Lee Joon has officially resumed his activities in the industry following the end of his military service!

After being discharged from the military on December 19, Lee Joon took over the airwaves the next day as the new DJ of the radio show “Young Street.” He takes the baton from his girlfriend, actress Jung So Min, who hosted the show for the past year and ended her run on December 15.

Lee Joon said at the beginning of the show, “I’m sitting in front of the mic. I hope that I will be a sincere person in front of the mic.” He admitted that he didn’t feel familiar yet with conveying his thoughts and sharing his feelings on air, but he promised that he’ll be able to get closer with everyone every day.

He also shyly addressed the camera and said, “I also listened to ‘Young Street’ a lot. I’m nervous to be doing this but to be honest, since I came to the studio a lot when I was a singer, it doesn’t feel strange to me. I think this will be fun.”

A listener commented that his hands seemed to be shaking as he held the paper, and he replied, “I tend to get nervous easily. It’s been 10 years since I debuted but I think I haven’t totally adjusted to this world. When I’m acting, I get nervous in emotional scenes too. Although it doesn’t show on screen, I get a cold sweat on my back.” He said that he wasn’t simply nervous because it was the first day, clarifying that he’d be nervous if it was recorded and not live as well.

Lee Joon was asked how the people around him reacted to the news that he was going to be a radio DJ. “There aren’t many people around me,” he replied. “My reaction was ‘I can do a good job.’ The thing that I was most confident about was being a DJ. Although I might be nervous since it’s the first broadcast, when I was a special DJ I felt warm and like I was being healed.”

Many overseas fans wrote in to congratulate Lee Joon on his first day as a DJ. When a fan from Mexico left a comment, Lee Joon replied, “When I went to Mexico, I wasn’t able to do my fan meeting properly because of a large earthquake. It was very dangerous. I hope we see each other again in the future.”

He also said, “I’ve returned after two years and two or three months, and it’s touching that people have continued to like me. I feel even more grateful than I did in the past.”

Lee Joon has chosen his first activity after his military discharge!

Lee Joon will join the SBS Power FM DJ lineup as the new DJ of “Young Street” starting from December 20. Jung So Min, who has been dating Lee Joon since October 2017, was the DJ of “Young Street” from December 3, 2018 to December 15, 2019. Special DJs will fill in the empty DJ spot until Lee Joon takes the position.

The production crew of “Young Street” commented, “Lee Joon will be a good DJ who is both serious and pure, and we expect that he will be able to communicate with various listeners and share sympathy and consolation with each other.”

Lee Joon reportedly chose a radio show as his first activity because the radio production team gave him a sincere proposal about how the warmth of media in radio form will give positive energy to both Lee Joon and listeners.

MBLAQ’s Mir candidly revealed the special treatment celebrities are given.

Recently, on his YouTube channel MIRBANG, Mir posted a video about the kinds of special treatment celebrities tend to receive.

Mir started, “I do wonder if special treatment is necessary, but I am grateful about some things, so I will talk about them first. Of course, there are some things that make me happy, like when I go to restaurants and [the owners] give me complimentary food because they recognize me or they don’t want me to pay for my meal. However, I’m sure no one thinks of it as a given and just goes, ‘Okay. I’ll be on my way then.’ Of course I pay, but I’m just thankful for their kind words.” Mir also shared that celebrities get discounts when they buy something and expressed his gratefulness for it.

Then Mir opened up about the wrong kind of special treatment. He said, “For example, [it’s wrong] if I go to a cafe while filming something and cut in front of the line just because I have to go quickly. Or if I’m late and the airline is understanding about it. Honestly, I don’t think we should receive special treatment about these kind of things. There are some celebrities who think they should naturally be treated that way then. If that happens, it’s not good for any of us.”

Mir also spoke up about the “special treatment” that feels really frustrating to experience. He shared, “One time, I went to a bar with a friend. I don’t drink though. Some older men recognized me and told me to come over. They were already talking informally to me. I really wish people won’t do that even though they’re older than me, but I try to understand it and not dwell on it too much. I don’t want to quarrel about such things.”

He continued to tell his story of how the men made him pour them a drink and then they poured him a drink in return. He told them he wasn’t able to drink, and they got angry at him. He added that there are many obstinate people like that.

Mir revealed there are also groups of people where a few of them will be like, “Oh, it’s Mir,” and that one person will loudly ask, “Who is he? Is he a celebrity?” He shared his frustration at how there will always be that one person who purposely speaks loudly about him in a rude manner. He admitted, “Even though I don’t want to think about it, I honestly don’t feel great. Their sarcastic tone makes me unhappy.”

Lastly, Mir said, “There are many articles nowadays. Unlike before, there are many things you can encounter. There are many different types of media. It’s a world where you can see everything on your cell phone. It’s a world where you can leave a comment with it, too. Please write nice comments that will make everyone happy. [It would be nice] if you could encourage them.”

Lee Joon Moves From Active Duty To Public Service Due To Panic Disorder

Lee Joon will finish the remainder of his mandatory service as a public service worker.

On March 30, his agency Prain TPC released an official statement to announce that the actor will be transferred to reservist duty on March 23.

They wrote, “Under the instructions of the Military Manpower Administration, Lee Joon will complete his mandatory military service as a public service worker.

“Lee Joon, who enlisted as an active-duty soldier back in October, consistently received treatment for his panic disorder while carrying out his military duties. However, because his condition was not improving, he went through legal screening procedures in the military and was deemed unfit for active duty.

“Lee Joon is currently waiting for a draft notice from the Military Manpower Administration. We apologize that he’s not able to show his healthy side. He will do his best with his remaining military service.”

It was previously revealed that the actor had panic disorder symptoms during his acting career, but he voluntarily enlisted due to his strong personal will to overcome it.

Jota To Make Return To Entertainment Industry With “Law Of The Jungle” In Mexico

Jota is finally making his return with a variety program!

On February 26, a source from SBS confirmed that he will be appearing on “Law of the Jungle.”

For the past several months, Jota has not been active due to MADTOWN’s dispute with their agency GNI Entertainment. He decided to appear on “Law of the Jungle” due to his previous experience working with PD Kim Jin Ho for the show’s trip to Tonga in 2016.

Jota will be traveling to Mexico with the first team, which includes BTOB’s Eunkwang and Hyunsik, Han Eun Jung, Oh Man Seok, Choi Jung Won, and Seol In Ah. The second team includes Kim Jun Hyun, chef Choi Hyun Seok, Nam Bo Ra, WINNER’s Lee Seung Hoon, and Red Velvet’s Seulgi.

“Law of the Jungle” in Mexico will begin filming in March and air in April.
