ive been thinking of an au of hermitcraft but following their in-universe lore ! so scar is a zookeeper that travels the multiverse on his magic train, and one day he lands on magic mountain...!

it hits me in the head sometimes that if byler is endgame, stranger things is gonna go down in queer history big time. Like it already is, but imagine if two of the main characters are queer and in love and we get mike’s internalised homophobia and will’s fear of being too much or too gay and there’s a grant love confession and they save the world fuelled by the love they have for each other and each other only? Like it’s always been Mike and Will, Will and Mike.

That’s gonna be one of the most realistic portrayals of queer struggles and queer love in modern cinema and it’s gonna be epic and if the duffers or netflix or whoever is in charge can’t see that, they just lost a chance at changing the course of cinematic history for queer people.

seriously tho they really could've had the one way sign in either direction on any other wall and it could've been a great representation of mike's great desire to get the hell out of hawkins that i'm pretty sure they've talked about before, or maybe by the window as a haunting reference to his suicidality that may or may not make a comeback in the final season, or just not had it at all because since when does he steal street signs, but no, they put it pointing directly into his open closet surrounded by posters of buff men. michael gayass wheeler. smh.

i still personally think mike is aware will lied about the painting BUT i think him finding out previously that el has lied about her life in cali in all her letters add a lot more to his confusion in a way people don’t necessarily want to acknowledge. will lying about his painting mike have connected in mike’s mind as “oh this is just something else el lied about” or at least if i was mike this is how i would’ve taken will revealing the painting

like it’s just brushed as “mike is a big idiot he should know better” but i think internally he’s still struggling with what was true and what wasn’t. i will acknowledge that mike is actively a bit stunted when it comes to how he handles his feelings in s1 he learns that he can have romantic feelings and finn saying in the recent con that romance wasn’t really on mike’s mind (granted the party was literally trying to find will of course he wasn’t thinking about love) adds to this

long story short mike has a lot more reasons to be confused than people realize 😭

Madoka Magika AU Desert Duo. At first this is simply a gag to draw Scar in Madoka’s dress but the more I think about it the worse it gets.

Warning for Puella Magi Madoka Magika spoilers:

Martyn once mentioned a theory that Watchers feed off human emotions, and you know who also feeds off energy generated by humans?? KYUBEY FROM MADOKA!!!

Allow me to reiterate. Kyubeys are produced without emotions as a high functioning high intelligence species, but Grian is produced as a flawed piece, one with human emotions. He hides it well enough for years, before one of his mission like many others is to make magical girls/mages.

It all goes south when the girl he tries to make the deal with (supposed to be on the brink of death) was actually rescued by Scar, who is a very strong and passionate passerby that literally lifted up the rubble long enough to keep her alive.

Situation goes terribly wrong. Essentially, some accidents happen, and Grian who was supposed to make a contract with a teenage girl made a contract with SCAR, HUMAN ADULT GUY!!!!

And Grian is stuck in this contract because Scar jokingly made his wish for Grian to become a human, and Grian is stuck as a kyubey (watcher in this case) turned human. He still have majority of his watcher powers, but is now painfully mortal.

Grian and scar begin living tgt, and eventually Grian learns how to be a mortal and has plans on severing his connections to kyubeys. But you know how madok goes…

Walpurgis occurs, and Grian watches in powerless horror as Scar dies before his eyes. In his last moments, Scar tells Grian he doesn’t regret what he’s done, but he does wish that he could go back in time so as to save everyone and not end in tragedy. Grian clutches Scar’s hand, holding it close to his sobbing mess of a face and in his mind, a genius idea comes to him:

If he is human now, does that mean he can abuse this system and become a magical girl/mage himself?

And Homura Grian & Madoka Scar occurs.

Grian goes back in time to prevent Scar’s death. Scar still becomes a magical girl, but somehow history changes and he is in contract with another kyubey/watcher (evil jellie) and Grian utilises his very limited amount of human behaviour knowledge and tries to become friends with him again, this time being a human from the start. They go to the same uni now, and Scar does see G’s weird habits but decided that’s just how British people behave.

Doomed yaoi.

In lieu of the affected timelines, even though magical girl Scar is supposed to look like the watcher he makes the deal with, he doesn’t look like Evil Jellie, and instead retains his avian aesthetic from before Grian rewound time.

I love Waffle duo so much I feel ill. For the past five days ive just been switching between the same four apps and searching “Waffle duo” “Grumbo” and “Grian and Mumbo” and it’s been amazing. Best friends? Yes! Boyfriends? That to! Completely platonic? Love it! Romantic? Love it just as much! Do not separate! They come as a pair! Choosen soulmates! They shair a soul! writing fanfiction is just. i’m being so creative and original. i’m plagiarizing everyone by accident. i’m a genius. i’m cringe. i’m too angsty. i’m too cheesy. this is not in character. it doesn’t matter that it’s not in character because these are my characters now. i love my hobby. this is the worst possible use of my time. i’m seeking validation. i’m projecting my own personal problems onto this story and i’m barely hiding it. i know so many words and i’m using all of them wrong. im on tumblr posting about it instead of writing it.
