it’s like. okay so at some point i internalized that people didn’t need to like my personality but if i was good enough at what i did they would at least have to respect me. so i put everything i had into being skilled/smart/etc because i couldn’t be broadly likable (i am likable but it’s for a niche audience im not a box office hit). but then i had to unlearn that because you can’t base your entire self worth on a) what you produce and at what skill level you produce it OR b) other people’s respect anyway. but now it’s like im not likable OR good at what i do. and i could be better at what i do if i locked into the grindset but i fail to see the point. it would just be back on the hamster wheel of high pressure and stress and exhaustion just to “get through it” and then it’ll be over and then what. where will i be. catatonic !
