I wasn’t going to say anything but I’m actually really worked up about it so here’s an essay on Bob and being violent:

I love Bob Reynolds so much and he’s become a big character for the general MCU fandom so obviously there will be some discourse. But some of you need to realize that writing him as sweet/shy does not erase his history whatsoever.

Bob was a meth addict. Bob was homeless. Neither of these things make him violent. If your only proof of his violence is the chicken scene, let’s keep in mind that this was in the Void when Bob was self-isolating and the Thunderbolts were getting in the way of that isolation.

In canon, Bob’s only criminal record was a juvenile one and it was for petty theft. No weapons or violence reported. If he had been violent while on drugs as an adult, he would have been in the revolving door of a handful of prisons. There’s one report of him getting in a fight in high school, and we have no idea what caused that. Not to mention, after he’s given CRAZY amounts of power, the only times he uses those powers are when his life is being threatened!

Do I think Bob has seen some SHIT? Yes. Do I think he has gotten in fights? Absolutely. But surviving harsh environments with limited public resources and being a violent person are two completely different things.

Addiction and homelessness are real fucking issues and they affect countless people—but they do not make someone inherently violent. Stop fucking posting that take. It’s not cute.
