Seraphine opened her eyes and stretched into a starfish position in the middle of the bed. Ibis was at the edge, smiling. “Good-” he caught himself and finished. “-evening.”

‘You wanted to say morning.’ She’d teased him about this every time before when he’d said morning.

‘Hey, gimme a break. I caught myself this time.’

She laughed.

‘Didn’t you have to wake up early when you were human?’

‘You were never human.’ She sat up. ‘Yes. When I was human I had to be up by dawn to feed the chickens, the sheeps, and the cows. Then I would take the légumes to the market and then that would take the rest of my morning. I’d eat some bread and cheese then go back home to weed and harvest the crops…’

He looked at her awestruck as she went on about her day as a human.

‘You were a-’

‘-a peasant. Yes.’ She rolled her eyes.

‘I was going to say farmer.’ 

She did an exaggerated sigh. ‘What part surprises you the most?’

‘I don’t know. I’m having a hard time picturing you feeding chickens.’

‘We had an evil chicken. I fought with her many times.’

Now THAT was a visual Ibis had trouble grasping, despite literally seeing into her mind.

While Seraphine sleeps, Ibis spends the day learning and trying new recipes, drinks, and potions. And talking to Bugs. Today he made a new drink and named it after her.

The movie started and so did the mental commentary from Seraphine.

‘Indeed France has the best food. And yes, probably Paris. I don’t know about this Gusteau though.’

Followed by ‘Ew! A RAT?!’

Then when Remy finally comes up from the sewer and sees the view. ‘Ahhh, I see why you wanted me to watch this movie.’

Ibis took the opportunity to ask. ‘Does Paris really look that beautiful?’

‘You’ve never been?’

He answered her. ‘No. Only layover.’

‘Well, it is beautiful. When I lived there we didn’t have the Eiffel Tower yet, though. I disagree with the others, I think Paris looks better with it.’

‘Maybe you can show me.’

Her smile faded as she allowed logic to weigh in on how good of an idea that was.

Ibis woke up with a hard on and Seraphine by his side. He leaned over her and whispered hi. She was awake enough to read his mind.

“Why are you thinking about asking me to build a snowman? It's not even winter.”

He leaned back, admonishing himself for thinking of something so stupid and killing the mood. ‘It's from Frozen.’

She raised an eyebrow. ‘Children's movie?’

‘You’ve never seen it?’

Silly question, why would the Lady have ever watched any children’s movie?

‘You’ve seen no kid’s movies? Ever? Oh we’re changing that.’

‘Please don’t you dare put some princess crap.’

‘Oh no no, no princess. This one is about food.’

She looked at him unsure as he looked up the movie and started it up.

They took a bath together and talked about nothing else for the rest of the night.

Ibis reappeared at the penthouse and was glad to find Seraphine there. He greeted her with a kiss. ‘How was your day?’

She sighed. ‘Another one of my slaves is dead. I’ll replace him tomorrow.’ She headed towards the closet to get changed. “Where were you?”

“Grandpapa called me. He had…an issue with a date.”

“Oh he’s finally dating.” She was taking off her jewelry and considering what to wear. She needed something clean but she wanted something comfy.

She was eyeing his side of the closet when he popped behind her, hugging her and kissing her shoulder. ‘What if you take off everything and we take a bath together?’

That sounded perfect to her.

In the middle of….the night, Ibis got a call from his grandpapa asking for him to immediately come to a house. Ibis teleported there after getting dressed and found him panicking, while the owner of the house laid down unconscious.

“Ibis, I think she’s dead!”

Ibis checked her out and discovered that while she’d suffered a lot of blood loss, she wasn’t dead. It was obvious how much his grandpapa had been panicking that he didn’t hear her heartbeat, faint as it was. He asked him to step back before casting a charm on the woman: sunlight.

Carlos thanked and praised him while they checked on the woman and put her to sleep.

Ibis finally asked. “Why didn’t you call Adam?”

“I was ashamed. I didn’t think.”

“Ashamed of dating or of dating a human?”

“Both?” 

It was both. He didn’t want the Elders in general to know that he was dating. He especially didn’t think Adam would understand him being with a human. And he was also ashamed about this accident. He should be able to control himself better.

Lately the Lady has been painting people instead of her usual still life.

The whole thing ended when the woman called The Lady “Mommy” at which point Ibis had to step in to avoid a bloodbath. Ibis erased her memory, sent her home, and then joined Seraphine out in the balcony.

‘I don’t understand what is it with people and ‘mommy’.’

‘I know right? Or ‘daddy’.’

‘Exactly! You get it.’

‘I’ve never tried to kill someone for it though.’

She shot him a look but then smiled when he looked away. She then pointed out something in the sky.

It was the classic story. Attractive couple invites young single woman to their fancy home for ‘dinner’. When she gets there she ends up at the table being the only one actually eating dinner while the couples stares at her. Then they make some suggestive remarks. She’s confused. But still she accepts their vague invitation to ‘show her upstairs’. And now they’re in bed…

Seraphine and Ibis were at the penthouse when he noticed the Lady had his phone. ‘What are you doing?’

‘Just ordering some food delivery.’

He nodded mindlessly, not thinking too much of it. But then he did a double take and checked out the phone. Seraphine was swiping on profiles on his Simdr.

He didn’t know what to question first. ‘Seriously?!’ or ‘Why did you swipe left on her? She looked hot.’

Seraphine turned her head to him so fast you’d be worried about broken bones. She had an angry look on her face. ‘You’re not playing with the food.’

Right. Relationship.

She went back to swiping and got some matches. Now it was time to see who could come right away.

‘Why are you using my profile anyway?’

‘I could just summon one of my slaves, but I know you prefer women so…’ Someone responded on the app so she replied back. ‘You know, I was a little disappointed to find you even had the app installed.’

‘I was just helping grandpapa.’

The moment Ulene had 7 kids this officially became a Big Family™️. Sure, there's a lot of generations, but counting from Katherine/Carlos we only know of 1-2 kids. Lara had 3 (now 4) and that would've been considered a lot had it not been for Katra being a triplet with *another* set of triplet siblings.

It's not talked about often, but Fabian is in a big family too. He has 8 daughters but considering how many "uncles" he has, he has a big big family too. Not to mention all the women born into the family in past generations, who have been mostly forgotten because they're women. Fabian may have just the one sister, but he suspects he has half sisters out there in the world. It may not seem like it, but he's careful about the women he sleeps with, especially in Bridgeport.

Darla has a lot of children as well so she's starting a big family of her own. She only had her twin sister before and max 3 aunts or uncles from either side. Preston (father of most of said kids) did come from a bigger family already since he had 6 aunts from one side of the family.

Vera married into the Tunks family which wasn't exactly big, but it was weird. Brent (her husband) is a time traveling kid (a concept she's still not sure she understands), and there's also a robot sibling, and a ghost sibling/roommate/lover? She's not sure how they're related and Brent isn't 💯 sure either. Vera and Brent have 4-5 kids (I'm doing this by memory so I'll have to check the family tree later and confirm).

All the families in Ancient Egypt are probably considered big, especially counting the babies that didn't make it past childhood.
