letter hits different considering a companion enlistment. i always thought "scary" and "afraid" made sense considering impending enlistment anyway. But "us" and "together" elevate it into their shared experience.

who knows if it was actually written in jungkook in mind, but "never forget that we're together" sounds a lot like what we've been saying: "at least they have each other."

Don't Be Weird

a reminder during this difficult time...

if you are willingly seeking out unofficial pictures of the boys, trying to find their military schedules, looking up what they're eating every day, describing throwing/using weapons of mass destruction as a fun 'adrenaline' inducing activity... please respectfully get help. If you are trying to actively romanticize the military despite this being a forced conscription, you need to reevaluate your position as a fan and realize that this isn't some fun summer camp. They are being taught how to kill people. They are being forced to give up over eighteen months of their lives for a war decades older than they are. Both Namjoon and Yoongi have written about the subject of enlistment in quite a harrowing manner. I recommend you look into their works and stop viewing a government institution built on turning Korean men into personal property as something cute and quirky.

I have seen way too many people look into military schedules and make heart-and-rose-type posts about the members throwing grenades. Fucking grenades. BTS are already going through an extremely difficult time and they do not need an army of stalkers endangering them further.

Also...

DON'T FUCKING WRITE THEM LETTERS.

The company already addressed this several times with both Jin and Hoseok's enlistment, so if you write them a letter, you're not a fan -- you're a terrible person. I'm not going to sugarcoat that because you're actively going against their wishes.

Anyone who makes the military about ships gets a hard block from me. Anyone who tries to leak personal information gets a hard block from me. You will also be reported for actively trying to doxx someone. I've seen some people pass around that blurry picture of Jimin and Jungkook in a military classroom being like "SEE, THEY'RE NOT SITTING TOGETHER SO THEY'RE NOT ACTUALLY COMPANION SOLDIERS/DATING" as if you know how the seating chart works in the fucking military. No Sasaengs. No unconfirmed sources. No shippers. Nothing.

Get. A. Grip.

This type of obsession is not normal.

I'm stuck with you all until 2025, so I'm not going to sit here and watch you all call forced conscription sexy. As a non-religious person, I'll still say that you're going to hell for that.

As a Jikooker, I'm lowkey creeped out by the info people get on them now that they are in the military. I saw people keeping track of what they eat, or the rooms they will stay in, and now the dogtag. Don't get me wrong, knowing that they are there together gives me all kinds of fuzzy feelings, and I think that enlisting together is the highest level of commitment that they could've shown to each other and the world - even if I can't claim to know the nature of their relationship and can only assume that they may be something more than just friends - but that's enough for me, to know that they are together and that they provide support for each other there. I feel like Jikookers are prying now, and what Jk and Jm do in the ms is none of our business bc military isn't an episode of Bon Voyage, I'm sure that this period is rough for them and we should all just leave them alone bc this is getting really creepy.

i'm feeling so many different feelings. like did part of me predict this, maybe. are they being predictable, yes. am i still kinda in shock, yes. the prospect of them applying for this program so they can stay together is kinda funny, the separation anxiety would probably eat them alive :').

most of all, i'm just happy they have each other in such a difficult time.

i dont give two fucks about taehyung hearing seven first, as far as we are aware, jungkook wasn’t the first to hear jimin’s music either. i think it was hobi or yoongi.

regardless, look at where jimin is right now and what we are hearing about. clearly jikook are spending time together and possibly even filming something during this important time for jungkook. and where is taehyung? still in paris who fucking knows.

When it came to songs like Still With You and Letter, I still found that ARMY are hesitant to add the other layer of possible interpretation to include Jikook, even from fellow Jikookers. One clip from today’s BTS episode showcasing the reacting Jimin had to Hobi’s flowers, I couldn’t help but think of this situation. Here’s the clip I’m talking about:

Hobi’s “This flower means everlasting love” and Jimin’s flustered “Yeah…for ARMY” feels like a smaller example of both the songs as well as a few Jikook moments, where in order to redirect the thought of love and romance between the members, they turn it into an “I love ARMY” moment. Almost as if it was a reflex.

Of course when it comes to their explanation to their music, I still stand by the idea that multiple interpretations can exist in the same space to effectively embrace their words while exploring other possibilities. This situation just struck me as a eureka moment, showcasing once again that when discussing Jikook moments the possibility of using ARMY as a stand-in for each other still stands.
