The inspiration for this set of work comes from my previous ideas about the potential risks of technology. I want to use the knowledge I have learned to spread people's ideas about the dangers of technology. But after getting feedback from my mentor, I found that my ideas had many shortcomings. So I reflect on it and modify it. To maintain the consistency of the theme, I developed a design system. The color is mainly based on the poster as the starting point for choosing the three primary shades of black, white, and gray, with orange, yellow, and red as the secondary colors. The font I choose is Futura font. This font is because of its high legibility. To make people more comfortable watching the content of the work, I think that the easy-to-read font is one of the indispensable factors.
In working, I found that pure ideas and techniques are far from enough to make good work. It needs to combine various aspects of knowledge and culture to reflect the depth of the work better. For example, history, society, culture, ecology and environment. These are issues that I didn't realize before, so I plan to learn and study from all aspects when creating works in the future.

In order to make the text-only URL not look monotonous, I refer to the layout of many website designs. I tried to blend some elements with the elements of my own design system and drew them.

Framing Your Project
After determining the context, I decided to design a reliable system for the work. I named the project E-waste World because I wanted to attract people's attention through this name. What is the world of e-waste? What kind of world is it? And e-waste is not just a problem of a city or a country, and it is a problem that the whole world needs to pay attention to. For example, when electronic products are burned down, they will cause severe damage to the environment. If you want to protect the environment, you must first be aware of the problem. Therefore, I hope that more people will pay attention to the issue of e-waste.
In investigating electronic waste materials, I realized the dangers of electronic waste, and this type of waste has been increasing rapidly in recent years. However, since we usually do not accumulate electronic waste and are very clean, many people are unaware of these problems. Therefore, I want to build a website about widespread science e-waste knowledge to understand and realize the seriousness of the situation. I hope this information can help them properly dispose of unnecessary e-waste.
But only one website is limited. Therefore, I will project to create more design resources related to publicity.

Making Connections
In today's era of rapid technological development, electronic products are an indispensable part of our lives. But this will also produce much electronic waste. For example, Apple has a new product launch conference every year, but after studying Apple's product maintenance. As a result, they charge high fees for repairing products, and this trend will make many users prefer to pay for a new phone rather than fix it. The consequences of this will undoubtedly lead to an increase in e-waste, thereby wasting many resources and destroying the environment. In addition, E-waste contains toxic additives and harmful substances, detrimental to the ecological environment, the brain, and the nervous system. Most of these wastes are incinerated or landfilled in garbage dumps, which will cause air pollution, soil and groundwater pollution because these factors will exacerbate global warming.
Through research and understanding, I understand the dangers of e-waste. However, the environment will not become clean after the electronic waste is burned, but it will cause more severe damage and pollution. And after a chain reaction, it will aggravate the greenhouse effect, so I thought about e-waste.

Feedback received: The theme is not clear, the poster needs more development and the online material pictures cannot be used. And the theme needs to develop a design system to maintain consistency.
I plan to focus on e-waste because I saw this sentence when I was researching. The subjective reasons are mainly the lack of awareness and attention to the seriousness of the e-waste disaster and the lack of effective methods. Observing the living environment, I can find that electronic products surround me, but I don't see electronic waste. So I never realized these problems. Through research, I discovered that e-waste is increasing rapidly every year, and the heavy metals contained in e-waste are harmful to the environment, human body, and nerves. These are substantial potential risks. I want to let more people know about the dangers of e-waste through a campaign project.
Therefore I divided the subject into three subheadings:
1. The output of e-waste is the fastest in recent years
2. E-waste is a toxic substance
3. Let more people pay attention to and understand e-waste

Based on the above information, I divided the topic of potential risks of technology into three subheadings.
1. Digital Life
2. Use the screen for a long time
3. Electronic waste
I made two posters and one logo. I emailed the design ideas and resources of these posters to the tutor.
Because now a large amount of information is known by people through mobile phones. For example, many people will make videos to share their environment, knowledge, technology, language, and travel. People will be attracted by these and start playing on mobile phones to discover new and exciting things. These factors may cause them to gradually reduce their communication gatherings and play with their mobile phones. These are the main thoughts about my digital life. In terms of colors, I used cool colors and night feelings to accentuate loneliness.
The second poster is about using the screen for a long time. My initial thought was that people playing with mobile phones were dragged into the hell-like world. But when I did it, I found that the effect was not ideal. The full poster has no priority, so I don't understand it very well, and I don't know how to modify it, so I gave up. I began to think about this topic, what I wanted to express that person can clearly understand. So I remembered the results of the previous survey. People who use the screen for a long time can cause physical damage and memory loss. Then I started searching for pictures with memory loss, and there are many ways to express it. But the intuitive and impactful effect, I think, is that the head is slowly breaking into pieces. So I started to learn and tried to make my poster.
While investigating logos, I discovered that there are many different types of logos besides the 7 major types of logos. What makes me more interesting is the negative space logo. The biggest feature of this style is that it has a certain "interpretation" meaning, which adds a lot of interest visually, but it increases the difficulty of design and brand prominence. So, I tried and made one.

The Global E-waste Monitor 2020, a new report produced in collaboration with the UN Environment Program (UNEP), found that a record 53.6 million metric tons of electronic waste was generated last year. Raw materials contained in that waste had approximately $57 billion in value.
Now in its third edition, the 2020 report was created by UN University’s Global E-waste Statistics Partnership, the International Telecommunication Union, the International Solid Waste Association, and UNEP with contributions from the World Health Organization and the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development.
Electronic waste is defined in the report as discarded products with a battery or plug. Last year’s record amount of electronic waste was up 21% in five years, the Global E-waste Monitor 2020 said. Regionally, Asia generated the largest volume of e-waste, 24.9 million metric tons (Mt), with the Americas generating 13.1 Mt, Europe at 12 Mt, Africa with 2.9 mt, and Oceana following with 0.7 Mt, according to the researchers.
By 2030, the report predicts that global e-waste will nearly double to reach 74 million metric tons, driven by increased consumption of electric and electronic equipment that has “short life-cycles and few options for repair.”
“Only 17.4% of 2019’s e-waste was collected and recycled,” the report authors wrote. “This means that gold, silver, copper, platinum and other high-value, recoverable materials conservatively valued at $57 billion — a sum greater than the gross domestic product of most countries — were mostly dumped or burned rather than being collected for treatment and reuse.”
Although electric and electronic equipment contain as many as 69 elements from the periodic table and the cost of recycling the materials in them can be high, e-waste could still represent an important source of secondary materials in a circular economy, the authors said.
“By improving e-waste collection and recycling practices worldwide, a considerable amount of secondary raw materials — precious, critical, and non-critical — could be made readily available to re-enter the manufacturing process while reducing the continuous extraction of new materials,” the report found.

These are the fonts I plan to use for my theme. My topic is technology, so the fonts I look for are all about technology and the future of these words. These factors can better assist my theme.
