idk how many people know this but jenna marbles has essentially quit youtube because of people ridiculing over shit she said 10 years ago and has removed from her channel a while back. I think it’s obvious to anyone who truly watched her that she has grown as a person and does not do any of that anymore. i’m currently in the midst of a breakdown because of this, she got me through a very dark time of my life i used her as a form of escapism. she was a contsant for me. i needed her to cope and knowing that she will likely not make any more videos because of this is so heartbreaking she doesn’t deserve this i don’t have much else to say i’m too distraught.

Hey, I just want to throw this out there into the great tumblr void.

Jenna Marbles is allowed to be human. She’s worked hard to grow from her mistakes. This isn’t the first time she’s expressed discomfort and sincere apology for the things she’s done in the past.

Like, ffs, I’m a queer POC. I get it. I really do. I would be horribly offended if she said any of those things online right now. I wouldn’t ever be able to watch any of her videos again. But the stuff that’s insensitive and in terrible taste is from EIGHT YEARS AGO PEOPLE.

She’s grown. She’s changed. She’s learned and voiced opinions and been super apologetic and more than that, SHE HAS CHANGED HER BEHAVIOR.

She is what we should be looking at as someone who we can appreciate. Sure. She did cringe stuff. Sure. Some of it did hurt me. But she’s tried so hard and for so long to bring joy to this shitty internet and I for one am FURIOUS that I don’t get to watch her make soap hands anymore, or paint jean jackets, or teach Kermit and Marbles tricks anymore.

LET PEOPLE BE HUMAN. LET THEM GROW.

I have a theory that Janai didn’t even realize that Amaya was deaf the whole time and simply thought that the sign language was a cultural choice:

Until Amaya looked away from the light as Janai screamed, “You have to look!”

Obviously, Amaya didn’t hear her.

And what’s great about this is that Janai had to have wondered why Amaya was still turning away from the light, when she was told to look at it. As far as Janai knew, Amaya was their enemy, but she was still a brave warrior. If Amaya knew that she had to look at the light, she would have looked at it. She wouldn’t have been afraid. She would have looked. Ergo, she must have not heard Janai. 

And that’s when Janai realizes that she genuinely can’t hear at all and races forward, risking her life, so that Amaya can read her lips:

I could be wrong but that’s definitely the impression I got from this scene. 

Janai spent weeks fighting Amaya, respecting her as a warrior, to the point where she bargained for her life against her sister (the queen), and only after all of that did she realize that Amaya was deaf. I don’t know, it’s just pretty cool to realize that Amaya’s deafness was never a definer in their relationship.

She thinks Julien is just the best person in the whole world. They have probably the cutest relationship. At this point we couldn’t imagine our life without her.

Y’all I was watching the new Jenna Julien Podcast and at 9:21 Julien playfully puts his hand in Jenna’s face while saying he’s putting a “Julen twist” on their activity for the show and Jenna DOESN’T flinch.

How beautiful is that? A moment after this interaction, Julien asked Jenna if she liked when he did the “Julen Twist” and she said, “No, it’s a little intimidating” but I wholeheartedly believe that’s because Julien is a sporadic Aries and not because he’s ever harmed her. I also believe Jenna wouldn’t play that shit at all if he ever did but I digress.

She feels so safe around him. She trusts him completely. Julien is so kind and loving and a joy to be around and Jenna is safe.

As someone who has dealt with domestic abuse, I can only imagine how it feels to not be constantly terrified of your partner moving to close, too quickly. From what I can tell, Jenna doesn’t have that problem.

I could cry. I’m so happy for her.
