‘ life is a book, and there are a thousand pages i have not yet read. ’ (from herstoriies!)
"Then long may you read," George applies a kind sentiment to the notion, considering at the very musing what books he himself has not yet lay eyes upon. Being so fruitfully indulged, even The King is prohibited from such works of King Lear, which he does not often contemplate for too long before somebody blazes in, an inferno of justice or seeking his qualm for their personal query.
"If you were to title it, what should it read?" King George inquires, mirroring the ideology of her musing, entertaining it, perhaps. "I dread to linger upon what they title mine." The mad King does send sinking fear into his heart, for it has been used in whispers around the Ton.

I want a love that's a shelter. When my father cries - in his tiredness of being tough - my mother sits with him in silence. She holds his calloused palms in her soft hands, as his face reddens with grief. My mother too is hurt. And, father knows it. So, despite his cold, he becomes all the light in the world. In the kitchen, my father stands still, his eyes glued to my mother. She peels a pomegranate, and feeds it to him. Each seed, a discovery of her world. My mother, with two cups of tea, gazes as my father weaves our porch with honeysuckles. Tender earth in his hands, he passes on the tenderness to her. 'What does it take to grow such beautiful honeysuckles?' mother asks. Staring into her eyes, he ponders for a while, not because he didn't know the answer, but because what made the honeysuckles so beautiful was exactly what he was looking at. 'I don't know,' he said, 'I just pour them what you pour me with.'
'What?'
'Love!'

George lost and found himself within every one of her kisses. However, this particular kiss, being brought by pure annoyance, encouraged George to lengthen it. To, assure her his irritation would never dim. He will always be here to annoy her, and temper her, at the last second - in the heat of the moment, strike with bliss to relieve the built tension. “Hm.” George hums, contentedly. A steady hand comes to rest by her cheek, to hold her there, whilst he speaks. “I do not believe you wish for me to be fair, my love. Not with such ubiquitous competition...” The King lowers his voice to linger, relax in the air surrounding them, breathing in her very being, inches from kissing her again.
@justgxorge " SLAP OR KISS " {{&&charlotte&george}}

charlotte was so annoyed with her husband. he had a way of getting under her skin, making her feel off balance. she had many things to ask him, and he had just flashed his devilsh grin and she melted, kissing him on the lips. ❝you do not play fair, your grace❞ she smirked inbetween the kisses

“Your mother boasted her own garden?” The King is avidly pleased to hear that his green-fingered habits have inspired confidence in perhaps a wider region of England. She boasts, then cuts herself short, and this puzzles George, but he does not question whatever she could have possibly reigned herself in from revealing. The King’s hard labor in the garden was met for and viewed as a spectacle, for him to lay his modesty to work amongst the other half of society, working for him - with him.
George is proud of this inclusive strategy being widely accepted, now, instead of ignored as some quirk he endures from his anxiety. The walk would best ease his growing discomfort; which is not for any company’s responsibility, but his own anticipation that winter frost growls closer to his soil and consumes the life he’s toiled into it.
“What else, pray tell did she grow? Among the flowers. Surely she must have brought some home-grown crop to the table.” George cannot see why else, and certainly cannot see the crops sold. That is not the value of them, and he has not had to rely on income from plantation.
George begins walking, pride rising in his stride as he becomes elated to share his work hobby with somebody he can call a close friend - if not, then intimately acquainted. Especially proven: to be invited beyond the gates that shield the farm from the public. “While the sun still shines. It is dark sooner, now.” George unlocks the gate, shoving the heavy lock with the heel of his hand to budge it. Reynolds was sent on break, by instruction of George, who wished for some time alone. Several James' line the crop fields, awaiting The King's presence.
It simply isn’t a woman’s nature to be silent for prolonged periods of time. (herstoriies - your choice which verse!)
“As much as it is a man’s nature to remain the opposite.” George presumptuously quips, quirking a brow. Although he seems playful, there’s a tinge of truth to the sour implication of the stereotype. He longs for the day he no longer has to fight for the freedom of both parties. George has always much to say, however unheard, if not for a rehearsed; prepared script he is given to present to the public.
“What, then, do you propose we aim for? The weather?” Small talk is not a fondness of the King’s. Keen to enamor and not bore, and much like an excited child, The King alludes to any other possible answer. “Perhaps we could walk through my garden, soon. Before snow falls, we are preparing the soil.” George has not engaged in casual conversation, outside of his Royal duty for two months. Is it obvious?

King George had never been involved in a masquerade, but many tales have traveled the halls of Buckingham Palace. Mostly, knowledge he has gained has been from the prospector of The King, duty-bound footman Reynolds.
His upbringing was quite similar to George’s, although kept from any chance of the entire country being bound to the weight of the linen hanging over The future King’s shoulders. However, today is different; and George is being truthful; opening up to Mari. Fingertips idly ponder over the edge of his chair, and he raises his brows towards her.
“No, but I would quite like to attend one.” Yet unmarried, the Crown might fall from his head if he bowed to a substandard of Queen-searching amongst scandalous, often treacherous members of the public for a night of private indulgence. “A friend told me that they are mostly held underground, in taverns that are built to be kept from the public. However, I have witnessed one being held in an established Grand Hall.”
Reynolds confused the King slightly, with telling of the spaces where he spends his queer-nights in confidence. “Perhaps we should embellish ourselves with masks and find out for ourselves.”
Is that an order, or a suggestion?
“Masquerades are frivolous, scandalous—“ Though the King does not refute the possibility of attending one.
"Do you know something about scandalous masquerades?" Mari raised an eyebrow at him. She didn't expect him to give away all his secrets. She had a few of her own to keep. "The masks, the fancy gowns. Anyone could be your dance partner for the night. It's quite a thrill."

You don't have to kiss a lot of frogs to recognize a prince when you find one.
George tilts his head. A flicker of amusement glazes over his polite gaze, and he wonders aloud. “Have you been kissing many frogs, lately?”
