The race will take place on a circuit that circles Hard Rock Stadium, home of the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League.
Miami joins the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, as the second event in the United States. The date for the Miami event has not yet been confirmed, but F1 president and CEO Stefano Domenicali has stated that it will take place "in the second quarter of next year." Domenicali proposes that Miami be twinned with the Canadian Grand Prix in June, and he adds that the United States is a key growth market for F1.
The initial proposal for a Miami race included a track that crossed a bridge over the city's bay, but it was scrapped after local officials and residents objected. The new proposal, which was eventually adopted by Miami's city council last week, includes a number of steps designed to reduce the effects on the local population and climate.
Domenicali added that there were no plans to add a third race in the US in the future, but America is such a big place that it always felt like F1 needed at least two races there to integrate with the audience.

Title of the article: Power production performance aligned with simulated predictions in Faroe Islands
Date of publishing: March 23, 2021
Site: https://local.fo/power-production-performance-aligned-with-simulated-predictions-in-faroe/
Summary:
Technology developer Minesto has made significant progress related to electricity generation to grid as part of a continued operations program in its tidal energy project in the Faroe Islands. The company’s power plant has reached peak power production performance above 110 kW.
A second DG100 kite device, dubbed "Drekin" (Faroese for "The Dragon"), was delivered to the Faroe Islands in March and successfully operated in electricity production mode, according to Minesto. As a result, the company now has two systems in Vestmannasund. The average power generated over a tidal cycle matches simulation estimates, reinforcing our performance expectations regardless of size. This is a very promising outcome and a major contribution to the ongoing third-party verification work.
Meanwhile, Minesto has completed the training of additional onshore and offshore installation personnel, allowing the company to oversee all kite system operations and maintenance. Dr. Edlund said that with three full teams of operators, they have built capacity for both long-term operations and the much-needed ability to manage multiple projects in the Faroe Islands.
Minesto also assesses and plans for the use of smaller vessels from local suppliers to improve operational flexibility and cut costs. Dr. Edlund went on to say that their strategy is moving forward, with increased operations for both volume production of electricity for the grid and configuration optimization to help scale-up and identified performance enhancement.
Three new words with explanation + Polish translation:
tidal cycle - the periodic rise and fall of the waters of the ocean and its inlets, produced by the attraction of the moon and sun, and occurring about every 12 hours (cykl pływów)

Title of the article: One million DKK for research project on whale meat mercury issue
Date of publishing: March 26, 2021
Site: https://local.fo/one-million-dkk-for-research-project-on-whale-meat-mercury-issue/
Summary:
Miljøstyrelsen, Denmark’s environmental protection agency granted 980,000 DKK for scientific research project ‘The Arctic Dilemma — Evaluating 40 years of risk communication on marine contaminants on the Faroe Islands.’ The head of the project is Elsa F. Helmsdal. She works for the Faroe Islands Public Health Administration and has an MSc in Health Promotion from the University of Roskilde, Denmark. The aim is to reexamine knowledge about pollution in pilot whale meat that has been widely available for the past 40 years.
The problem of public health risks associated with consuming infected whale meat has been raised since the 1980s. After experiments revealed that pilot whale meat contained elevated levels of mercury, one of the first guidelines was released in the late 1970s. Pilot whale meat was not recommended for consumption in 2008. These recommendations are based on experiments carried out by the Faroe Islands Public Health Administration.
‘The Arctic Dilemma’ will analyse information regarding the risk associated with the consumption of pilot whale meat over the past 40 years and will examine how that information has been received and responded to. This part will partly consist of conducting a survey of young women. The last part of the project will include an analysis of the levels of mercury contained in the bodies of these women.
According to the Faroe Islands Public Health Administration, reexamining information from previous decades would provide a clearer understanding of where they have achieved, and there are many communities in the Arctic where part of their fish is severely polluted, so the information might be useful to them as well.
Three new words with explanation + Polish translation:
mercury - the chemical element of atomic number 80, a heavy silvery-white metal which is liquid at ordinary temperatures (rtęć)
contaminant - a polluting or poisonous substance that makes something impure (środek zanieczyszczający)
seafood - form of sea life regarded as food by humans, prominently including fish and shellfish (owoce morza)

Summary:
On 14th February the documentary Together in Isolation: The Lockdown of the Faroe Islands was released on YouTube. It was created by Polish filmmaker Kuba Witek and it is about the Faroe Islands during the Covid-19 related lockdown last spring.
Witek created several documentaries about Nordic countries. He went to the Faroe Islands last year wanting to experience the Faroese winter before flying to Greenland, however because the lockdown he was forced to stay in Faroe for longer. Witek said he had been trying to go to Greenland for two years and he was worried about my relatives and the future. And a first when the lockdown started and everyone started to get used to the new situation, he started going for long walks regularly and did it because of no restrictions in Faroe to do so. Then Witek began to watch how the Faroese community dealt with the crisis of Covid-19 lockdown.
Witek noted that one day he was at the concert by Hallur Joensen, a country music star, who came to a retirement home and played his favorite songs for the elderly. Witek, having his film equipment with him, decided to document the life in the Faroe Islands during the coronavirus lockdown. Making the documentary took him about four months and the filmmaker interviewed 18 people, such as: Kristina Háfoss, former MP and Finance Minister, now Secretary General of the Nordic Council; journalist and editor Sveinur Tróndarsson; artist and ocean rower Livar Nysted; virologist Shahin Gaini, professor Hans Andrias Sølvará from the University of the Faroe Islands; and priest Marjun Lómaklett from Klaksvík. Sixteenth Entry: Summary of “ We got rid of Covid-19 in the Faroe Islands through competence – and luck”

Title of the article: We got rid of Covid-19 in the Faroe Islands through competence – and luck
Date of publishing: March 11, 2021
Site: https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/we-got-rid-of-covid-19-in-the-faroe-islands-through-competence-and-luck/ar-BB1etzC7?li=BBnbcA1
Summary:
On 26 February, the Faroe Islands became officially free of Covid-19. Since summer2020 the archipelago experienced three waves of the virus and the number of cases declined every time.
The Faroe Islands’ response to Covid-19 followed the same map as other countries: testing, contact tracing, lockdowns, public health campaigns and a reorganisation of our health sector. However, unlike most other governments, they decided early on to influence the behaviour of our citizens by issuing recommendations.
The Faroe Islands had the world’s highest rate of testing per capita last year. They tested up to 2% of the population – or 1,000 people – every day when the total population just over 50,000. In June, they required that all travellers to the Faroe Islands were tested at the airport on arrival, and they recommended getting tested again six days later.
This testing capacity came from the fact that production of farmed salmon is a key industry in the Faroe Islands, The salmon farmers were tormented with salmon disease and their veterinary authorities built the infrastructure necessary to rapidly test for salmon diseases in an emergency.
When the pandemic started, the Faroese veterinary authorities proposed adapting these testing labs to test for Covid-19. The collaboration with private laboratories and the public health sector, allowed the Faroe Islands to increase its testing capacity to about 5-7% of the population a day by August.
A survey conducted last May by the University of the Faroe Islands indicates that most Faroese have a high level of trust in the government, the prime minister, the Faroese media, their own municipality, the head of police, health authorities and experts, and, finally, in the Faroese people in general. Thanks to that in small societies, there is often more informal surveillance, and inhabitants frequently have a strong sense of self-discipline.
However, testing is only successful when it’s combined with measures such as effective contact tracing and isolation. Therefore, whether or not a country’s Covid-19 strategy is successful depends on that country’s geography and social circumstances. In the end, the Faroe Islands' success with beating Covid-19 is a result of luck or competence at the same time.
Three new words with explanation + Polish translation:
Municipality - A political unit, such as a city, town, or village, incorporated for local self-government (władze samorządowe miasta, władze miasta, władze administracyjne gminy, gmina)
