Shoutout to Superman (2025) for making it incredibly fucking clear that Superman is for good people. He’s hope. He’s love. He’s supportive. He’s an immigrant. He supports Palestine. He loves animals. He protects children.
The movie is a light. If you’ve been feeling really depressed about the world lately I’d highly suggest watching Superman.

Ok but like Superman having good rep for punk people that, while brief, shows the ideals of punk culture being rooted in standing up for people being persecuted and fighting against the authorities that attack them was not something I was expecting but I’m genuinely so happy about it. Punk people and ideals have been treated like a joke by a lot of mainstream media, but to have a highly successful movie accurately capture it means so much to me. Especially coming from Lois Lane.

(Superman Spoilers)
Lois Lane ragebaits Superman during an interview, pours half a container of sugar into about 4 ounces of coffee and dictates an article taking down lex luthor while driving a hovercraft. They nailed her. We are so back.

Without spoilers but I got emotional in this scene. Trust Jonathan Bailey to give one of the best performances of the year on a dino's movie (the movie was great too, btw).

recently watched Jurassic World Rebirth and I think it’s so funny how the students Alan Grant teaches are always super out there and hands on compared to him. The scene when Loomis runs up to touch the Titanosaurus reminded me so much of the scene in jp3 when Alan’s talking with Eric about how theres “two types of boys those that want to be astronomers and those that want to be astronauts” and the whole “that’s the difference between imagining and seeing, to be able to touch them” scene because Loomis’ first reaction was to touch them just like what Billy in jp3 wanted to do. Alan Grant will only ever teach astronauts and that is,,, so so funny to me,,,, made me tear up a lil in the theatre ,,,

I’d love to see Alan Grant’s reaction to what his former student Henry Loomis is doing, he’s busy writing a research paper and Malcolm is rambling in the bg about how the hubris for American governments and others to try and keep dinosaurs even as they die to our environment thinking we could keep them alive when we don’t know anything about them. And Ellie comes in and she’s like hey, hey Alan, remember Loomis? (Because Ellie got to meet him one of the times she travelled up to where he was in their divorce era, and she remembered bc Loomis and Charlie, who was 15 at the time while Loomis was 25, got along swell)
And Alan’s like no.. what now.. bc after Billy he was pretty careful with who he decided to teach (because inevitably he knew he would get attached) and Loomis seemed so sensible.. no..
And Ellie gives him the letter from Loomis attached w a news article about an up and coming accessible drug to help with cardiac diseases.
Malcolm probably laughs bc yea that sounds like one of Alan Grant’s kids.

Dr. Henry Loomis is a grown-ass man, yet, he still acted like a complete child when he saw the dinosaurs in the forest. The way he was so overjoyed to the point of having to take off his slutty little glasses because he began to cry was so cute. He is such a precious and nerdy bean that needs to be protected at all costs.

“Science is for all of us, not just for some of us.”

The real reason to see Jurassic World: Rebirth is that at some point Jonathan Bailey's character, Dr. Henry Loomis, says that his ideal way to die is to be buried in a thin layer of silt because "that's the best way to become a fossil".
He also says that killing a dinosaur with a neurotoxin would be a sin.
He's kind of the best character (tied with Mahershala Ali's character Duncan Kincaid) and I can't wait to see tumblr's reaction to him.
