“Hey, why does it look like you’ve been crying,” Michael asked, taking a seat across from me. I looked up at him and shook my head. He face twisted into a confused expression. He moved closer and let out a few sighs. He was my big brother and just wanted answers. In the last six months, he’s seen me like this quite a lot.

“Lemme guess. You aren’t gonna tell me but you’ll tell Ash,” he said softly as he got up from his spot. I nodded and buried my face in my arms. I could hear Michael walking away and soon after, someone walking towards me.

“Jordyn, mind telling me what’s wrong,” Ashton asked, pulling me close to his side. My head laid in the crook of his neck. “ I mean, I think I know but I wanna hear it from you.”

“I just don’t wanna fight with him anymore. Everything is always a fight anymore. He never wants to be seen with me. It’s like he doesn’t even love me,” I cried, looking in Ashton’s eyes. He gently wiped the tears from my eyes and took my face into his hands.

“Listen to me. He doesn’t deserve you. You deserve someone who’ll want to take you out or spend all their time with you. Someone who will try and build you up instead of tearing you down. Someone who’ll love you for you and not make you change your looks. Someone who will let you be your crazy, beautiful self.”

“I know someone like that. I just don’t know if he’d even wanna be with me. I think that’s why I’ve dealt with you-know-who for so long,” I laughed softly, letting one of my hands rest on one Ash’s.

“Anyone would be lucky to be with you,” Ashton whispered, not noticing how close his face was to mine.

“Yeah right. I’d be the lucky one. Who’d even wanna be with me.”

Ashton pushed our lips together and then pulled away from me after a few seconds. I looked at his face. I was in shock.

“Me. I love you. I’d wanna be with you. I wanna be with you.”

“Hand me my phone. I gotta do somethin,” I whispered, kissing Ashton. He passed me the phone and I dialed my “boyfriend.”

“What.”

“We’re done asshole.”

I ended the call and tossed  my phone back onto the table.

“Now, where were we.”

I loved my brother’s bandmates. They were pretty cool and they were really funny. They took their music seriously but also knew when to have fun. Whenever the boys had a break before and after practice, they always hung out. Even when they hung out somewhere else, they always invited me to tag along. 

We were trying to decide what to do for the weekend. Nobody had plans. That included me as well. We all were brainstorming but Michael wouldn’t  shut up about what to get for dinner.

“We could all hang out here this weekend,” Luke suggested, looking towards my brother who nodded. He looked to me and I shrugged.

“Sounds good to me. Mikey go ask mom.” With that, my brother ran into the house, falling as he went into the house. When I looked back at the rest of the guys, they were all on their phones. I put on my headphones and turned my music all the way up.
