It's very funny how everyone is using the destiel confession meme to talk about the current writers strike because that scene owes its entire existence to the previous writers strike. Iconic behavior, no notes.
Huānlè Jìjié Dà is an AU of mine that surrounds Sun WuKong as a Dionysian God of Festivals and Merriment, achieved by his joyous and sunny displays back when he was still parading in the Mortal Realm.
He is the Patron Saint of performers and creative arts, but is also seen as a bringer of good harvests and luck <3
Human Wukong! I drew this during an art block! He absolutely hates his human disguise, but when he has no choice, he will use it (but rarely xD ) And in the JTTW book, he always has his monkey tail, so that stays!
HIII i really love your tripitaka design!! I was wondering if the outfit was based on anything? Like a particular adaptation of jttw or a real garment or something?
Yeah! Its based on my favorite Tripitaka ever - Masako Natsume in Saiyuki (1979), or Monkey Magic as I always knew it. Truthfully, all my personal designs for the pilgrims are based on this show, I love it so much.
She's by far and away my favorite iteration of Trip... Maybe there's a bit of nostalgia there since Monkey Magic was one of my first big introductions to Journey to the West, but I love how she portrays the character.
Kind, sweet, empathetic, trying desperately to hold this group together. But also super stubborn - maybe the only person to match Monkey in stubbornness!
