My 2023 update!
I have contemplated whether or not I'd post this or not but I believe my few followers should know what I want to do, even when this isn't final. Without further ado, my 2023 plan!
So first thing first, I'll finish business with the Binding of Isaac's mod Cursed and Brokenhearted. After this, I'll move on to two big things I want to do. But first:
My Baby Fetus Beating a Mom Phase
So for those who originally followed me for The Binding of Isaac mod content, yes, I am still making this. However, I'll be quiet about it and my beta team might be dead or not (still deciding on this)
However, be wary that I might just do what I promised; do my tainted Rebekah. After this, I might as well go away because I feel too old to be part of this game now lol I still might come back if I feel like it, but that's unlikely because I want to do so much other things....
So have a concept I had in mind that might never happen: tainted curse bosses!
Cursed bosses was supposed to be an unlockable boss roster which spawns after you defeat the normal boss. For them to spawn, the existing floor needs a curse and the respective curse boss will spawn and after defeating the main boss (maybe perhaps no-hit or no red heart hit), you get a trapdoor leading to a cursed boss room!
Bosses in there are based on the curse you have in the floor. This boss in hand is the Curse of the Blind boss! Look at him go!
Scroto did a good job animating this, but it's a pity they won't make it in the mod. I tried hiding this for a year already but it would be a waste if I just hid it from everyone, so here it is.
Death of An Author
That's right! That's the official name of my game! Back then, I said the name is still unofficial but after much thinking, I believe this is the right name!
Also the game used to be planned to be 20 minutes of gameplay or less because of it being a bit more fast-paced but now I'm not sure...
It might be an hour long now because I want to expand the story aspect of the game as well as the puzzle and horror potential of the game!
This does mean the game might come out way later, but I promise you, it will be worth it! It will be my side main project!
Right now, sadly, I don't have much to show for the game (I do have tweets about it in my twitter account, go follow that for more updates!) and all I have to show is some concept arts.
The following concept art are old and scrapped ideas, but I'd love to show them because they are close to what I envisioned the game today!
YouTube Channel
What? You read that right! As another side project, I'm gonna do a passion YouTube channel.
Now, the cool news! My content is gonna be me either reviewing or analyzing game music or small indie games for fun, and maybe if I get a bit bigger, do some funny chill streams.
The bad news that will turn heads away: My content is gonna be a VTuber me either reviewing or analyzing game music like Genshin Impact music or small indie games for fun.
Yeah, yeah. That's why I said in my discord server I'm gonna give y'all whiplash. Throw all your pedo Gensh*t jokes, that's right, I'm going out from crybaby community to toxic community. So what? Not your issue man, this is what I wanna do lol. So remember when I told you to follow me? Feel free to unfollow me now LOL
However, to save your braincells:
I'm making another Twitter account!
What does this mean? That means my current Twitter account is my personal account where I post my personal updates, post art and retweet funnies and stuff.
My new account, like my more "professional" account, is gonna be main updates about Death of An Author and other major projects. Right now, I am pondering if I should do two YouTube accounts as well; one for game music analysis videos and streams, and the other for main project stuff... maybe I should! Who knows!
Conclusion
So that's all I have to say! All this isn't final because I will still focus on my college things and I am still looking for a job to earn some money. I wanna stop being a freeloader and help the fam with some bread, if you know what I mean lol
I hope people read this anyway because this is at least something I'm hoping to do this year and onward for fun. And oh yeah, this is my Tumblr account! Feel free to follow for blogs as this is the space I will have for big updates and stuff. Bye y'all!

Stop Writing Devlogs Out Of Obligation
I've said it once but I'll say it again: I think game devs need to stop writing devlogs for every part of their game, especially out of obligation or as a replacement for self promotion (especially on Tumblr).
In hashtags like #gamedev I frequently see devlogs that are multiple paragraph variations of guilt-laden "I haven't done anything this week but I'm writing this because I feel I have to" posts or "here is a detailed explanation of a system that other people have built a billion times before, but I'm doing it because this is what people do". If it's not helpful to you or others and you're not gaining anything from writing them then why are you writing it. It also just feels like a short route to burnout by holding yourself accountable for writing several hundred words on subjects of seemingly no benefit to yourself.
Unless you find it helpful to your process, or the subject is something that you haven't seen covered elsewhere and your audience is really interested in it, or it gives you fulfillment, I strongly feel that the time spent making devlogs is probably better spent making the game itself. Even generating images/gifs/videos to show off those elements more succinctly as proper promotional content would be time better spent.
I'm not trying to say that everything you do has to be in service of making your game, or that you shouldn't bother with devlogs at all, but I do feel there's a weird misgiving (fear maybe?) that as a dev you need to be regularly making these things or people will lose interest in your work. Devlogs don't matter as much as you think they do, and don't let an imagined obligation to their importance dictate a work process that doesn't work for you.
(Also if you are going to write a devlog on something you implemented that seems interesting I'd strongly recommend putting them up on GameDeveloper.com as well, as they have a user-submitted Blog section with a regular userbase of game devs!)
