Life is a Journey, Not a Destination

Call me Vexation. This is where I will post stuff about my characters Journey and Klepto as they, and their world, slowly grow and develop in my mind until I can eventually write an entire book about them. Feel free to ask questions and draw them if you feel inclined to so. I would be extremely honored.

Prologue
This place had ceased to be his home after everybody had left. One by one they went, until he was the only one. People like him were anomalies in the multiverse, the chances of someone like him even having an inkling of the power he held being little to none. Yet, despite the odds, everyone in this place, this universe had possessed such powers. And one after the other, that power allowed them to leave. He didn't know where they went, only that they never came back. They were never heard from again. They say home is where the heart is. But does that still ring true when you have no heart left? When you feel empty and hollow inside? How was he to have a home when everything, everyone he had ever loved was gone? When he was dead inside? This is how Klepto found him. Klepto was like him. Powerful. Gifted. A Traveller of the multiverse. And just what he needed. When he called, Klepto came. He was never one for words, but Kelpto talked enough for the both of them, could keep the conversation going with little prompting. He talked about anything and everything, his universe, what he had for breakfast, who said what about this person. Trivial things. Things that could take his mind off how empty his universe was. After a time, Klepto was eventually able to goad him into leaving his universe. He had nothing left here, Klepto would reason. It wasn't his home anymore. But he was scared. Everyone who had ever left never came back. He didn't know what happened to them. Why didn't they come back? But at the same time Klepto had come from another universe, and he seemed fine. So he had taken Klepto's hand, and stepped through the portal. And there, standing on the other side, fresh air blowing through the fields and people milling about in a town not too far away, Klepto got to see him smile for the first time in a long time.

How It Began
The multiverse was a big place with few that could travel through it. Those called Travellers wandered through universes, seeming to cause mischief and mayhem where ever they went. At least that was the case when it came to Klepto, a Traveller from a universe of thieves. He was determined to cause trouble, trying to forget a painful past that was bound to come back to haunt him. Pax Moore was the lone remainder of a universe long abandoned, a universe that had once been overflowing with Travellers. Too miserable to stay but too scared to leave, he squandered his days in the forsaken shadow of his home. When Klepto stumbled across the desolate fragment of a once great universe, finding the lone Traveller, he could not explain his compulsion to befriend the quiet man. Nor could the newly dubbed Journey, figure out why this small kleptomaniac had any interest in him. But a slowly formed friendship is just what both men needed to move on and leave their pasts behind. Now both Travellers wander the multiverse, together, crossing paths with friends they've made and enjoying each others company, a luxury neither had before. But the discovery of several strange clues that might just solve the mystery of where everyone from the Journeyverse disappeared to could disrupt the balance they've created and throw the two friends into chaos. Who is the mysterious Finite and what does the so called Destroyer of Universes have planned for the two?
