Text
i love you, i'm sorry.
summary: jude and y/n have an argument. which leads to jude not coming home, and y/n full of overthinking.
warnings: sort of angst, but then fluff, y/n and jude both being stupid, cursing, arguing, cute ending
it was a cold rainy night in madrid. jude had gone out for a drink with his teammates after a heated argument with y/n the night before. this angered her, and made her feel as if she did not matter to him at all. she didn't text. she didn't call. she felt she had the right not to.
she had put effort in. cooking his favorite dish for dinner, and expecting to apologize and take accountability for everything that happened the night before. but he didn't.
he was out, enjoying time with his teammates. y/n knew she should've called or texted beforehand to let him know about the dinner, but she would've never thought we would completely ignore her and not even come home.
it was 4 am when he had stumbled through the door. completely unaware of how he had made y/n feel. y/n was extremely petty. so petty that she had locked the door so jude would practically be forced to sleep on the couch. but what y/n didnt know was how terrible he felt. he was unaware of what y/n had done in effort of trying to apologize for the argument just the night prior.
jude was confused, he didn't think y/n would lock the door, because even after arguments they don't lock each other out of their shared room. the alcohol was slowly subsiding from his system. he was sobering up.
he wasted no more time and hit the couch, feeling tired, and sorry.
the next morning slowly comes. y/n wakes up and goes to the bathroom. while doing so she sees an empty couch. she immediately assumed that jude had not even bothered coming home. but she could not be more wrong.
the whole night jude was tossing and turning, coming to the realization that he messed up. he knew that instead of getting plastered at a club, he should've been at home. with y/n in his arms.
just as y/n stepped out of the bathroom she saw that the couch was still empty. great.
but what y/n didn't know was that the guilt was consuming jude. he couldn't take it anymore. he had got up and left. he was going to a store. he needed to make it up to you. he bought a bouquet. a beautiful bouquet, a mixture of your favorite colors and favorite flowers. along with that, he made a pit stop to pick up some of y/n's favorite breakfast.
y/n was at home sitting down on the bed. she couldn't help but let the tears out. she sobbed wondering if the argument was his last straw. wondering if he had left her for good. if y/n was not in this vulnerable state she would call herself silly for even thinking that a stupid argument would cause jude to leave her. but she wasn't. and the thought was not leaving her mind.
as she was in the middle of crying, she heard the doorknob twist and turn for the front door. she quickly wiped her tears. she stood in bed. waiting to see if jude would even bother to walk in. she thought he wouldn't dare. but to her surpise he did. with a beautiful bouquet and breakfast in hand.
the sight of this made her sob. "I thought you left me jude. i thought you were gone. i needed you jude. i made you dinner, and i expected you to come home. but you never did." she said, hands covering her face. jude couldn't help but drop everything. he didn't care about what would happen to the flowers or food, he cared about y/n.
"i wouldn't ever. i'm sorry. i should've came home, it was stupid of me. i never meant to make you feel this way, and i never want to ever again." he said while holding her tightly, never wanting to let go. he felt that if he did she would slip away, and be gone. but she craved his touch. she couldn't stay mad at him.
"i'm sorry, i should've told you. i shouldn't have overreacted like that i know you should be able to do whatever you want. i never want to argue like this with you ever again." she said, wiping her tears and looking up at jude.
his face softened "I dont either. but i should've told you. i shouldn't have left you here by yourself overthinking. that was wrong of me. i'm sorry and i love you." he said kissing your cheek and wiping the tears from your eyes. "i love you more jude." she said while leaning into jude's touch, knowing she wouldn't want to have it any other way.
