The best way to see the Living Walls murals is with a couple hundred other art lovers on bikes. Add a few beers with friends at Midway and you have the makings of a pretty damn great day. @maryrebecca @livingwallsatl #lw2012 #livingwallsatl #livingwalls2012 #atlanta #cycling #streetart (Taken with Instagram)

My son Elisha brought all of his drawings to the park the other day. He spread them out and offered to sign them for anyone who wanted one. Free of charge. He also did an extra one on the spot because a little boy wanted one but he didn't have enough. I had no idea he had planned this but, needless to say I was really proud. My organization Trashwater just returned from a trip to Nicaragua where we installed a water filtration system at a school for kids living in La Chureca, the dump. We were very excited to be able to partner with @ladykategazaway (pictured here with one of the children from the school where we worked) and her organization Picture Change. Picture Change takes donated digital cameras and uses them to teach kids in developing nations perspective and technique as well as a new way to see their world and tell their stories. Kate will only be in Nicaragua for a couple more weeks but she will be continuing her work in India this summer. If you have an old, working digital camera that you're not using anymore please consider donating it to Kate. I've seen the work she does with these kids firsthand and it's incredible unique and meaningful. For more information on Kate's work and details on where to send your cameras check out the Picture Change page on Facebook. Thanks guys! (Taken with Instagram at La Chureca, Nicaragua)

One of the little girls from the school in La Chureca (the dump) where we installed the filtration system. Out of the 1,000 plus people who live in Central America's largest dump over 50% are under the age of 18. Having spent the past week there I can tell you the need is vast and pervasive. It breaks my heart that we can't do more for the community but, at least I know this little girl and her schoolmates will have sustainable access to clean water from now on. I'm not looking for a pat on the back or praise here. I just want to encourage people that if I can do something then so can they. it really doesn't take that much. #lachureca #nicaragua #nica (Taken with Instagram at La Chureca, Nicaragua)

It was a truly wonderful day in Nicaragua. We (Trashwater) spent the day installing a water filtration system at the school in La Chureca (the dump). This school offers a safe place for pre-school and elementary aged kids like the ones in this photo to learn, get two meals a day, and have a shot at a life outside the dump. For the kids who want to go to high school there is a scholarship. As we feared, the water, which comes through pipes under mountains of trash, was full of bacteria, viruses, and parasites. We are thrilled to have been able to work with the school and locals to install a state-of-the-art filtration system that will eliminate exposure to water borne illness for these wonderful kids. There is a ton of work left to do in the future and we'll be back this summer to continue it but we're happy with the foundation we laid today. Until then, there's more to be done here in Nica next week. Keep up with us on our Facebook page and thanks to our amazing friends for their support. (Taken with Instagram at La Chureca, Nicaragua)
