Actually ya know what I can just find out directly. Which graphic novel/comic pitch would you be more likely to read? (It's more of a which should I focus on more/first question than an "only one will get made" question. Fyi.)
1) A teenage archer and his sorcerer friend are scouts exploring the woods when one of them is kidnapped. The teen falls into a post-apocalyptic cityscape and meets a strange girl, who helps him navigate the dangers of this land while finding a way back home and rescue his friend. (After the Fall- genre: fantasy-adventure, post apocalypse, nature themes/solarpunk-ish)
2) Wishing stars are thought to originate in Ancient Greece, where people believed a shooting star meant a god was watching... A Greek soldier is near death, but when he sees a star, he prays for aid to return home. The Star answers, and a young celestial goddess is able to prevent Death from taking him, but he is now trapped in the limbo of Dreams. The star guides the way, but there are still trials to undergo. (Soldier & the Star, genre: Fantasy-adventure, Greek mythology, romance (not garenteed, tbh), mental health topics.)

love the library. there's no risk. you can take out a book and go "wow this sucks" and just give it back. and when you do that you're still making the library's Number Go Up so you'll be able to roll the dice on even more books. all for the low low price of free/you already paid for it with your tax money so you might as well use it

something i've noticed that has become really annoying in the past 10 years or so is this fad of what i've been calling, for lack of a better word, "structural whataboutism." it's that thing where, when faced with a concrete, resolvable problem in your community, your answer is to blame it on a vast, unsolvable issue of structural inequality and then throw up your hands. "there's trash all over the ground in this corner of the park" becomes "well, that's where MEN OF COLOR congregate after their 12-HOUR GRAVEYARD SHIFTS and i'm not going to support a CARCERAL SOLUTION to a CAPITALISTIC PROBLEM. WE NEED TO ELIMINATE POVERTY AND THE SUBJUGATION OF THE WORKING CLASS" and it's like okay but sis. someone still has to go pick up the trash. we don't need a carceral solution, we need more trash cans. you're not going to eliminate poverty and the subjugation of the working class and even if ya did, there would still be trash on the ground. how any of this passes for radicalism within their peer groups i simply don't understand. it's radical laziness more than anything else

Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

My parents were at a conference several years ago where Neil Armstrong was the keynote speaker. During Q&A, one of the questions was how long he spent thinking about the "one small step" line.
He said the estimated odds of them actually making it to the moon were so low, none of them had given any thought to it at all. NASA had put 10 years' worth of effort from the smartest minds they could recruit into figuring out how to get someone to the moon, and still they thought it likely enough that they'd missed something, that they honestly didn't even think about the possibility that someone on this ship was going to be saying humanity's first words from a different planet.
From our perspective, the odds of them reaching the moon are 100% -- it feels inevitable to us. But it really was a hell of an accomplishment, given what they had to work with

i hate when a piece of kids media is so well made that people start saying "clearly this was made FOR adults not for silly little babies. we are the true target demographic" like cmon man. you don't have to pretend it's something it isn't. sometimes things that are made for 12 year olds are good.

Something that comes up often in art that's about artists is that you'll be told that this character made an amazing, record-shattering, highly acclaimed book or movie or song or whatever and then you'll see the piece of art they made and it's painfully mid. Like, you have to accept that within the world of the story being told, that's the most amazing piece of art ever but you're sitting there like, "There's no way that would ever catch on like that IRL."
Anyway, shout out to KPop Demon Hunters for sidestepping that problem entirely by having the in universe songs chart so high IRL that they beat out actual established KPop groups, proving definitively that those songs WOULD have set the charts on fire and beat out their competition even as the new kids on the block.

seeing straight men be disgusted by booktok smut recommenders has actually radicalized me to the side of booktok smut recommenders. girls your taste may be atrocious but i will never disparage you for exposing mainstream discourse to the concept of soaking through your underwear. spent my whole life listening to men talk about penises it’s about time they get jumpscared by women talking about pussy in crude detail on social media. go forth and goon my warriors

"you don't owe anyone anything" You are a tar pit. Speak for yourself. I personally owe the cafe employees my dishes put away and my friends a listening ear and small scared insects a cup and a gentle trip outside. Hyperindividualism is a rancid infection borne of capitalism and willfully misinterpreted therapyspeak and I will defy it by continuing to be kind regardless of whether or not it benefits me personally
