A new option for what to do with Minthara has arisen!
The winning result was reload, save Minthara, and romance her after. So I went back and saved Minthara instead of brain-wiping her. Cool. I’m getting constant disapproval with her, but we’ll see how it goes.
But now, Sceleritas Fel has just shown and threatened that Bae’zel is going to get killed if my boy Wanya goes to sleep (name chosen from one of the Bizzies from Lin-Manuel Miranda’s version of Warriors, where they are a gang of seductive, murderous pretty boys - seemed fitting for a Durge!), when! An option just popped up!
Lie to him and say the real object of my affections is not Lae’zel (the game decided for me? To be fair, I was leaning towards her, but it kept not giving me the option to break things off with Shadowheart after what should have been a one-night stand at the camp party, but constantly giving me the choice to dump Lae’zel) but Minthara! Meaning Minthara is the one who gets got!
So…

Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

When Apollo 11 successfully landed and the images were released, ‘The Sun’ newspaper in Vancouver changed it’s name to ‘The Moon’ to report it.

“She said her rage peaked when Mr Loader told her to 'stay in the kitchen making scones' where she belonged, instead of going out drinking with boys.
At that point, Walpole went to her garage and returned with a five-litre container of petrol.
She poured it over Mr Loader and waved her lighter around before he teased her, saying 'go on, do it', then Walpole set him alight.”

Welp, my Durge just decided to mind-wipe Minthara, which I have never done before. It made perfect sense for his character - he kept her alive just because he wanted to see her brought down a peg or two - but I had originally figured just seeing her humiliated would be enough (like, he did the option to push her to take the blame for being the one who messed up at the Grove.) Like, there was some definitely glee on his end seeing it happen, and at her sad puppy-dog eyes.
But I’m kinda like, Minthara would fit my current dickish Durge run, so I’m in two minds about letting it stand or going back to an earlier saved (I saved right before just because I wanted to see what happened if you erased Minthara, and now I kinda want to run with it lol).
I also have never actually finished a run through with Minthara. I’ve only gotten her three times: two of my games with her where it made sense to have her - one where my pacifist monk didn’t kill her and another where I’m a complete murder hobo Durge, and so Gale, Halsin, Lae’zel, Wyll, and Karlach are all dead and everyone in the grove got slaughtered - will remain forever unfinished because of incompatibilities with mods since patch 7, so those saves absolutely will not load, and the other where I was playing a half-drow cleric dedicated to Eilistraee, saved her hoping to convert her but is utterly too boring of a goody-two-shoes, holier-than-thou character for me to continue and I gave up in Act 3. So I’m torn between leaving it as is or making it so he decides to keep her alive to rub her being so wrong in her face (also a very in-character thing for him to do).

As much as I criticize a lot of third party voters for the way they act, especially with that "both sides same" gaslighting, I do think some people need to be a little more real about the idea of voting for Dems out of harm reduction. People who have had their vote tripled nerfed by the large margins between Democrats and Republicans, large populations, and the electoral college in a safe blue states will talk about pragmatism and harm reduction as if that's their burden to bare. I would argue that voting dem is a must in swing or low margin states because it would actually be the harm reduction people in safe states think they are doing. If you live in a state with a large margin, then not having that burden is a privilege you should utilize against the 2 party system. At the very least it'll keep the ball rolling.
Also, advice to third party voters, this is the "the way they act" thing I was talking about, please act like you want actually want people to take what you have to say seriously. How many times have going "both sides bad cop Kamala Palestine Obama did it too both sides same capitalism complicity blue maga" made someone regret voting for Harris or Biden and stop them from voting on the next dem? Please, hop off the high horse long enough to actually get others to help you get the results you claim to want.

Reporter: Why do you think so many countries’ governments around the world are just ignoring what’s happening in Gaza?
Greta Thunberg: Because of racism, that’s the simple answer, I would say. Racism, and basically desperately trying to defend a deadly, destructive system that systematically maximizes short term economic profit and geopolitical power over the well being of humans and the planet. Right now, it is morally difficult to defend that – it is impossible— but they’re desperately trying which is …. absurd is not the word, but there are no words to describe it.
- Greta Thunberg in Paris, after returning from Israel’s illegal abduction of her aboard the Madleen (10 Jun 25)
