Additionally, let’s talk about what I want to do with my life. Honesty, I’m not sure. I entered into grad school because I really don’t know which aspect of art I want to pursue. In a field teeming with opportunity, I find myself paralyzed by the amount of choices.
I guess this is something I’ve always sort of suffered from. I’m hoping Tracking the Artists Way helps me really hone in on what I want to do, and really holding myself accountable by making art daily will help improve my art in the meantime.
I want to pursue teaching in the far future. I've always wanted to teach people what I know, so it's important to me that I know plenty so I don't look inept or unprofessional in a few years. Short term I'd like to pursue graphic design in some capacity, such as illustrative design or book cover artistry or packaging design. The world is wide and I am small. Eat me
Really edgy, millennial sense of humor with graphic design that really makes you laugh from your nose. I love an artist who doesn't give a shit about expectations or portrayal. As a designer its rough to feel perfect and careful all the time.
I grew up with this show, it inspired my love for character design and emotional growth. It's hard to find shows that capture LGBTQIA characters in a way that is both beautiful and heartbreaking. Throughout this show, you grow with the characters. They teach you lessons about yourself and those around you. This show is perfect for kids and it is perfect for adults. The music in this show is absolutely insane, and the animation is personal and gorgeous. Favorite show of all time. This show showcases growing and healing from your trauma, and it is absolutely apparent.
The cinematography in this show is absolutely insane, and the color theory is desaturated in all the right spots. It's camera work changes based on the state of mind of the protagonist. When we are kept at a distance, this isn't an experience we can understand. When we are staring directly into the face of the protagonist, we feel everything she feels, and hear everything she thinks. The amount of alluring overhead shots in this show are insane and beautiful and heartbreaking all at once. It's almost as if these are weak, powerless ants we are looking down upon and the cinematography of this show is absolutely wonderful.
Roma Is another movie that relies heavily on saturation, framing, and sound design to really build a powerful movie. Amongst all the fighting is a story about a woman going through the motions of her life, preparing for motherhood, and trying to keep a family together. As viewers, the cinematography of this movie keeps us at a distance, telling us that despite the empathy we may feel, it is not our story and we will always be onlookers to the tragedy. This movie has no score and an almost entirely silent protagonist, yet it captures many different emotions through its cinematography.
