Real-world building limitations you apply to Sims houses even though you don't have to?

It's always funny noticing the things you do in the Sims - sometimes without knowing - even though there's no gameplay benefit (and sometimes it's even detrimental).

Here are some of mine:

Bedrooms legally all have to have at least one window that leads to the outside which is big enough to theoretically climb out of, for fire rescue/escape (though of course, people make their own illegal "renovations" all the time, and who's gonna know if you put a bed in your "home office"...)

Kitchen sinks are facing a window where possible. This isn't based on any building code (that I know of) it's just nice to have something to look at when you're stuck doing dishes even if Sims don't care

Upper floors/balconies have to appear reasonably supported underneath (I think most people do this - though "floating" levels have interesting applications too)

When building commercial lots or apartment buildings, I try to use those exit signs/lights wherever it makes sense, with consideration to Sim line of sight

was in a building mood so this happened! part 1

Sims 4 is heavily hinting at "raccoons in a trench coat" as an npc in either the upcoming EP (very likely) or an update (not as likely). And some players are starting to speculate this is gonna be the Sims 4 equivalent of burglars. which a lotta ppl are unhappy about for understandable reasons.

In TS1, there was a raccoon npc that would knock over trash bins. this... might be S4's equivalent to that? But if it is? That... uh... shows you how COOKED AND LAZY THIS GAME IS. And it sucks too 'cos everyone's gonna see this and just think oh, it's quirky!! how funny!! 5 raccoons in a trench coat??? S4 is SO unserious!!

but no. It is laziness disguised as quirkiness. The thing is, in TS1, it was an ACTUAL RACCOON that came by and messed with the trash. This, though? This is MUCH easier to do than modeling and animating a raccoon, as well as programming unique behaviors. Because this is literally just a Sim model but with a costume slapped on to it.

Though... there is ALSO the chance that this will double as both "El Bandito" and "Some Sneaky Sim (the burglar" from Sims 1. Especially since they had the same jingle theme in that game.

Especially with all the raccoon references... with some even wearing the burglar's shirt? (or somethin similar). if... if... if they really are... gonna do this... I might stop playing this game. Which sounds silly. But... it's not the racoon, but the racoon is a small part of a much larger issue. Which that is the total sanitization of this game.

Like this game is SO afraid of doing anything that might be too "meanspirited," or "too scary," or anything that isn't "cozy". The reason they're using a raccoon in place the burglar ISN'T just to be "quirky" -- it's to be safe. Racoons in trench coats aren't as "scawwy" as a burglar is. If this goofy character walks up on your lot, it's not gonna be as "concerning" and can be laughed off.

I'm sorry y'all but this game is for babies and I'm tired of it always playing "safe". I'm tired of it always holding the player's hand. I'm tired of it being essentially an overpriced $1000+ dress up game.

I'm just HOPING this isn't the burglar and the raccoons dressed up similar to the burglar is just more stupid hints at the burglar EVENTUALLY dropping.

russian localization of the sims 2 has so many dirty and politically incorrect humor, it baffles me. these references are very subtle (...and some are not lol), and when you get them you just sit there thinking "wait what? wh-??? HOW??? WHAAAT???"

i won't go into the juiciest stuff, i will show you the lightest of them all:

the demons of procrastionation and distraction from the term paper notification were демоны-близнецы Пьянка и Гулянка, which can be poorly translated as "the twin demons, Drinking and Partying" LOL (and these two rhymes too)

russian localization has this kind of an uhhhh edgy vibe that i don't think the original game has. and it's kinda entertaining ngl

They connect almost seamlessly to all my previous male graying hairs! Sadly they don't connect so well with DeeDee's graying shortcombed hair, I'll probably do my own recolor so they actually look good together.

Jenny is finally going on that date ^^^

Some random doodles of Jenny and Lyla! Happy Women’s Month!! I love women ❤️

They were best friends since elementary school, roommates in college, each others maid of honor. They raised their kids together. The only thing that could separate them was death itself. ( Rip Lyla )

Some random head cannons for these girls:

1) Jenny, Lyla and Buzz were all friends in elementary school. At that time Buzz still had a passion for barbershop quartets.

2) Lyla danced ballet, and did writing as a hobby, inspired by her father.

3) They babysat Jenny’s brothers all the time as teenagers. They let Pascal join their group once he was in high school.

4) Jenny snuck her little brothers into Alien(1979). Traumatizing them for life. She was grounded.

5) Lyla and Buzz started dating in high school, it was all good until Buzz changed.

5.5) After Buzz decided to beat up all the nerds ( who were middle schoolers ) and Lazlo! Jenny gave Buzz a knuckle sandwich - ending their friendship.

6) They had a quick wedding during university because Tank was making a debut.

7) Lyla named Tank - Theodore - and called him Teddy …until he was older.

8) Lyla worked as a hospital receptionist until she had three boys to take care of.

9) Lyla loves all her boys, she taught Tank some dance moves whenever he wanted. She introduced Ripp to music and tutored Buck so he was smart.

10) Her ghost is stuck in Olive’s garden because no one knows she’s dead :’(

Jenny knows that’s something is wrong, a bit peeved her disappearance was overshadowed by a mystery lady.
