A few days ago I got a call that my son had fallen 2 stories from a bedroom window on his head onto a concrete surface. He was air lifted to Iowa City with a fractured skull, fractures along side & under both eyes but most of the damage is to the left side of his face where he landed, and a bruised lung It was a truly scary and traumatic experience but today he was moved from PICU to a regular room and if nothing else needs to be done then he will get to come home without any major surgeries and more than likely all medications will be available over the counter. I didn’t want to speak on much until I had a more complete idea as far as what was going on and the severity of it but I’m just thankful that my son is here and doing much better considering the circumstances.
