Hi!! This is my first ever post on here :)

I’ve had tumblr for ages but I’ve been far too shy to post 😭 I’ve been loving Stardew Expanded lately, so I just had to draw these cuties! I have more posts to come if anyone is interested!

Side note - Apple’s party cutscene where no one turns up ruined my day 💔 his sad little face ripped my heart out, threw it on the floor and stomped all over it 😭 AHHSHWHSHWHS

I hc Emily's original hair as sandy blonde(somewhere between beige brown/blonde), maybe I'll draw that later?

I have finished this portrait! It was a bit difficult to pull off, especially the haori sleeves. I had to change up the himo (haori ties) in the concept too because I am NOT drawing a thin string ribbon in pixel art - but I Did It nevertheless and I'm very pleased with the results!

I also made a GIF version that shows all the clothing layers (each of which I drew in full for practice)!🌸

I'm also working on a little thing that I will share as a template for Aseprite users once I'm satisfied - a completely modular journal mockup to show off your farmers, which is designed to be a near-direct recreation of the in-game journal UI.

I manually assembled these with the relevant game assets, which took a lot more time and effort than I thought because every UI element is separated for some reason...

Lastly, this art took a while to post because I was waiting for the update and for the lovely signature shown in the first image to be finished, which I commissioned from my wonderful friend Pau (suzukiPC) and fellow Stardew mod author!

Sometimes I wish I lived in one of the cozy farming sims I play, then I remember that: 

I traded a coworker banana bread for a ride to work on a hot day. 

I gifted a plant I grew to a different coworker just because I had extras.

I bake pumpkin pies for my partner because it's their favorite, and I have the recipe memorized.

I gave leftover cat food to a couple who foster cats.

The bus driver of the bus I take to work every day sometimes drops me off in front of the train station between stops to help me catch my train.

My mom gave me honey from an apiary in her neighborhood and lotion made of goat milk from her neighbor’s goats.

And I think that maybe I already do, I just have to see it. To reach out and help people with kindness, and allow myself to receive help in return. The welcoming communities so common in cozy sim games are the thing that sometimes feels the most out of reach. We have to be willing to be kind, vulnerable, and open to the people in our lives to achieve the community we crave. Which is, obviously, easier said than done and takes time and patience, but it is also so, so worth it.

Cozybug Mod Recs: Quality of Life

Quality of Life (QoL) mods are a kind of nebulous category, but to me they just mean "mods that make the experience a little smoother or easier". As I got further and further into my modding journey, having these little boosts has made the game just that much more fun to play! Fair warning though, I'm not an automate/lookup anything person, so I won't be recc-ing them myself. There are a lot of great lists out there if you're looking for even more support while playing!

All mods are 1.6 compatible, off Nexusmods.

Convenient Inventory

Convenient inventory my beloved ❤️ This is the mod I'd miss most if I went back to vanilla tbh. It's not exactly a hidden gem (I think Salmence even mentioned it in a recent video), but it's such a game changer. Essentially it allows you to auto-stack items in your inventory to nearby chests with the click of a button, with tons of customization options to boot. It saves me SO MUCH time, can't recommend it enough!

Informant - Tooltip Labels

Informant is a mod that adds extra information into the game in easy-to-spot labels. There are several mods that do this (I think Lookup Anything has some similar features?), but I love this one in particular because it's so configurable. All I wanted to add in were the shipping and bundle notification icons, so that's all I added in! You may want more or less, and this mod gives you the freedom to choose.

Event Lookup

While I may not want to look up anything, I certainly LOVE being able to see when there's a new cutscene available! Especially when I'm playing with lots of NPCs who may or may not have detailed guides or wikis, being able to see where and when I need to be somewhere is a huge lifesaver. The mod lets you see a larger, more vague overview like so, or lets you view granular details for specific villagers, so there's something for everyone!

UI Info Suite 2

I feel like this mod features in every single youtube video of Stardew I've ever watched lol. The most well-known feature of this mod is the ability to show a little luck/weather/birthday icon on your UI right next to the quests button. But my personal favorite feature is that it can also show you the range of sprinklers and scarecrows - no more painfully counting squares for me! Again, it's highly configurable so you can choose what help you actually want to receive, and what feels like too much.

Quality Smash

This mod is an absolute LIFESAVER if you do anything related to flowers on your farm. "Color smash" combines all flowers into one stack, while "quality smash" combines them again into the lowest possible quality. I use it for things like donating items for quests, and kegging crops that don't need quality anyways. It's not something I use a lot, but I'd definitely recommend it for when storage starts to become an issue.

Last night's WaFFLE workshop overhaul. 😊

I bought the clock and cleared my bank account in the process, but I still wanted to run the full array of Cornucopia machines with Junimatic to see the variety of product coming through the farm.

I'll probably replant the second-level greenhouse in winter, because it's all vanilla trees and ancient fruit up there right now, and I'd like to do warm weather plantings to replicate my Ginger Island farm, I think.

Anyway, aesthetically, this is def better than it looked yesterday. Still fiddling with it, though. 😂
