Final CAS reflection

During my Cas experience the thing that I enjoyed the most was definitely my service. I met the best people there, enjoyed every minute of helping others in the Charity. I liked it so much that I am planning on continuing my service even after finishing high school. My greatest challenge was the activity strand simply because I am not really fond of sports. However, thanks to cas I started enjoying yoga and it might be one of my favorite sports. Exercising yoga regularly helped me overcome my laziness retiring regular exercises. Through cas I achieved regularity in actions and ability to work in groups. The easiest learning outcome to achieve was identifying my strengths which are obviously related to the creativity strand because they are connected to my passions. However, I was also able to plan a cas experience thanks to the CAS project which had to be prepared to months in advance.

Activity

This time I continued with my yoga exercises and found an amazing set of exercises which help me to be less stressed during Mock exams. CAS really helped me to love yoga and it became one of my favorite activities.

Service

This time I went to the Ronald McDonald charity and had a cleaning service. We mostly cleaned kitchens, specifically kettles. Unfortunately I did not take any photos during this visit. Although this is my last post for CAS about my service I am still planing to continue this amazing adventure because it turns out I love helping people and I love the atmosphere in Ronald McDonald Charity.

Creativity -Driving Mum

I recently watched a dark comedy in Icelandic style called „Driving Mum”. I went to the cinema with my friend not really expecting anything spectacular byt we ended up watching one of the best movies of our lives and something that will definitely stick in our minds. The movie is a typical example of road movie. We see two characters: mother and son driving through the whole Iceland to reach the small town on the other end. It seems like there is nothing unusual about this journey. However, as we get to know at the beginning of the movie the mother is in fact dead. The main character -Jon is not only driving his mum but also contemplating his past, especially his lost love. Our favorite moment of the movie is when the main character is talking with a traveler from France. They do not understand each other but somehow the conversation makes perfect sense and it is beautifully captured in the movie. After watching it we left the cinema speechless. The ending of a movie is completely unexpected. There were same sciences which remain confusing, especially the theme of an acting troupe appearing through the movie but in general we are big fans of this film. However, one has to watch it on their own to see whether it is something they appreciate.

Creativity

Again as my creativity I did my makeup, more specifically a look that I have never done before. I decided to use two contrasting colors: purple and red. I used red lipstick on my lips and liquid eyeshadow in bright purple to create a wing. In my inner corner I added shimmering purple as well. I absolutely loved this experiment and might start using colors more often.
