Don't wake the sleeping giant.. To be honest, I'm sad that he snoozed through our whole visit. I bet his eyes were magnificent. His feet were the size of soup bowls. They're was another lion they're who spent his time pacing, but never in an area to get a good enough picture. He was dark maned, and lean. His handler was there and was giving him scratches through the fence. The lion's head was at his chest level, and he was fairly tall. It's a dream of mine to visit the Krueger National Park some day and stay at the village in Sabi Sands, and see these animals in their natural habitat.... I've never been this close to a tiger. Even though there was a fence, and a gate, and 6ft of space between his enclosure and the outer fence, it was terrifying when he turned and locked eyes with me and started walking towards me.
