I no longer remember how long it's been since I bought the first volume of this but I finally got around to reading it and it was pretty neat. Not what I expected at all, but neat.

Okay here's the backstory I watched this movie all the time as a kid and played the Xbox 360 tie-in game a fuck ton. Also watched the second movie once and didn't really like it and have never seen the third movie. I watched a few episodes of one of the TV series but barely gave a shit either. In the several years since I watched like the schafrillas videos about how these movies are masterpieces and they've sort of occupied a space in the far far back of my mind since then, even though I stopped watching schafrillas years ago also. Couple days ago I saw the Xbox 360 game in cex or something and got nostalgic. And so that's where we're at.

Anyway all that to say I watched Kung Fu Panda, and it was fine. Pretty good even. Lots of scenes that have become iconic for a reason and a simple well written narrative that's easy for kids to enjoy, and holds up enough for adults to have fun with. Tai Lung aura farming and all that. Will say as an adult I didn't really have a lot of fun with the humour, I kinda don't think Jack Black is very funny and most of the jokes in the movie are some twist on Po fat. Even if you generously adore fatphobia for whatever reason they're just not actually that funny past the age of like 10. No hate on a kids movie for being a kids movie, but it was indeed kiddy to such a degree that I didn't love it. Oh well.

Will say I don't really remember what I had against the second movie, but from memory it was a little more complex in its writing and had a little less focus on the humour, so perhaps that's where it failed kid me, but the adult me might like it a lot more? I'm gonna watch it anyway, should give the third one a shot as well. Fourth is a lot more up in the air because I've heard nothing but bad things, but perhaps idle curiosity will get the better of me. Of course the real fun will be playing that Xbox 360 game again. Can't wait.

Do you commonly fantasize about violence?

like honestly no, it definitely sometimes happens but really not often enough for the word "common" to take place. Actually think the most violent thing that I regularly fantasise about in any sense is like if a car drives past me while I'm on the pavement and the car is particularly near said pavement I might just imagine getting hit. Not even in like a "man I want a car to hit me" way just in like a "wow they were a little fucking close for comfort" sort of way.

Was thinking about NiGHTS again and then spent like an hour trying to get the mobile version of NiGHTS Dream Wheel working just to be able to say I've played it even thouhg it's a fucking slot machine and I was like between 5 different things I had to do download as well as making another google account because apparently my other JP account doesn't think it's JP anymore and then for all that fucking effort I never got it to work and it just kept kicking me into a Kaiji slot machine instead mfw

Mugwatch! Is this. Which I've never seen before, yeah. I imagine a few years back I'd have been more fond on this first episode although admittedly I'm like really jaded on military setups at this point, you can be military and have me love you you just need to dance around it like crazy, but this doesn't. But the setting is pretty funny and the girls are cute, so we roll.

Fucker I JUST made my tier list

Okay so this is a like pretty good Eggman mech imo, appears to be based off of the one he uses in the first episode of Prime, although in making it a lot more red and adding in like the yellow and black construction stripe thingies it looks a lot more game Eggman-esque which I respect. You can pretend Knuckles is riding extreme gear although that huge fist looks dumb. Rock catapult is like sure whatever. Seems like a solid kids set, not really something I'm interested in getting at all though.

This I kinda hard don't care about. I like the Burrowbot and Caterkiller builds, the latter quite a lot actually - but like. A truck? The command truck. I think this is a type of playset that exists in a lot of Lego lines because it's a pretty replicable design and tbf the play sort of explains itself. You've got a big vehicle that opens up into a little like hangout spot for the characters. In this case it's under attack so Tails can roll out a smaller vehicle to help fight back. There's some neat references, your 1991 license plate and I genuinely like the Chao Garden print at the back. But. A truck. This is like the Knuckles Guardian Mech all over again where it just doesn't fit in lmao. Not quite as bad as that, but yeah. Hard pass.

And that's our sets! They both look quite nice tbf and seem to be at decent price points, very obvious play value as well for kids. But yk, I'm here for, uh, not that. Moreover, no new minifigures this wave. I think this is the first wave that hasn't had any new minifigures whatsoever? I don't quite remember. I mean maybe that Tails expression is new idfk. Should still have a Brickhead to see this year which I will hate and an 18+ set that may or may not actually be real. We'll see.

I think I've settled on Kita as being my favourite Bocchi character and to that end I need season 2 immediately so I can have more of her

It's insane to me that I forgot the events of the cultural festival performance in Bocchi proper like the crowd surf failure dominated my memory of that scene and it took the recap to remind me that wait this is one of the strongest singular scenes this decade of anime and it makes me tear up even thinking about it

Watched a video with classic Sonic gameplay, the guy flubbed a jump, I thought "I would make that" and then I spent like the entire rest of the video very consciously just mentally playing back the gameplay footage as though I was the one playing and all the decisions I'd make accordingly. I think I play these games too much.

I've been keeping up with the early game dailies in Magia Exedra just fine but I only just today played up to, uh, Gertrud, which like lol that sure took me a minute. Mostly just because I had other stuff on but I do have to say Exedra really is just a little bit boring huh. Oh well.

I did pull Tsuruno off of a key today so that was neat.
