Ndombele, who Jose Mourinho claims to be only good enough for the bench. Even Danny Rose has come under fire as well which led to his exclusion against Watford. The players also complained of his long-ball training sessions.
After several years with Pochetinno and his swashbuckling style of play, it is not so difficult to understand the Spurs players who believe Jose’s tactics are primitive and too mechanical.
The need for a replacement for the injured Harry Kane must also be weighing heavily on the coach and his loss is evident on their recent results. Jose is very keen to get a good replacement within the present transfer window. Edinson Cavani of PSG and AC Milan’s Krzysztof Piatek have been linked to the club in recent weeks

Alexis Sanchez
Alexis Sanchez aka ‘El Nino Maravilla’, was born in Chile on 19th December 1988. He is a Christian, Sagittarius, loves dogs (he REALLY loves his dogs). He has two dogs named Atom and Humber. His favourite colour is white.
He is currently dating Mayte Rodriguez, a model and actress and his best friend is Mesut Ozil despite the fact that they once played for either of two fiercest rivals in the La Liga.
He grew up poor, playing bare-footed in the mining city of Tocopilla, in Northern Chile and was abandoned by his father when he was a toddler. Alexis’ mother was a cleaner and worked other jobs to take care of him. Alexis washed cars when he was 6 and always visit neighbours for food when he goes hungry. He also performs somersaults for onlookers for tips. As a result of this type of background, he made it a priority to buy presents for the local kids every Christmas and has built 2 football pitches for children to play football in his town in Chile.
Martin Keown described Sanchez as the “biggest mercenary in football” after accusing Sanchez of moving to Manchester United instead of a Pep-managed Manchester City for money reasons. Both clubs have in the past indicated interest in signing Sanchez from Udinese but he wanted Barcelona. Barcelona signed him and he became the first Chilean to play for the club. Sanchez chose to leave Arsenal for the “same reason” reason” Thierry Henry quit the club for Barcelona in 2007, when the Frenchman signalled his desire to challenge for the biggest trophies.
It is believed Alexis Sanchez current luxury house is worth £1,995,000 and apart from the usual amenities, the mansion boasts five double bedrooms, a cinema room, sun terrace, piano room with bar, a mini-football pitch with real-life goal post and a detached three car garage with a gym above.
