"How often are you gonna use these bad boys, I'll be honest unless you're a journalist, once a year max. Square brackets the brackets for squares."

Really appreciate the way Julia keeps asking for the word with an accent. Sure my girl doesn't quite understand what she's supposed to be doing but she commits

"I keep trying to tell her how i feel, but every time, what comes out of my mouth instead is "Let's rob a bank!" is an absolutely legendary line

I think we as a society should bring back brotps. I think we should be weirder about characters being friends the same way people are weird about ships. Make those two characters who interacted once or twice besties. Make it difficult for them to get rid of each other even if they want to. Go nuts

just saying i prefer my food-based crimes to be more "heisting $1 million worth of syrup from the Canadian Maple Syrup Reserve" and less "corporations giving toddlers listeria for fun and profit"

american puritan names have nothing on the first name of this 17th century dutch woman artist i just read about. my girl Tesselschade ('texel damage') named after the shipwrecking of her father's 44 trade ships on the coast of the island Texel in 1593.

I just want to shout out the Spanish subtitler of The Grape Depression (Anna Day) for interpreting "You don have to tell me twice" as "No me lo diga dons veces" creating a Second Pun to get to enjoy
#joke translation is so fascinating to me#we kind of explored it in school#but it never comes up at work#(if it did I would be very worried)#so I love seeing it in the wild

I think the law on right to repair should give manufacturers two options: either you have to make it possible and practical for people to fix their own shit (as in, you have to sell replacement parts at reasonable prices, you have to provide repair manuals, you can't void warranties) or you have to fix your products whenever they break, for free, for the reasonably expected lifetime of the product.

Having seen a previous workshop at the Segal a few years back, the Max in this one was so silly and I loved that. Also Aaron having French parts when emotional (ugh I love it). It also felt less sad (maybe I was just sadder last time), but I came away from it feeling like Max and Aaron would find a way to be in each other's lives (if not more) in a way that I didn't last time. Again unsure if the vibes were different or I just read into things differently. I know Trevor said Max and Aaron aged with him over the years and then he actually made them a bit younger again because it worked with them younger. I wonder if that played a role in the difference. But also, a lot has changed mentally for me since I last saw it. Everything felt funnier. Still kind of sad at times, but sad and funny.
#kell is weird about everything she sees at the segal centre in general#and Max and Aaron Write a Musical in particular

I went to see it again. I am so upset at myself for not realising it was only on for a week, but I am so grateful that it was put on at all. Everyone was amazing and I am obsessed. And that is very inconvenient but honestly it was really really good and aaaaaahhhhhh!
So I went to see a musical at my local theatre, because I am the Segal Centre's bitch and I can and will watch anything they put on. And now I have to cope with the fact that I can't go back and see it a thousand times because the run is very short. Disrespectful. I want to see Max and Aaron Write a Musical thirty million times. Side note: I love when indie Anglo Montréal shows chuck in a little French as a treat.
