I’m very uncomfortable with the fact that people are assigning bipolar disorder to Azealia Banks on the basis that she goes on these Twitter rampages

Even if it’s in serious context, like, people asking to take her mental state into account and that she “may have bipolar disorder ‘or something…’” If you know nothing about bipolar disorder or the variations of bipolar disorders (yeah, there are different types) please don’t assign it to strangers. It’s weird.

Being bipolar I have to combat stigmas that insist I’m prone to lashing out in the way Azealia has numerous times. Her use of transphobic, anti-Asian slurs, and other disgusting remarks have nothing to do with bipolar disorder so I’d like it if you all stop acting as if that may be a cause for that nonsense. It contributes to the stigmatization of people with mood and personality disorders.
