All six covers Reilly did for the ‘Til Death Do Us... crossover!

Here are all six of my covers for the current Deadpool crossover.  It was a fun challenge to do all of these connecting covers in a way that they work as a single image, as individual images, and also in a way that shows the cast of the each book on their own cover. It was a ton of work, but in the end I’m really happy with how they turned out! For all of these, lines by me, and colors by Jim Charalampidis.

I mean.  That’s a really cynical take on things.

Jordan; Sorry that you have to deal with people being rude/hateful. Thank you for being available for questions. Do you suppose that some of the frustration about characters is due to the nature of Marvel canon? That is, for example, I HATE the current Captain America story, so I choose not to read it or support it. It's not my canon. But even after this story ends, it will always be part of his canon. Future stories can reference it. It is part of him from now on. And that for me is even worse.

Well, if that is how you feel then, in your case, that is definitely part of the problem. 

I don’t feel that way, myself. There are AWFUL things that have been done in Spider-Man comics that I think were HUGE MISTAKES. But you move past them, and for the most part they are not referenced that much. And even when they are…it’s just not as bad, the further you get from it. As long as more good stories are being made in the time afterwards, it’s not as big of a deal. All the stories are part of the characters, both the lame ones and the great ones…and not everyone agrees on which are which. The Ben Reilly stuff in Spider-Man was hugely unpopular–chased away tons of readers from the book. But there are people who ADORE it.

What’s the alternative? Reboot the books every once in a while and start from scratch? For my part, I would not be very interested in that. There are cartoons and movies that reboot the characters if people are that interested in new versions…I am glad that the Peter Parker I read about now is the same one I read about when I was a kid…even if it DOES mean Gwen Stacy slept with Norman Osborn. >Shudder<

Out Today: The Wicked + the Divine #27, Doctor Aphra #5 and Uber Invasion #4

Big week, which basically all my main books out. Firstly, there’s THE WICKED + THE DIVINE 27, which is the penultimate issue in IMPERIAL PHASE (Part 1) and where things get all messy. We are deep down this particular hole now. There are three covers ,and the one above is a charity cover for Planned Parernthood.

Also penultimate issue, where Aphra’s journey in to the Citadel of Rur goes entirely normally and nothing goes wrong.

“The Terror of Planet X” hits shelves today from me, Chad Bowers, and David Baldéon, with 30 pages of monster fighting action, and it was super fun to write. I mean, when you have a crossover that’s built entirely around the Marvel Monsters and you get the book that actually has one of the Marvel Monsters on the team, that’s something to make a big deal out of, right? So we went into it with the idea of tying the Leviathons attacking Earth back to Groot, asking the question of what scares you when you’re the monster.
