Key West and the Florida Keys were first discovered by Juan Ponce de León while searching for the Fountain of Youth. When the landed in Key West they found the island covered in human bones and left the island after naming it, Cayo Hueso, or Bone Island. These bones were from the Calusa Indians as they used the island as a burial ground. Cayo Hueso was later wrongfully translated to its name today, Key West. Pictured above is a sail boat, or schooner. Key West wouldn’t have the history it has today without the wrecking industry. Wreckers would race out to save the ships that wrecked upon the reef. To this day you can book a trip on several different schooners to watch the sunset on the horizon of the ocean

Niagara Falls is my favorite place in the world. You can feel the energy in your chest, hear the roar of the falls from the parking lot. The adventurous can travel to the bottom of the falls with the Cave of the Winds or on the Maid of the Mist. Just know you will get wet! Niagara Falls is actually made of 3 waterfalls. The picture above is the American Falls, in the Middle is the Bridal Vail Falls, and then the Horse Shoe or the Canadian Falls. The state park also has paths and tours you can take. You can spend a whole day here so be sure to have some time available!

Sloppy Joes is the most iconic bar in Key West! The bar moved to its iconic location on the corner of Duval and Greene St. in 1937 and was the favorite drinking place of author Ernest Hemingway. The staff is friendly and the entertainment cycles out weekly featuring bands and acts from all over the US. A wide variety of beers and cocktails make the bar fun for all ages!
