This “Liar”...

Is such an obvious state to her life xD I can’t even…

Well then.

We know from the ending that this is in fact a dream (or a nightmare). In “real life”, we do not know for certain what’s going on. We know she wakes up on a regular bedroom and the pink news are still going. But C has done this before, impersonating a character from TV (p.e. Havana) in this case perhaps she is having a nightmare of the harsh reality of living the FAME life (which can also be a part of her life - I mean, we have seen C with her family at home, and it doesn’t look like a mansion, it just seems like a normal family home).

Regarding the “dream” we have the main factor of events - a note!

She probably received the note during the day, then went to sleep and had nightmares fueled by her anxiety of the fame life.

C is having lunch with her boyfriend, and the waiter gives her a note in secrecy making it clear that it’s from someone related to a “heart” - love.

Mysterious love note-message from SOMEONE she is interested/fond of, which is delivered by the “bus-boy”

Question right now (for those who question, is): is it from himself?

Plot twists:

1. He could be just a mutual friend passing a message from someone else… & helping out

2. He could have fallen in love (???) while trying to help out the romance or get stuck in a fake PR romance for the sake of their carers

(i swear they look like me and my gay best friend… moving on!!!)

True facts & Trivia:

- The actor playing it (Keiynan Lonsdale) has brown eyes, gentle smile and kind of an lazy eye xD

(i swear the earing wasn’t on purpose…)

- The actor played a key-role in the coming of age “Love, Simon”

- Shawn Mendes almost got/auditioned for the role of “Love, Simon”

- Keiynan Lonsdale is in fact… LGBTQ+

- …and Shawn Mendes has been reported to be gay over and over, by rumors and fake? leaked photos

Conclusion so far:

Yes. The “bus boy” is definitely portraying Shawn.

Regarding the “boyfriend”:

need I say more? (despite the fact that Zak Steiner is much more cute?).

So those are the introductions to the 3 main characters (4 if you count the person that actually wrote the note).

The video goes on to have plenty of symbolism and references (much like Shameless) but I think this one portrays much more of C actual personality. I think sometimes on her quiet hours she actually does this:

xD I can just picture her doing this, because she feels she can’t win either way so might as well just laugh about it sometimes, because if she doesn’t… shit gets serious.

So actual clues, regarding the MV, that we got from C is that she said “every time I lie, I die”.

While she is being shown the necklace right at the start, she is about to say some things but is never able because gets interrupted, so she doesn’t get to lie. But when she starts… The first one when she tries to pronounce the word “love” to the boyfriend (in whatever context) and dies suffocated on her own words.

When she dies, she wakes up to relive the day again and has a chance to start over, free of lies (or not).

She tells him a truth (regarding the stigma of having to maintain a fit form and not eat carbs at all) and walks away happy.

Plenty of symbolism shows up. ANOTHER “GAY COUPLE” KISS like in another of her MV (which are still few) and a bunch of people tell the truth about themselves.

In the background we have those damn roses that were camren but now they managed to convert it to the PR showmila

We also have emphases on another waiter, not sure what the 100 to 10% means but what I care about are the flowers next to him

You see when I search for it (if someone knows what type of flowers those are please tell me):

I couldn’t make up if they were violet or purple. But either way, both colors have a strong presence in what?!

Moving on, that’s the truth! But then she gets hit by a freaking elephant (in the room* pun intended), why?

Well, I think not all that goes of lies in her life, are words. Some are just implications and suppositions. So what happens right before she gets hit by an elephant?

I think we see a lie (or she does in her dream).

Now note, that in the following scene she is sharing the bed with both of them. But she runs either way, ignoring the bus-boy too. BUT, isn’t he the one that she wanted???!

She doesn’t want EITHER of them. She wants her dear NOTE! She takes it, and runs. And hides. And where, dear Lesbian Jesus, does she hide? xD In the middle of Flamingos !!! While kissing that damn note!

But oh my dear LGBTQ+ community… What does Flamingos mean in “our” culture?!

Look it up xD!

C is done with the lies. She wants to tell the truth! But even her truth, has consequences! Like I said before, almost seems like a big joke. Because she lies, she dies more inside; she speaks the truth she dies either way for pressure!

Her duty the “red jacket” keeps being brought up as well as the necklace. The “boyfriend” represents the full PR blown. A match with a guy she hardly knew and dislikes completely, going from “I hate your parents” to “That fake tan looks ridiculous”. But these truths, again come with consequences, in which she dies the same!

One by bicycles when she decides to ignore both the “boyfriend” and the “bus-boy” (Lucy’s bicycle for Carmen maybe xD)

One when she decides to tell to the “boyfriend” face that his persona is ridiculous, and she dies by an attack of drones! (talk about death by social media…)

When she wakes up again, she realizes she can’t win, and she wants out! She is done with them PR’s and her love note. She tries to get ride of it, but the note (her feelings) just keep multiplying. She decides the best solution is to burn it and bury it. But finds out that even doing so, she still can’t be left alone and the PR brigade Truth Police is waiting to take her in to question her even further!

Now this part of the questioning it gets a bit confusing for me, but what I make out of it is that, in her bag there are 3 items that they confront her with.

The first is the necklace, which is a part of her Red Jacket which represents her ‘military PR’. Being connected to a lie detector, she is being questioned if she “took this”, which is what’s confusing for me in what or who the “boyfriend” here is actually representing. It might just represent the ?advantage? that she took from that PR relationship? Not clear, but she looks ashamed from the question although we know she never liked the necklace (which is the first reason to make her die). Maybe that is her guilt, that despite not liking it, she still did it and took what she needed from it.

The next is the funniest ofc - the vibrator xD I mean please. The “boyfriend” mouths “WHY?” it’s obvious the object is phallic but does not have a complete penis shape, it’s merely for her pleasure, pleasure she cannot have from that situation even if she wanted. The does not look ashamed like before, she just looks embarrassed bc she has been exposed xD.

The last one is the note, which “bus-boy” picks up, I see it as a bargain. He picks up the note, and understands whats going on.

*Also, I don’t think the golden glasses are a coincidence. He hasn’t had any glasses so far, but he has now. Hmmmmm … who do we know related to glasses and gold…. hmmmmmm….. opps!

He sees that she is clearly in distress.

And decides to help her the way that he can (also helping himself on the way ofc)

So he decides to make a deal with her. They will collaborate and get rid of the “boyfriend” once and for good while also giving him a clean straight image/ or in the context of this MV maybe get him more popularity?

She does not accept this at first. And tries to say no to “bus-boy in golden glasses” aka Shawn team and Roger Gold (her team).

But she eventually realizes this is the only way for her to be free as much as she can in this crazy world.

They do a “SEÑORITA” move! And they are off to sell that “truth” now. Ew “The boyfriend” loses his ground, and sees that he no longer holds a grasp on her and gives up, taking off his badge, maybe as a meaning that he has now lost power or that the contract is terminated.

C thinks with this she is free. She is happy. She is with a guy she can trust, because they have the same agenda. She smiles while the guy stays neutral through the scene.

But she is reminded of one thing. The PR guy has changed, but her duty and carer is still in the hands of the main boss; the main machine - Music Industry aka Ruby Necklace.

Aaaaannnddd she wakes up. She wakes up to know it was just a nightmare (or a memory? accentuated by her anxiety). She is not in a mansion waking up on fancy robs and living in a complete prison.

She is still free to wake up on her own terms and live where she wants. She is fulfilling her dreams, step by step.

…. And the love note is there. The note, not a guy is there. The note to which she holds dearly.

In the background, we see that the pink news are actually still playing leaving for interpretation that:

- Camila is actually the same girl in the news, but is now avoiding the drama by turning off the TV and just focusing on her private life more than what is being said - that she has now swapped for the “bus-boy”.

- She was just imagining how bad would be to be in the Fame life and how much she is relieved she is not

(I personally think it’s the first interpretation).

Yes, I am aware there are dates and times on the TV but I don’t really know with what to associate (maybe someone knows? Maybe the Album release dates?), and yes I noted that the Pink News there is much more than meets the eye.

La Flaca - Camila The skinny one, that puts a note on her boobs that may or may not be the love note (implying perhaps that Camila is lurking also on social media and living the double life xD), and she also says a very understandable and common “lesbe honest” at the final dialogue.

𝔖𝔥𝔞𝔪𝔢𝔩𝔢𝔰𝔰 - (behaving in a way intended to attract sexual interest, without feeling ashamed about it; unashamed especially about something that’s generally considered unacceptable )

She starts off here in this little apartment complex. She’s in the middle where everyone can see her. Clearly we don’t initially know why everyone is outside looking at her but in this shot she’s the center of attention. She has everyone around her watching her every action.

Some notable lyrics to keep in mind as we approach the next scene: “It’s been a secret for the longest time.“

We get a shot of her in what seems to be a confession booth with a female pastor. She’s there to confess her “sins” and while she’s near the pastor she tells her: “In my dreams, I do anything I want to you.“ But why just in her dreams? Because whatever it is she dreams of is considered “unholy.” Which is why we see her talking about it in a confession booth where it’s kept private.

“I need you more than I want to” “I need you more than I want to”

She continues to be the center of attention as the neighbors are still surrounding her. Except this time we can see one of the houses are on fire: that she purposely set on fire. Hence why she’s in the center of the apartment complex, shamelessly watching it burn, and dancing.

Based on crime this states that she was extremely jealous. She saw something she shouldn’t have and as a result of being infuriated with her own feelings she burned the house down.

“Right now, I’m shameless Screamin’ my lungs out for ya Not afraid to face it.”

She continues confessing all her “sins” which then lead us to the next part. The bridge.

“There’s just inches in between us I want you to give in, I want you to give in There is tension in between us I just wanna give in And I don’t care if I’m forgiven”

She confessed all her sins and after the final verdict she doesn’t care if she’s not forgiven for how she feels or what she did. Whether that be for her being herself or for loving that other person so much. She was willing to metaphorically burn down her lover’s or their interest’s house in this video.

“So we’re there, now it’s real.

Now that you have me “do you want me still? (NBTS)”

My kisses are history, they go back a long time.“

“And I’m tired of loving somebody that’s not mine.”

Why she’s acting out of jealously in the music video is because she can’t love them and hates seeing them with someone else. She loves this person so badly that she can’t act on it the way she wants to because it’s seen as “wrong.” Therefore she loves them secretly from a distance. This connects closely to the confession booth.

“My emotions are naked, they’re taking me out of my mind. ”

To symbolize her feelings being completely out of control, in the music video she started levitating in the club. They also show subtle shots of her with her lover in the dark which represents the things she does with them in her dreams.

In this shot everyone is watching her run away from her feelings. She looks back at them but she doesn’t want to do that anymore. She burned the confession booth and everything became calm afterwards.

Something interesting that I really needed to point out: they both get swallowed by people that could represent a lot of different things including fame, feelings, ect.
