I kinda dislike a large partion of Hades fans.
They say stuff like how he "is the only god who haven't done anything wrong", and when you point out him kidnapping Persephone, you get eather a "No. He did not kidnap her! In an another version she goas with him villingly" wich is then usually fallowed by a "villingly to get away from her overbearing mother", or a "Yes. But he kidnapped her from anj abusive mother!" response.
How can this people be so fucking wrong, and so comfident?
When they say "another version" they usually mean modern retellings writen by Americans.
Then they go on about how "Hades is actually the good guy. But everyone misunderstood him, and is always unfairly potrayd as the villain nowadays". Do these people ever looked at how Hades was potrayd in the past 5-10 years? Nowadays in most stories he is potrayd as a good guy, or at least as natural. And when they talk about Hades being """"""""""""always"""""""""""" potrayd as a villain they mean Disney's Hercules movie, God of War games, and the Clash of the Titans remake. The Clash of the Titans remake was made in 2010, the first God of War game was released in 2005 and all the Gods are bad guys in it, and Disney's Herucles movie was released in 1997.
Are these people live under a fucking rock or something?

still thinking about that r/hypotheticalsituation post where someone was like "what if a potato chip spawned somewhere randomly in the world. and every hour the number of potato chips at that location would double. and the only way to get rid of them for good would be to eat all of the potato chips before they doubled again." and someone calculated that it would only take like, 48 hours of people ignoring a weird pile of potato chips before an absolutely irreconcilable number of potato chips was blanketing a city.
and then people were like "no wait if it spawns randomly in the world, it's highly likely it would be in an ocean" and then people were debating whether there were enough small fish swimming at the surface in the open ocean that would be able to eat a potato chip and thus save humanity from the potato chip apocalypse.

Listen to the story of Abdul Rahman's family
Here lives fell... and homes were destroyed, but hope still awaits your donation.
He stands on the rubble of what was, just hours before, a warm shelter for an entire family. . . A massacre occured here, with more than 20 martyrs were killed in a single moment.
Tumblr media
This was his uncle’s house, but now it's no longer there. . . God miraculously granted them their survival. They were pulled from the rubble with serious injuries, while everyone on the upper floor was martyred. Will you wait for the same to happen to the rest of them?
Tumblr media
Will they have to be buried beneath the rubble before anyone acts? Help them survive. . . Help them escape Gaza before it's too late. 💔 Every donation from you is a chance for a new life for Abdul. The screams of children, the groans of the wounded, and the smell of dust and blood still linger. . . How long? How long must they wait for death? How long will their blood be allowed to bleed unseen and unheard? 💔
They have lost everything. Now they plead for the chance to live. Your donation today could save a life, and give a child a chance to survive.
Please don’t scroll past. Share. Donate. Be part of saving a life.
Even the smallest donation could be the reason this family escapes.
Only 8% of the €30k goal has been reached so far. Please do your best to donate and share.
Abdul's campaign has been verified by GazaVetters #642.

Reading Medusa: The Girl Behind the Myth by Jessie Burton so you don't have to.
Yes I joind to @sarafangirlart and @aliciavance4228 in reading Medusa retellings. Let's hope this will not be that bad. But I have low hopes.
Chapter 1.
The story opens with Medusa monologing.
So then we learn more about her.
Tumblr media
Yay! Euryale and Stheno are mentiond and aknowliged! :D
But she has a dog? Is the dog blind? Or is this one of those retellings where her gaze only works on men? My gues is the latter.
So anyways, then a boy arrives to her island.
Tumblr media
Please don't tell me that this is supposed to be Perseus. So Medusa is having sad monologe about how much he should leave, then turns out that the boy come with a dog. Turns out that the dog's name is Orado.
Tumblr media
So yeah, she just wants a friend.
Chapter 2.
Medusa is being sad an all, with questions if the boy would see a girl or a monster, then remembers that he shouldn't see her. Thenwe learn that she has been living on this island seinc four years.
Then we learn that now her hair is just a bunch of colorfull snakes.
Tumblr media
So I gues her sisters doas not have snake hair. BOO! I have the feeling that this book will be full of Athena slender.
Tumblr media
Athena in this book:
Tumblr media
Then we learn that she named one of her snakes.
"I felt a twitch from the small serpent I’d called Echo. Echo was pink in colour, with emerald bands all up her body, and actually, she was sweet of nature. I turned in the direction that Echo was straining, and something snagged my eye."
Medusa ignors Echo's warning, and contenues to observe the boy.
Tumblr media
I can't belive that I have to say this. I hope that this is an OC and not Perseus. Please be an OC and not Perseus.
Argentus backs away when the boy trys to pet him, then Medusa asks him from the clif who he is.
Tumblr media
It's Persues. If this takes a rout to the Perseus x Medusa way, I will put this as one of the sins of this book.
Also Medusa is lonely? I gues she misses having company that is around her age. So it's safe to say that she was aged down for this.
Medusa being aged down goas to the sin counter.
So Persues trys to climb the cliff, but Medusa who have hiden away, tells him to stay there.
Tumblr media
This is so fucking stupid. I'm sorry. Perseus grown up as a fisherman. I'm pretty shure he knows how to catch a fish.
Then it turns out that he is lost, and is on a mission sent by a powerfull man, and Medusa imedietly feels a conection.
Medusa starts to feel sorry for him, so she offers her a chance to stay in a hiden cave and some food.
Tumblr media
Me reading this line:
Tumblr media
And here comes the next sin of this book. How Medusa is writen here.
Medusa is writen here as "I don't want to hurt anyne, I'm so lonely, and sad". It just doas not work.
Chapter 3.
Medusa gived Perseus some grilled fish, whaile hiding away from him.
The two contenue to talk, and Perseus is asking her questions.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry but what? Edge of the Night? Okey. Let's move on.
Medusa remembers being transformd into this.
Tumblr media
So one of the snakes is called Artemis. Artemis. Like the goddess.
The thing is there are named snakes from Medusa's head, that I sometimes forget about. If I'm wrong please corect me.
I'm fine with the writer naming the snakes but why these nemas? Echo, and Artemis? This just rather feels as if the writer went "See! You recognise those names", but it just feels as if this is here for just the sake of a name drop.
Tumblr media
From all the names, why Merina? Merina is a Japanise name.
So yes. It's defenetly unusuall in Ancient Greece.
Chapter 4.
So Perseus and Medusa contenue to talk. And Medusa starts to talk about the place she is from, then mentions Poseidon, and has a small panic attack. Then she talks about her family.
Tumblr media
Finaly a retelling that aknowliges her parents being gods. But this is not enough for me to give this book a saving grace, at least for me. Then Medusa and Perseus bond over the fect that they are both mortal.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry, but this feels like a poor exuse for the two to have a conection, at least from Perseus's point of vow.
Then Perseus talks about his back ground.
Tumblr media
So Perseus left Danae withouth telling it to her. Okey I gues.
So then Medusa asks him about his childhood, and how everything happands.
Tumblr media
I start compleining now agien.
Danae's situation is not like the case of Medusa's in this book. Depending of telling Danae was eather in isoletion, or with a nursemaid. Whaile Medusa has her sisters, and a dog. So shut up Medusa, her and your case is not the same.
So Danae's rape is ereased? She agreed to Zeus's advence? Jessie Burton what were you thinking? In the myth Zeus doas not ask her, and defenetly doas not say these stuff.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes. Danae's rape was ereased. This goas to the sin counter.
Also what is this "It would never happan to you"?
And that is also not something that they have in common.
Tumblr media
Then Medusa has a panic attack hearing Poseidon's name. Persues hears this, and wants to go to see how she is doing, but Medusa resfuses, so Perseus stays there, and contenues his backstory, but because Medusa hears her sisters wings flaping, asks him to hide in the cave.
Then her sisters arrive, and notice that something is defrent about Medusa, but the two eventually leave her alone.
Tumblr media
Yes. This book is taking the "Medusa have fallen in love with Perseus" rout, wich is the next sin of this book.
And why would she pry to Athena for a good love life? Wouldn't Aphrodite or Eros be batter options?
Chapter 5.
Medusa is having a nightmare about Athena cursing her and her sisters.
Tumblr media
Athena is a cartoon villain in this. This is the next sin of this book.
The Medusa and her sisters leave the village. Her two sisters grab Medusa, and her dog, and carry her away. Because the writer was that much of a cowerd and decided to have Medusa be the only sister withouth wings.
Then Medusa wakes up, and her sisters are already gone, and she goas to the wall of the cave so she can talk to Perseus who is one the othersode, and did not notice her two sisters flying away.
Tumblr media
More sad and tragic Medusa monologe.
Perseus asks her, if she can go outside. But she refuses.
Tumblr media
Yes. One of the snakes is named Callisto.
Perseus aks why can't she go outside, and Medusa makes exuses then a bit mentions Athena, and she has an another monologe.
Tumblr media
Stop trying to make Perseus x Medusa a thing. This "Medusa have fallen in love with Perseus"/"They could be a thing" is this book's next sin.
Perseus contenued to ask her, more and in the end this happands.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes. Disfigured. By the way. I'm reading the ilustrated version, and there is an illustration of her. And it's this.
Tumblr media
This is disfigured and monsterous acording to this book.
And this is also a sin of this book. Medusa is clearly meant to be this monsterous, ugly, disfigured character, but because the writer and possably the ilustrater are cowerds it fails. If she wanted her to be monsterous then why didn't niether of them used the older depictions as a bases for this book? This just screams "She is conventionaly actractive, because how else would me or the writer will sorry for her?"
And this chapter ends with this.
Tumblr media
I have the feeling that this book will get worse after this.

Reading To Sway a Trickster: A Sacrificial Bride Romance by Jes Drew. Chapter 36-40
Yes. I just really want to finish this mess.
Chapter 36.
This chapter is from Hebe's pow.
Hebe learnd how to transform with chloths. And learns how to creat rifts.
Tumblr media
I have said this before, and I say it agein. I don't like how the crossover is executed.
Also why would Atum needs to banish Hades into the Underworld?
Tumblr media
I think I will mention this now, but this "Zeus will give a weapon to humans so that the creator will send a flood to vipe them out" is just stupid in my openion. It just sounds like a bad mix of the Biblical flood tale, and Zeus viping humanity out.
Also if this Creator is the Biblical god, then doasn't that mean that he knows about Zeus's pland, and will still punish him?
And what makes Prometheus think that they marrige will be enough to pursue the gods to not vipe humanity out?
Anyway back to the story. Prometheus creats a makeshift bed for Hebe out of chloths, then goas away to regenerate his power, and when he is gone Hebe takes a new dress, and opens a rift to Atum's temple on Olympus.
Chapter 37.
This chapter is from Prometheus's pow.
Tumblr media
I have to ask this agein. What makes him think that this would work?
Then he find out that Hebe went back to Olympus, and he fallows her. He meets Aphrodite, then he meets with Zeus.
He tells Zeus that he is ready to betray Atum, and the realises that this is not Zeus, but Hebe taking Zeus's form. And realises that he just ruid they marrige.
Chapter 28.
This chapter starts from Hebe's pow.
She feels betrayd and such, as she searches for the fire, wich she finds.
Tumblr media
I hate how in this book Prometheus hates humans. He never did in the myths.
Anyways. She takes the fire, and transforms into a bird, and flys away. At this point I don't question it.
Then it swtiches to Prometheus's pow.
Prometheus fallows her. Zeus notices that someone have stollen the fire. And this happands.
Tumblr media
Yes. This is one of those retellings. The "You thought that this is how it happands, but no. It actually happand like this".
So Prometheus get's hit by one of Zeus's lightnings.
Chapter 29.
This chapter starts from Hebe's pow.
She flys to Dionysus's temple, and yes. Dionysus is reduced to parting and drinking alcohol.
Here we meet Atum agein. And both him and Dionysus want's to know where Prometheus is.
Then it changes to Prometheus's pow.
Tumblr media
So yeah. I gues Zeus has his own torture chambers.
So Prometheus is being tortured by Zeus. Prometheus lies about him distroying the fire, but Zeus doas not belive it, so he contenues to torture him.
Then the eagle apears.
Tumblr media
So yeah. We know what will happan now.
Chapter 40.
This chapter starts from Hebe's pow.
She tells Atum and Dionysus that Prometheus betrayd them. And she realises that her power is weakening.
Tumblr media
So she comes to the conclusion that Prometheus betrayal have ruinf the bondig. Over all nothing really happands.
Then it switches to Prometheus's pow.
He is tortured. The eagle just left, and Zeus come back to ask him agein where is the fire. Prometheus refuses to tell him agein. Then Zeus leaves.
Tumblr media
What promise? No. This is a genuen question? What promise. Did the "Creator" made a promise to end the lives of the gods or something?
Then it switches back to Hebe's pow.
Hebe has a nightmare.
Tumblr media
Then she wake up, and sees Atum, Dionysus, And Sia talking. Then the three send Sia to spy on Zeus in order to know if Prometheus is safe or not.

Note: For some reason this app no longer allows me to edit this reblog, so I decided to create a separate post.
Chapter Fourty-Three
During dinner Perseus claims that he will go to Argos in order to kill his grandfather and take the throne. Proteus opposes his decision, telling him that this is an inhumane thing to do, and that he could rule over Mycenae (because apparently in this retelling this city already existed and wasn't founded by Perseus) as well:
Tumblr media
The level of mischaracterization alone is astounding.
youtube
But Perseus doesn't change his mind and still wants to murder Acrisius anyway. Danaë then tells him that she and Andromeda will follow him.
Chapter Fourty-Four
Perseus, Danaë and Andromeda arrive in Argos, and Danaë instantly starta remembering her past:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You know, these fragments would've been much more emotional if the author would've payed respect to the source material instead of writing... this.
Danaë then reunites with her handmaid and she instantly apologizes for telling her father about her pregnancy years ago, not knowing that he would literally try to kill her uWu. 🥺
Literally what happened back then:
youtube
Perseus immediately asks where is he, but the servant only knows that he left his home soon after finding out about their arrival in Tiryns. Perseus now wants to search everywhere until he would finally find him. He still doesn't listen to his wife and mother's advices, and does whatever he wants to.
Chapter Fourty-Five
Perseus, Danaë and Andromeda are heading towards Larissa, where they find Acrisius in the temple. Danaë asks Perseus if she could talk to him first, and he eventually agrees despite of his dissapointment.
Danaë reunites with her father in a wanna-be emotional, two-pages moment:
Tumblr media
This entire scene is then interrupted by Perseus who got bored and wants to stab him already. But both his mother and wife oppose him in another wanna-be deep and emotional scene:
Tumblr media
Perseus finally gives up then and leaves the temple, letting his grandfather alone.
Chapter Fourty-Six
As they're walking down the hill Danaë tells Perseus he should give them his bag and let them bury Medusa’s head, now that she already "proved himself to be a hero", and because it is a sin to offer no grave to a corpse. As they're burying it Andromeda comes up with the big reveal:
Tumblr media
youtube
This book then ends with its enlightening, empowering and 100% feminist message:
Tumblr media
Apparently I lied while reviewing Crown of Serpents. THIS is the worst book I've read this year so far!

Reading Shadow Of Perseus So You Don't Have To
Tumblr media
Okay, before starting to actually dissect this book I cannot help but notice that the author inserted these fragments in her novel:
Tumblr media
"Oh, look at me! I just copy n' pasted some random ancient texts in my shitty retelling to prove that I did my own search and I know what I'm supposed to write about. I'm so smart y'all! 🤓"
Anyway, this book is written from the POVs of different women from the life of Perseus. First we have Danaë's POV, then Medusa’s, then Andromeda's and then Danaë’s again. *sighs*
Chapter One
Danaë has a handmaid named Korinna. Which yes, I know that it's actually a greek name and that it comes from kore, but it's kinda funny to me since here Corina is that one middle-aged woman who sits on the balcony while gossiping the entire town and spitting seeds in your head.
Danaë is currently in Larissa, giving offerings at the temple of... Apollo and Artemis?! I'm sorry, but the author does know that these two generally had separate temples, right? Right?!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Are you gonna tell me that Danaë's mother is dead or something?! Or that Acrisius wants to remarry a girl who's probably younger than his own daughter instead of expecting a grandchild from her instead?! Bitch, that man was probably so old he needed two packages of Viagra™ and a hot chick to put a finger in his ass in order to get a boner if the best he was able to do in his prime was one or two daughters.
Side Note: We're still at the second page of this retelling, by the way...
Okay, we're told that Danaë never left Argos before but would want to travel around the world because... her cool uncle told her many stories throughout time. Are you gonna tell me that you're going to turn even Proteus into a nice guy just so that your Perseus would look like the ultimate Genghis Khan with a personality disorder?! Really?! I mean, SERIOUSLY?!
After leaving the temple the two women make their way to the city. But Danae knew they had no reason to fear. No one in Argos would dare harm the daughter of Akrisios, nor one of his slaves. Alright, quick question: How do people, who lived in an era where stuff such as television, photography, posters etc. didn't exist, knew how does the princess of Argos looks like unless she traveled so oftenly that citizens got used of her face? Especially considering the fact that back then women usually had a more secluded life.
"Argos had no shortage of men hoping to marry Akrisios’s only daughter. But as each one presented himself, her father found a reason to reject them. They were too fat, too thin, too poor, too wealthy, too foolish, too clever."
Sooo... basically any average balkan father? I'm confused, is this supposed to depict him in a worse light? Anyway, Danaë is now musing about how many men her father rejected even when she found them handsome and wanted to marry them for the rest of this chapter or so.
Chapter Two
Danaë turns back to the "Golden House" (which honestly sounds like some sort of a hotel which makes this retelling even more absurd) where she finds her father and uncle complaining again.
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, this is the most accurate fragment from this book so far.
Danaë then joins her cousins at the table, which by the way have the exact same personality (none, that is), divided into three.
"Like his twin brother, Danae’s uncle had begotten no sons, and yet he did not seem to resent the fact. He doted on his three daughters as if they were the greatest gifts the gods could have bestowed."
youtube
First of all, Megapenthes is right here! Second of all, the greatest irony out there is that Acrisius DID love and care for his daughter before finding out about the prophecy, which makes her imprisonment even more tragic. Sanitizing the exact same depraved fossil who assaulted Danaë and even his own daughter in one obscure source in a so-called "Feminist" retelling should perhaps make you consider to abandon writing this book. Unfortunately we're only at chapter 2 and there are 44 more chapters that will follow. *sighs*
"Her grandmother used to say that they had quarreled even when they were in the womb, and although Danae knew she was joking it didn’t seem improbable."
Oh trust me, she was NOT joking! By the way, did you know that Danaë’s mother died when she was little? Because why would one explore the bond between a mother and a daughter when you could have her be in a good relationship with her pedo uncle? Booooooooooring!
Acrisius' chief emissary then suddenly appears, telling him that they received a message from the Oracle and has to talk to him in private. Acrisius then finds out that he won't be the one who'll have a son, but his daughter, and that said son will eventually kill him. Acrisius is not so happy y'all.
youtube
Chapter Three
Danaë is currently in her prison for two days. I'm sorry, but this is supposed to be a disturbing, hearbreaking moment and yet this is how it reads like:
Tumblr media
Her uncle shows herself to be appalled by his brother's actions and wants to see his niece, because of fricking course! 🙄
Because sitting in a room all day is boring and she runs out of hobbies Danaë asks one of her servants to bring her a lyre to occupy herself with, which she does. This chapter ends with Danaë playing the instrument while crying because of her paranoic father.
Chapter Four
One week later Danaë receives a visit from the baker's son named Myron, which turns out to be some uncooked OC (pun intended). By the way, Myron is a stupid name to choose for someone from the Late Bronze Age (we have it too under the variant of Miron), since it literally comes from myrrh which has a greater importance in Abrahamic religions especially. Back to the plot, Myron tells Danaë that he has heard her playing the lyre and fell in love with her music so he decided to visit her, and gave her a cake as a gift before leaving, promising her it's not the first time when he'll pay her a visit.
This is the dumbest chapter so far, because what do you mean Acrisius is senile enough to let his daughter in a chamber anyone could enter in without much difficulty if the entire point of her imprisonment was to keep her a virgin so that she won't give birth to a son?! And before asking: No, that guy didn't came in through the window, because that room has no windows to begin with; he simply used the door just like any normal person. At this point I'm wondering how is Danaë supposed to be isolated if all she would have to do to escape is to open that fucking door, and those guardians are clearly not doing their job.
Chapter Five
Danaë is now waiting for the uncooked OC to come to her that night (pretty sure the accidental innuendo was actually intended). He turns back with another piece of cake, then starts to tell her about his family drama, poverty and how he intends to live Argos with a ship. Danaë is all in heat because it's the first time she's so close to a boy, and he's also quite nice and handsome too.
Tumblr media
"friend" pretty sure this guy will soon father Perseus, so before reaching another chapter here's my advice:
youtube
Chapter Six
The uncooked OC is visiting Danaë every night. Danae realized she had never really had a friend before. A true friend. Not her cousins bound to her by blood and forced proximity, or her handmaid bound by servitude. Myron owed her no loyalty. He asked for nothing from her. Don't you guys love it when a supposedly feminist retelling has a woman having a stronger bond with a male OC than with the canonical female figures she might have actually been close to? I know!
One day Danaë receives a visit from her father, after about a month or so ever since he locked her away. Danaë then begs him to release her, telling him that as long as he rejects any suitors or makes a priestess she won't bear any children, to which he makes it clear that she could still get pregnant via seduction or rape and this is the safest possible way to avoid the prophecy, then leaves.
"And it was then that she knew his true fear. He did not fear her but her body—the life it could bring, and the death. Its permeability, its fatal fecundity. This was no new threat. He had defended against it all her life. The oracle had only made his fear greater, the stakes higher. And with that realization she knew she was lost."
Something tells me that the author was thinking "I'm a genius." while writing this and started to self-compliment herself as if she wrote Oppenheimer's "Now I am become Death." speech.
The uncooked OC visits her that night again and Danaë tells him about her conversation with her father. He then tries to comfort her, and they start to kiss and fuck.
youtube
Chapter Seven
This chapter is only three pages (not that the other would be much longer anyway), and it's basically just the uncooked OC telling Danaë that he could help her escape, and run together far from Argos. But they don't really come with any plan at all, because Danaë still hopes that her father will change his mind one day and free her anyway.
Tumblr media
I'm sorry girl, but just because you don't believe in prophecies or in getting pregnant after the first time that doesn’t mean that your father shares the exact same beliefs as yours, nor that he will free you for asking him politely.
Chapter Eight
Danaë discovers that: "Oh well, you could ACTUALLY get pregnant after the first time!" and realizes how stupid and desperate she was all this time. Her servant is the one who observed her nauseous moods sooner and informs her father about it, and he quickly realizes that his daughter might be in fact pregnant.
But Danaë still didn't figure out that the handmaid already suspects something, so she cuts her tight with a knife and stains her rags and wool with blood so that she would believe she didn’t lose her periods. But exactly in this moment her father enters her chambers and discovers her trickery.
Friendly reminder that the original Danaë managed to keep Perseus hidden for three or four years, while this one wasn't able to hide her pregnancy in the first place.
Chapter Nine
Danaë is held captive for a while, this time in her older bedroom instead of her prison, crying about how she can no longer see her beloved uncooked OC boyfriend again until her father asks her to come with him. They travel during nighttime in a wagon for a while, before they stop nearby the sea. Acrisius then asks his men to bind his daughter and throw her in a boat, then cast the boat into the see because he is a "pious men" and would rather know his daughter killed by the waves of Poseidon than his own hands. Danaë begs for forgiveness when her pedo uncle suddenly appears:
Tumblr media
youtube
Proteus wasn't able to save his niece, so she's tied thrown into the boat anyway.
Chapter Ten
Danaë bemoans her own fate while pregnant and tied into the boat, praying that Poseidon won't cast any storm. I'm sorry, but this chapter alone is only three or four pages, and extremely dumb for numerous reasons:
1) The chances of a pregnant woman devoided of any food to not die are very low, let aside to not lose her pregnancy. Perseus was already a baby or a small child and Danaë wasn't tied in the original myth. Not to mention the fact that here she isn't in a chest but in a boat, making her more vulnerable and exposet to any danger.
2) Danaë and Perseus weren't completely abandoned, but protected and safely carried away by Poseidon and the Nereids. But because in this shitty retelling there are no gods the fact that her and her fetus somehow survived is less credible.
3) This is the distance between Argos and Seriphos, by the way:
Tumblr media
There's no way that trip lasted for only one day or a few hours.
That boat is eventually found by Dictys and other fishermen, who manages to safely rescue Danaë.

We are still at the stage where we can only just make theories, but I have a feeling that he is more of a representetion of death in war, more specificly the death of soldiers on the battle field.
I'm probably wrong, because I base this on the character disgne, and the spash art for his insight II. So there is a chence that I'm worng, and I'm just picking up the details. But hear me out, because this still might be intresting.

His head is made up of knives, guns, and something that seems to be barbed wire. All of those were used by soldiers in trenchs, and combat. And he also has barbed wire around his head in his based disgne.

The poppy flowers from his chest.
Red poppy flowers are a symbol of remembrence of veterans, specifivly WWI. Whail white poppy flowers symbolise peace.

In his Insight II splash art, he is leading a black horse, in a river.
In Scottish Celtic belifes, black horses represented death.
And he is named after the Charon the ferryman of the underworld from Greek mythology. The mythical Charon in psychopomp. A psychopomp is a creature, god, spirit, angel, or demon who escorts the newly deceased souls from the world of the living to the afterlife. Charon the ferryman of the dead helps the dead cross the river Styx to Hades. So him being names after Charon could posably mean something.

One more thing about the insight II splash art. There is a raven or crow above him. Ravens and crows are a vide spread symbol for death. Both Ravens and crows have tendencies to eat corpses. Ravens and crows used to stalk battlesfields just so that they can eat from the corpses of the dead soldiers.

Another details is the dog tags in is base disgne. I don't think I have to explain what dog tags are used for.
Agein. I'm probably wrong, about him being a sort of representetion of death in the battlefield, because I based this on these details, including the name. So there is a chance that I'm just reading to much into this.
So, at least on twitter there was a smidge of confused curiosity over the fact that while in trailer, Charon speaks German, the name of his character story thingy is in Italian.
Well, I raise you this, what if Charon is (was?) italian but lived in the regions that were under the control of austria-hungary at the time so it was them he fought for and died in one of the battles of the isonzo
