Last two quarters of college planned out & getting the Bachelor of Science instead of Bachelor of Arts degree.. Advisor tells me to take fun/ easy electives like art, dance, or theater but these upper division Soc. classes seem too interesting to let it pass by. #senioryear #hardwork #almostdone (Taken with Instagram)

Get to know the little city I live in.
Oxnard, CA.
Reasons why I love living here: • Beach is 5 minutes from my house. • Mediterranean weather all year around •The PCH (1) literally runs right through the city • Malibu is 20 minutes away • Santa Monica/ Venice Beach are 50 minutes away • Los Angeles is an hour away • Hollywood is 45 minutes away (with out traffic) • Santa Barbara is 30 minutes away • Six Flags Magic Mountain is 50 minutes away • Disneyland is about 2 hours away • Population is barely about 200,000 (not too big nor too small) • The snow/mountains are about an hour and a half away • 19th largest city in California • 113th largest city in the United States • James Cameron has a home here
It’s such a perfect location to live in. It’s right in the middle of everything!

Thanks.
I appreciate the support, but when you said "YOUR ____" I just panicked a little bit. Everything's going too fast right now. Kind of feeling not ready for this next step.

Symbolism
Tumblr media
I posted up this picture before, and I wanted to include the story behind it, but I did not. I did, however, write in my "epiphany" journal as my friend who gave it to me calls it. Here it is...
Today a took a picture of something that means a lot to me. In the future when I look back on this picture, it will bring back every single emotion, thought, and feeling that I had at the one moment in time.
This picture symbolizes my past plans. It symbolizes what I thought I had in store for my future. Prior to ripping these pieces of paper up, I stared at it contemplating what I wanted. After a long staring contest with these pieces of paper, and endless texts and facebook messages with people, I came to a realization. Sometimes in life you have to give up your old plans because not everything you want to do can happen. Not everything you want to do can work out accordingly. You need to learn to let go of something, no matter how hard it may be. However, just because you had to rip up your plans, it doesn't mean you can't build something new out of the "leftovers."
Don't dwell too much on the shredded plans. Try not to look at those individual shredded pieces as forgotten and useless. Instead look at them and try to build something new and better out of them.
This picture sums up everything I went through that week. The picture itself may not be that great to others, but it does to me. This is the kind of photography I admire. Images that I can look back on in the future to remind me of how I felt at the one moment in my life. That's how I can determine if I took a good picture. Goodnight.

Hoping
Hoping that I get this scholarship thing so I can go to an Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute for five days in May or June (depending on when I want to go)! It'll be at Indiana University and gives me the opportunity for growth in the areas of personal leadership ability, personal courage, ability to develop a vision, personal commitment to integrity as a leader, appreciation for myself, personal commitment to leaving a legacy, and commitment to living my ritual! If you know me, those are things I find very exciting since it's all about personal growth.
Pray that I get it. I would highly appreciate it.

I just think that even if people didn't seem to care about it before, than they weren't just very informed. I remember all the talk about Invisible Children back in high school and it was always empowering to sit through those assemblies put on by Invisible Children.
I'm a strong believer that taking action doesn't mean protesting all the time, or buying this/that to support, or always wanting to do some drastic action plan. Sure, those are factors of it, but I think that creating awareness is the most important when it comes to "taking action". Even if it's just through a bunch of reblogs, tweets, or wall posts on any social networking sites, it is still something. It creates a buzz in the air, and creates dialogue among one another. It might seem like it's just hyped at the moment, and "WTF, when did you start to care all of sudden" thing, but why stop or put that down? Personally, it's always empowering just to see our generation discuss and dialogue about these issues.
With the video that was produced, it really feels as if it's the next step forward for Invisible Children. So, more power to that!
