In the fall of 1995 at the House of Mizrahi Hell Raiser Ball in NYC – a new entity had entered the realm of FQ face. She wasn’t new to ballroom; however, that night she’d won femme queen “new face” and persisted on to become one of thee staples for femme queen carta (Meechie Lanvin, 2016). She had a distinctive performance & way of sellage, ushering into the scene with a creative flare … and not to mention, skin like butter. She is dark and lovely personified – ladies and gentlemen I reintroduce to you the Iconic Cheyenne Aphrodite Allure.

Prior to this night at the Latex Ball, Cheyenne had dared walked against her Mother – the Unforgettable Danielle Princess Revlon – at the infamous Clubhouse (1997) and almost beat her for carta (Derek Torres-Pruitt, 2021). Subsequently, she then won against Danielle at the Latex ball, alongside competing with other hard hitters of fem queen carta. Shot taken at the Latex Ball, NYC (circa 1997).

The Can I Live Ball was the house of Slés first official ball, carving a milestone for the tradition of ballrooms birthing in Australia. In 2018 three of our pioneering sisters had to defend themselves against an attack in western Sydney. In honour of their experience and in honour of the lives they continue to live, The House Of Slé created the Can I Live ball. An ode to survival and an act of refusal. The ball was held at the Red Rattler theatre in Marrickville.
Godmotha Kilia 007, remains as one of the pillars to the foundation of Juicy Slé (2015). She has stapled herself as one of the adorned jewels of Ballroom Australia, endeared as our scene's "Godmother." Kilia has moulded herself to be an admirable performer; all-around femme queen; walking the categories Face, Sex Siren, Runway, Realness, Commentator and Performance.

Xuelas time in ballroom has woven her as an impossible beauty and mind into Oceania’s ballroom herstory. Her words echo across oceans and continue to define the house of Juicy Slé’s origins. Winning eight+ grand prizes in the past five years, she is now Xuela 007, though she will always be one of the original fem queens honoured in our history. This thread is dedicated to her, an archive of her essence.
