I’m sick of boys with tall frames trying to hold me in the palm of their hand. My size six shoes and small hands do not make me a doll for you to play with or to have or to hold. You spend two weeks listening to my laughter and nodding through my stories and you think you know me.  You do not. You spend a few days learning about my baby basketball brother and kind mother and you think you have the right to come into my room and life unannounced I am laughing with friends that are not yours and you get angry because I forget to answer your text messages. You mistaken friendship for love and throw harsh words like “friend zone” and “liar” at me like knives at a dartboard as if it is my fault, I try not to let them break me in half.  I have already been shattered. You are sad and I am sorry. You took every smile for confirmation that I felt something Every text for a promise of a future Every laugh for a sign of something more. You tell me I am a liar but I cannot agree with you. I said I cared for you and your friendship and I still mean it You are the liar You said you cared for me.
