im absolutely obsessed with the last great american dynasty and mad woman because unlike her last 2-3 albums, folklore barely talks about her reputation and the publics perception of her the way she sets it up in the last great american dynasty is that youre supposed to listen and be like omg rebekah is crazy but i cant believe they blamed her for things that were obviously not her fault and the story is so extravagant it feels fictional and then taylor’s like it didnt have a mad woman for decades and now i own it! and you’re just like holy shit thats how people see taylor thats how the media paints taylor out to be and then she comes back w mad woman 8 tracks later and it’s inherently a feminist song as she explains the way the patriarchy has pitted women against each other aand when she explains she gets more angry when ppl call her angry and if you poke a bear that just leads to more distruction but its literally not her fault that the media tells her to get over it and then brings up the drama as clickbait and they hunt her and its her, once again, calling out the way her reputation has been created with so much sexism and without any admittance of the fact that its not her doing and thats why it ends with “you made her like that” because taylor is a) admitting to the fact that the media did make her a little crazy and angry but also b) the media paints her to be selfish and crazy and dramatic and self distructive in a way that was never true
