I used to really love king falls am. But now the show is a fucking mess. The Ben and Emily shit went on way too long, to the point where everything involving them just feels cringey to me now. I stopped caring a long time ago about whether or not they’d get together.

The creator also obviously doesn’t know how to write women. Emily and the FBI agent (who’s name I’m blanking on right now) started off as cool characters but then they turned into being victims all of the time while making stupid decisions because of the men they’re involved with. NO SELF RESPECTING WOMAN IN THE REAL WORLD WOULD KEEP A DATE WITH A GUY THAT OBVIOUSLY MANIPULATED THEM INTO IT AND THEN FORM A RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM AFTERWARDS. NO ONE WOULD BELIEVE ONE GUY WHO IS OBVIOUSLY LYING OVER DOZENS OF PEOPLE THAT KNOW THE TRUTH AND PHYSICAL PROOF OF THE LIES SHES BEN FED. Her whole plot line was a fucking joke and as someone who has been in an emotionally abusive relationship that involved a lot of gaslighting, it honestly appalled me.

And don’t get me started on the Sammy being gay thing. Look, I’m queer and I’m starved for representation, but what they did with Sammy is not how it should be done. This show has been going on since 2015 and THEY ARE JUST NOW TELLING US THAT SAMMY IS GAY. That’s obviously just been added for some social justice points and after having been criticized for lack of representation. This show would have been so fucking good if they said Sammy was gay from the start and focused on him looking for jack early on. But nope, it’s obvious that they only made Sammy gay because they wanted people to stop criticizing the show for only having one gay side character that we only hear from every once in a while and who isn’t part of any main plot lines. Like, it’s so obvious that it hurts. Waiting almost three fucking years, with no hints at all, to tell us a main character is gay. They really must think their fans are stupid to make it so half assed and think we wouldn’t notice.

So yeah, what started off as a great podcast became a hotbed of misogyny and half assed representation with the shittiest “will they, won’t they” romance that I’ve ever seen.

Unpopular opinion: I don’t like Killmonger. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean I don’t think his anger was valid, I just think his intentions weren’t as pure as some of y’all think they were. Like when taking the throne in Wakanda, he was doing things that were going to destabilize the country and if the country becomes destabilized, how are they going to be able to help black people all over the world? Like, I lowkey think he was just disguising his desire for revenge as wanting to help black people because if that’s what he really wanted to do, he would have done more to make sure his takeover wouldn’t hurt wakanda as a country but instead he was destroying the the things that allowed wakanda to prosper in the first place. So yeah, I don’t like killmonger because to me it seemed like he cared more about revenge than helping black people.
