ok so i did one of those automated story things and oh my god

Rima Mashiro was thinking about Nagihiko Fujisaki again. Nagihiko was a clever queen with girlish hair and pretty ankles. Rima walked over to the window and reflected on her noisy surroundings. She had always hated dull Seiyo with its friendly, faffdorking fields. It was a place that encouraged her tendency to feel lonely. Then she saw something in the distance, or rather someone. It was the a clever figure of Nagihiko Fujisaki. Rima gulped. She glanced at her own reflection. She was an intelligent, spiteful, tea drinker with slender hair and delicate ankles. Her friends saw her as a damp, defiant doll. Once, she had even revived a dying, kitten. But not even an intelligent person who had once revived a dying, kitten, was prepared for what Nagihiko had in store today. The cold teased like dancing rabbits, making Rima irritable. Rima grabbed a tattered fan that had been strewn nearby; she massaged it with her fingers. As Rima stepped outside and Nagihiko came closer, she could see the ice-dancing glint in his eye. Nagihiko gazed with the affection of 7995 thoughtful rough rats. He said, in hushed tones, “I love you and I want a kiss.” Rima looked back, even more irritable and still fingering the tattered fan. “Nagihiko, I don’t want you in my life,” she replied. They looked at each other with relaxed feelings, like two damaged, damp dogs laughing at a very arrogant snow storm, which had rap music playing in the background and two charming uncles thinking to the beat. Rima regarded Nagihiko’s girlish hair and pretty ankles. “I feel the same way!” revealed Rima with a delighted grin. Nagihiko looked calm, his emotions blushing like a knowledgeable, kind kimono. Then Nagihiko came inside for a nice cup of tea. THE END

Clothes

“Rima you look so awesome today” Amu exclaimed as they meet up at the park, “but it is not really our usual look, what gives you changing your look, it suits you though.”

“Nah, not changing it all together just a little change from the usual, also I kind of had Nagi pick my clothes today” Rima stated,

“WHAT!! You let your boyfriend dress you!! That’s soo……….” Amu Squealed.

“My partner, and that’s so intimate you mean, or nice!” Rima cut in cutting Amu off, “you know we don’t use the term boyfriend, he’s my partner.”

“I’m sorry, I forgot I was just so shocked, and its just so nice and stylish, didn’t expect it from a guy, Nagi!”

And while I’m at it, I might as well compare the side ships.

Now, I love me some side ships. They can make for an interesting contrast or complement for the main ship when handled properly. But if not given enough room to breathe and grow, they can feel superfluous and unnecessary

That’s how I feel about DJWifi. 

I’m going to use Rimahiko in this case because I was obsessed with them. 

So first, we get to know Rima and Nagihiko separately as people before they even interact with each other. SPOILERS but Nagihiko is actually Nadeshiko, the Queen’s chair when Amu first joins the guardians. Nadeshiko is the one to get Amu to open up, make new friends, and become the Joker. Amu is ofc devastated when she leaves, all the while not aware that the boy she talks to about her problems at the love shrine was actually her BFF. 

But taking her newfound attitude into the new school year, Amu attempts to make friends with Rima. This doesn’t go too well at first, but as the arc continues along, Amu is able to make something of a breakthrough, finding out about Rima’s secret love of comedy. And when Rima is embarrassed when everyone else finds out, Amu is able to share some of her own experiences and the two bond, with Rima instantly becoming attached to Amu. 

SO when Nagihiko comes back, the inevitable meeting happens. When Nadeshiko is mentioned as being Amu’s best friend, Rima pouts, fake cries and tells Amu she thought she was Amu’s best friend. Nagihiko calls her out for faking it. He doesn’t have anything against her though, and offers a friendly hand. She, on the other hand, tells Amu that he can’t be trusted, and thus sparking their “rivalry”. 

And it goes off from there. This is especially prominent in the anime where they have both nice, soft moments, as well as moments where they clash. The standout is episode 68, where Amu asks for Nagihiko’s help on a shopping trip to get Rima to laugh. And while she’s reluctant to whenever he’s around, she finally does after he falls into a pit (yeah, I know, real nice, but he takes it in stride and also gets revenge). Episode 7 of Doki Dokki also stands out, since at the end, she asks him out for parfaits. Meaning, she wants to hang out with him.

There’s also the fact that she’s the first of the girls to find out the truth behind Nadeshiko, and, in the manga, encourages him to finally tell Amu about it. She even gives him an encouraging pat that he’ll eventually be able to do it at the wedding.

Granted, they never actually get together in the manga officially, but there was enough development to get people hooked and interested. Compare that to DJWifi, which seems to go the opposite route - barely establish their characters, and then quickly work to get the two of them into a relationship. And look, I have nothing against DJWifi as a pairing, (other than dropping their siblings onto either Marinette or Lila and just being too “coupley” in general), but I don’t really have anything for them either. And these are supposed to be the best friends of the heroes. This should be an easy setup and payoff, shipping wise!

TL;DR: My OTP from ten years ago that never actually got together officially is better than an official pairing that got together as early as season 1.

She just wanted to do her homework in the library because the living room of her house felt too suffocating and she hadn’t expected that Nagihiko would be lurking around, like a stray cat, this early as well. Especially not on a Council meeting morning.

  She also didn’t expect that he might have a curiosity and especially one like that.

  Her nerves prickled. She swallowed and shot him the sharpest glare that she could muster.

Parfaits

Parfaits were their beginning and that was a continued tradition, when they went out as Nagi & Rima, Nagi treated her but when they went out as Nade & Rima, Rima treats Nade to the sweet.

They Frequented different places as well. As Nagi & Rima their preferred place was Karafuneya a nice place part café part parfait place.  As Rima and Nade they rarely went to the same place twice, preferring to seek out new places and often did this on their trips out of the city. Every once in a while, they treated themselves to a trip to Spa World and a trip to Karafuneya follows. Nothing is better than a nice cool parfait and Coffee after lounging in the hot pools at Spa World.

Cattonquick boarding school sweethearts/romeo & Juliet AU

In which Oliver also comes from old money and he and Felix fall in love in boarding school(?). The Quicks and the Cattons have been business partners since Queen Victoria was still kicking so Ollie and Felix have known each other their whole lives (summers and holidays always spent together) but when their family ties are suddenly severed after a hostile fight between their fathers, the boys’ last year at Eton is irrevocably ruined. As a reaction they decide (it was Felix’s idea and he succeeded in cajoling Oliver to agree) to elope run away on the first day of the Christmas holidays (imagine their respective chauffeurs endlessly waiting for them at the school gates lmao) and get married on a whim (also Felix’s idea to somehow "fix" things like ta-da! Can’t separate us now dad, we’re fucking married. Oliver is now a Catton. Family peace restored! No, not really Felix lmao.)
