i'd just like to say , trans people are not a monolith. no one gets to tell us that we're wrong if we think something you bring to the table in your rp of trans characters is harmful , upsetting or offensive to us in a community space , especially if anti-trans groups are already saying these things to harm us and deny us rights to care. this goes doubly so for other trans folks who use ' well i'm trans and i'm fine with it ' as a reason to not give others reasonable content warnings or stop perpetuating harmful stereotypes when asked.

don't disregard harm if it doesn't affect you personally , and especially so if you're going to do that to throw other trans people under the bus for protecting their rp spaces from harmful stereotypes that you as a fellow trans person are helping to perpetuate. please have more respect for your fellow writers than to tell us that your vision for your character is more important than us being heard as real people , when entering rp spaces that i run or any for that matter.

i have at this point decided i don't want to interact or follow those who write hp/jkr content at all following some further thought on this. even if you can separate the work from the author , i and millions of other trans people she is currently intent on erasing from society cannot.

her bigotry is so heavily baked into her works and always has been , and i do not want to have to walk on eggshells around people who may just one day turn around and give financial support to her fund for eradicating trans rights because of a new show or game or fucking lego set that is deemed more important than my right to live. i don't have the energy for it.

if you're someone who writes harry potter characters or verses then this is the point where we are going to part ways , even if we were writing something. please hard block me if this applies to you. for everyone about to bow out i respectfully hope that you continue to have a good time on tumblr and with your future writing. for anyone that feels hard done by or has their feelings hurt by this post , i suggest that if harry potter is so precious to you you don't like people calling out the author for her efforts in trying to eradicate their rights , maybe grow the fuck up. respectfully.
