Why Looney Tunes: Back in Action is objectively the greatest film ever made
No-one ever talks about Looney Tunes: Back in Action and that’s a crime.
Because…
Okay, Brendan Fraser plays a stuntman.
Tumblr media
…who hates working with Brendan Fraser.
Tumblr media
His dad is Timothy Dalton, who plays an actor most well known for spy films.
Tumblr media
…who turns out to actually be a real spy and hides spy shit behind a portrait of himself.
Tumblr media
So father and son have to team up to stop an evil genius…   played by a near-unrecognisable Steve Martin.
Tumblr media
…whose henchman is WWE star Bill Boldberg.
Tumblr media
By the way, Steve Martin is the head of the ACME corporation.
Tumblr media
Yes, that ACME.
Tumblr media
Oh, and among Martin’s underlings are Ron Perlman and Robert Picardo.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So anyway our heroes end up at Area Fifty TWO… which is run by Joan Cusack.
Tumblr media
…and which houses all sorts of alien nasties, including…
TRIFFIDS
Tumblr media
THIS ISLAND EARTH MUTANTS
Tumblr media
ROBOT MONSTER
Tumblr media
AND MOTHER FUCKING DALEKS
Tumblr media
Plus the twins from Gremlins 2 play the WARNER BROTHERS
Tumblr media
Shaggy and Scooby chastise Matthew Lillard over the live action Scooby Doo movie.
Tumblr media
Porky Pig and Speedy Gonzales lament political correctness killing their careers.
Tumblr media
Brendan Fraser gets to punch Brendan Fraser.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fucking plus
Tumblr media
Plus the whole time he’s accompanied by Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny, and the whole thing was directed by Joe Dante so you know that’s a perfect fit.
So in conclusion, please watch Looney Tunes: Back in Action. It will most likely change your life.

“Sometimes I think I have felt everything I’m ever gonna feel. And from here on out, I’m not gonna feel anything new. Just lesser versions of what I’ve already felt.”

Miles away from the bubbly cute pop of ‘I Really Like You’ and even ‘Call Me Maybe,’ Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘All That’ is the 80s throwback ballad of every romance montage in your head.
Utterly recognisable of producer/artist Dev Hynes’ magic touch, Jepsen’s tender vocals caress over dreamy clouds of soft, twinkling synths, floating through a warm sea of piano and kick drum beats, with slap bass licks adding to the appropriately 80s feel.
Sweeping in soft focus nostalgia, the new 80s pop direction is suiting Jepsen well as the dream team of producers behind her for her upcoming album, including Hynes, Ariel Rechtshaid, and Vampire Weekend’s Rostam Batmanglij, demonstrates. ‘I Really Like You’ might’ve brought the fun, but ‘All That’ reveals something deep in Jepsen underneath all the shine.
