Jr.canest | Reel from Jorge R. Canedo E. on Vimeo.
Hola, my name is Jorge Rolando Canedo Estrada (Jr.canest) and this is my reel. I made my first reel back in 2009, and that’s a long time ago. This reel is a journey through some of my favourite projects since, dancing to the rhythm of DeVotchKa’s “The Clockwise Witness”. Enjoy!

Digital Design Days — Trailer from Ditroit on Vimeo.
Here’s our Digital Design Days 2019 trailer, which we had the honor to premiere during the festival. As one of the leading events of this kind, DDD attracts a very wide range of communication professionals coming from all over the world, all blended together into a single vibrant audience. We decided to represent this network of personalities through a large variety of 3D shapes, interacting with one another and getting influenced by a little lively character: the intruder (a.k.a. “communication” in person). Its behavior represents the contamination of ideas through creativity, so that the global dynamics between the several elements are strongly affected, shot after shot. ditroit.it

Sberbank | Navigator from okean on Vimeo.
Presentation video for Sberbank corporate products. The idea was inspired by slogan ‘New direction to the future’. In everyday life phrase ‘new direction’ is mostly associated with navigation systems. So this video became a journey through city, where smart navigator helps user reach various destination using innovations from Sberbank products and services.

The Cave from gasta on Vimeo.
gasta.org/portfolio/the-cave/
Created to produce an infinite corridor, The Cave is a black and white back projection mapping installation that explores the ways in which the perspective can be seen and visualised. With the simplicity of just few edges, The Cave drags the audience on an impressive journey, from a peaceful state through a dubstep chaos.
The Cave has been created by Nicola Gastaldi, London.
Music and sound design: Nicola Gastaldi
The Cave has been exhibited on: - 1st-6th November 2017, Lost in Play, Chao, Beijing, China. - 24th April 2014 at Village Underground in Shoreditch (London) for the Creative Review Annual launch party. - 13th-15th November 2014 at Mira Festival, Barcelona - 9th-15th February 2015 at E-Luminate Festival, Cambridge - 2015 B-Seite Festival, March 2016, in Mannheim, Germany

When it comes down to projection mapping, the creative process is strictly connected to more tangible limits, like the space and the ambience light of the "stage". First of all, the room must be as dark as possible and there must be enough space for the projector to "throw" its light onto the surface. At the CR Annual launch party I had a narrow room of approximately 4sq meteres, that could allow 6 people maximum at each time. The main problem that I had to face were the possible shadows that the viewers could have cast with a usual projection. That could have completely killed the installation. To solve this problem, I tried to create a back-projection mapping (my very first time and, as far as I know, the first ever). I modelled the "stage" in 3D and played with it in Cinema4D: a truncated rectangualar pyramid could morph into an infinite corridor. Escher, there's no need to say it, has been the main reference for my animations: playing with different camera focals, inverting the perspective of the pyramid and creating holes, I wanted to cheat the reality. The black and white worked perfectly to enhance the contrast of the projection itself. To allow the back-projection, I've built the pyramid with a laser cut clear cast acrylic and covered with frost film to allow the light of the projector to bounce on it. I suspended the pyramid with fishing wires to the ceiling, trying to give the illusion that the structure was floating.

Sonos Playground Deconstructed - Museum of the Moving Image from Red Paper Heart on Vimeo.
Sonos Playground Deconstructed is a site-specific installation in the Nam June Paik / HBO Production Lab at the Museum of the Moving Image. It is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Spectacle: The Music Video, April 3–June 16, 2013 Visitors are able to select any song from an iPad and watch a visualization of the music projected onto the surrounding walls. Through motion-capture technology, visitors can interact with and manipulate the animation through movement.
The installation aims to bring minimalist art to life as an immersive music video environment. Inspired by the wall drawings of Sol LeWitt and the room-flooding sound of the Sonos Playbar, Sonos Playground was originally installed in a 250 sq. ft shed at the Sonos Studio at the 2013 SXSW festival. At Museum of the Moving Image, Sonos Playground Deconstructed has re-imagined the experience using five detached walls suspended above a reflective floor. Each of the walls has been painted with 27 1-inch wide white lines and 26 2-inch wide black lines. By mapping the white lines set between black lines we were able to create a more immersive and surreal environment.
