"Good to know what to expect if you and Toni plan on more," Cal quipped, chuckling softly as he rubbed Luna's back. He nodded giving a brief glance around before spotting Toni, true to Myles word showing off their baby. "About the usual, fulfilling my godfatherly duties," he said, hesitating before biting his lip. "I ran into Mallory, she hasn't been giving either of you any trouble, right?"
Myles smiled warmly when she saw Luna, careful to keep her voice soft to not wake him. “I appreciate that, I do miss all of you, and this was the only thing that could keep me away from work,” she laughed. “He’s here somewhere, probably showing Rosie off,” she chuckled, looking around. “He’s so sweet with her. How are you doing?”

"You'd be surprised, you're not exactly Miss Popular in town," Cal replied simply as he rocked Luna in his arms, "Only reason you're not banned from nearly every establishment in town is because Myles decided to be kind." Now he actually rolled his eyes, "Her fiance, you can keep acting nonchalant, but doubt you're happy about never getting to see your grandchild."
Mallory rolled her eyes at Cal "oh please, like you could really do anything to me...and wouldn't that be such a horrible example for the little one..." She pouted at small child that wasn't sure of her "threatened a poor old lady with such violence..." She crossed her arms "besides I haven't touched a hair on Myles head or her.... Whatever the hell she calls that man she's with...." Crossing her arms.

Cal was holding baby Luna close to his chest, the boy sound asleep despite all the noise around him. Seeing Myles he smiled taking a seat next to her, "Course not, though I'm happy you and Josie will be back together soon. The dream doesn't work with just one of you," he teased. Glancing around before back at her, "Toni here too or did he stay home?"
@justcallmecal
Mylene knew she probably should have skipped this one, having just gotten home a few days ago, but she had insisted on not missing out. She promised to take it easy and not move around so she just sat on a camping chair and chatted with whoever happened to walk by. “Cal! Oh good, you’re here,” she smiled when she spotted him close enough to call out. “So…whoever is doing my work right now isn’t doing it better than me, are they?” she joked.

WHERE: Lake Party WHO: Mallory (@lxvenderhxzehv)
"You know everyone is teasing me even more over looking sleepy," Cal playfully chastised the baby boy he was holding. Luna simply glanced up at his godfather, blinking sleepily before letting out a yawn and snuggling to sleep more. Shaking his head he was headed to get some shade when he frowned at who was walking towards him. His grip tightened on his godson, "For your sake I hope you're going to avoid being tackled to the ground again," he quipped. The incident at the ball had been the talk at dinner at the de la Luna house.

"Like I said no rush," Cal said as he led back into his office, using the electric kettle to start heating up water and setting two cups to the side. "They're doing well, in laws have been working on clearing out the water and get some new bridges installed." It felt easier to talk about them in a working context, almost unfair how large his was now compared to what Ames had gone through. Setting a cup in front of her he took a seat across from her. Lady once again taking a spot next to Ames, simply leaning against her leg. "So the no new issue, art block or..." trailing off and letting her decide how much she wanted to talk about it or take the out.
Ames managed a small smile at that. "I haven't been by the paper yet, but once we're not as tight on resources again, I can print up new copies of those issues if you want," she offered, before glancing down when she felt Lady nudging her hand. Crouching down, she started gently scratching the dog behind her ear, appreciating the unbridled affection that she received in return, and only looking back up when Cal spoke again.
"Oh," she said, considering the offer before nodding. She had promised herself and her friends that she would try to leave the house more often. Hiding in the head librarian's office still counted, right? "Actually, that would be really nice. Thank you." She gave Lady a few more pets before standing up and following Cal to the office. "So," she said, realising she'd never really spent time alone with him before. "How is your family?"

Cal set a juice bottle next to Felipe before taking his seat across from the teen at his desk. "So what do you think? Actually want to take a chance at learning it...or?"
Trailing off he opened his own juice bottle as Felipe was skimming the book on knock code. After helping him write a school paper he'd been pleasantly surprised to still have him hanging around. Though a small part of him had worried over boring him, so far none of the books he'd recommended had sparked interest.
What had gained Felipe's interest was the tapping Cal did on occasion, having caught on it wasn't quite as random as it appeared. Now here he was trying to impress a teen of all things, feeling strangely nervous over it.
"It's cool, think I can actually learn it?" Felipe asked glancing up from the book.
"Course, anyone can. We can start slow with just spelling out your name," he said visibly relaxing as he started tapping out an F onto his desk.

Sometimes Cal wonders if Luke is aware of how grateful he is for Lady, and how well he had trained her. He'd felt her nudge his leg glancing up right when Ames had walked in. Knows the look on her face, has seen it on plenty of people in town as of late, but mostly he knows it from looking in the mirror.
"Hey there's no rush, I actually managed to save the ones we currently have. Number 5 and 7 got a little water damage but still look pretty good, grateful I scanned them," he said. He felt Lady nudge him again, reaching down to pet her head before gently coaxing her forward. She was quick to move around the desk to sit next to Ames, nudging her hand and waiting patiently for what she needed. "You know if you want to be out of the house or away from people, can make a pot of tea in my office?"
WHERE: The Library WHO: Cal de la Luna ( @justcallmecal )
It had been days since Ames had left the apartment. Her oldest sibling came over most days, as did her closest friends, which was probably the only reason she had been eating and sleeping somewhat regularly. Other than them, and Reagan, she hadn't seen anyone else. She hadn't spoken to her coworkers other than to apologise for not coming in. Everything felt blurry and distant as she walked, like she was wandering through a reality that wasn't quite hers, disconnected from the rest of the world.
She blinked when she walked into the library, slowly adjusting to the lighting inside, before approaching the counter and clearing her throat to get Cal's attention. "Hey," she said, her voice quiet and strained after barely using it. "I'm sorry I haven't brought by a new issue yet. I'm... I'm working on it. Or I will be working on it. Soon. I hope."

Cal visibly brightened when she called him honey, leaning forward to steal another quick kiss. "Knightley is the one who says he gets anxious," he replied with a shrug. Smiling at her, he pulled her closer to him, "Food is likely to be a good gift, considering most of that house is going to end up pitching in with three of them. I'm willing to take Juniper a couple more times if you are?"
Celia had one last drag before being pulled toward her husband, eagerly kissing him back at the same time as she put out her cigarette in the ashtray, wrapping her arms around his neck and keeping him close when he pulled back. "Honey, Lia and Xander are about to have triplets, is now really the right time to be shopping for projects for him?" she questioned with a teasing smile. "Speaking of, we do need to get them a gift. I was going to make some food, and there's a bunch of things in the basement from when Marisol and Felipe were growing up that could use a new home."

Cal coughed as he laughed when he'd taken a small drag, shaking his head as he patted at his chest to clear out his throat. Using the small ashtray as he finished to put the last bit out. Tugging on her hand he pulled her towards him and wrapped his arm around her waist. "Well both are still accurate for me," he said smiling at her, leaning down to kiss her. Pulling back he chuckled and shrugged, "Well Lia's friend Xander could use a project, not the worst thing if she breaks it."
"No, I thought you looked tired," Celia replied with a completely straight face, still looking out the window as she took another drag from her cigarette. She tried to hold it for as long as she could, but the corners of her lips slowly twitched up into a teasing smile, until she finally glanced back at him and let out a soft chuckle. "But also very cute." She reached out to take his free hand and squeezed it. "It's a small town, but I am curious to see how she's going to react to it when we tell her. She's either going to break down laughing or get flip the table mad that she didn't put it together herself."

Cal was carefully aiming the smoke out the window, chuckling and shaking his head, "Dashing? Was that what you thought when we met?" Thinking it over he shrugged, leaning towards her to kiss her again, "I guess I got use to always being Mal and Cal," he admitted. Pausing he slowly nodded, "They do, bit crazy he's been working with Vero this whole time."
Celia let out a laugh, partially from the sheer absurdity of the situation, but mostly out of pure affection for him. "For what it's worth, I think the name Calloway suits you," she replied with a faint smirk. "Even though you barely go by it. It makes you sound very dashing." She leaned in for another quick kiss before glancing out the window. "I get a good feeling from them," she mused. "Beto and Essie. They seem like good people."
